I'm a Cricut crafter and just started using machine embroidery. I am so jazzed that I could use my HTV for embroidery patches. I loved your video and your instructions were easy to follow. Can't wait to see more videos and ideas from you;}
Awesome love how you explain and no music to distract. I save all my glitter scrap HTV and use hole punches to punch out different shapes. So happy found your channel
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Great information. And you voice is so pleasant to listen to in your video. I’m going to look at your other videos. Thank you again.😍
Thank you I just bought and old PE=150. I an double amputee. so i was trying to find something to do to give me a little extra money. I'm going to take your tips an see if I can start a little income.
Good Morning I scrolled up on your channel today. I came back to tell you how much I enjoyed your videos. You do really beautiful work. Thank you for taking the time to teach as you go through your designs.
I have not used my brother embroidery machine in years it's collecting dust lol I started designing Crocs patches are too expensive! I'm breaking out my machine...thank you! I hope I remember how to use it...I also have a lot of vinyl
@@SouthernAudacity hi do I have to put a placement on the bottom material? I'm going to try and design a patch...after you take the hoop off like you did and cut I hope I don't mess it up trying to put back to do the border🤪 going to get some shapes so I can put my name...thanks! I have a brother pe770
I just bought heat vinyl, hoping i would run across a video showing me EXACTLY what you just did. Thank you so much. liked subscribed and singing your praises!
Nice job! Since your not hooping, have you tried pre ironing your glitter to your fabric, cutting to size, and using adhesive spray to hold fabric in place? Would save you time and materials.😉
Because it was heat transfer vinyl, I ironed. But if using a fabric that didn't have a adhesive backing, spray adhesive could be used. But with heat transfer vinyl, you want to iron it down.
I love your patches and this is a great video! Excellent instruction without a lot of "extra." I am curious what you use that's stronger than Heat n Bond Ultra! A friend of mine asked me to make some iron-on patches for hats, so I found you while researching.
Thank you for another great tutorial. I love how you explain the process. Would you tell me what size needle you use please? I love how calm you always are. 😊
It's just a sturdy background. I have used cotton broad cloth if ironing onto shirts that I didn't want too much weight on. But if you mean why twill and not just the glitter, the vinyl alone cannot support the stitching.
Thank you🌞 yes..it could have been left and just trimmed at the end, but I trim before the satin stitch to keep it as neat as possible and not have the fabric showing too much on the edges. I hope that makes sense.
This was a purchased box that was included in a set of appliqué shapes. JLDzain on Etsy. www.etsy.com/listing/268715237/shapes-applique-embroidery-designs-basic
🎉🎉🎉❤❤ I have that sewing machine. Didn't know I could use vinyl, cause I do have, a few cricut machine's. Can you help me please. I would love to do this. How did you get the lettering?
For this, I used fonts that were purchased at designs by Juju. You can use fonts from many different shops. I used Sew What Pro to merge the letters and order the colors (steps so it would stitch in the order I needed. Embrilliance Essentials is even easier since BX fonts can be used and you type out the letter instead of searching for them.
I love it Queen 👑. Thanks for the details and explanation of all one will need to complete this look. I love ❤️ the design as well. The silver and black was my favorite 🤩 also.
Hi I have a question.. you know how you didn’t cut the adhesive to close to the patch? When ironing it on.. do you trim it closer first or just iron it like that? I’m worried that you’ll be able to see the glue. By the way.. awesome video. I want to try it the way you did it. Thank you.
applique border from JLDIZAINS on Etsy and the fonts are both from Designs by JuJu..Joey is the word HU$TLE, But I cannot recall the name of the font I used for "Girl"
Oh yes! I always recommend a tack down/ hand stitch around the edges with a thread that matches the border so that it will stay in place over the washes.
Hi with this vinyl you can do the rip away method with out cutting it and is even easier and for drodution is the fastest way hope the you try it thank you for the video great work keep it uo.
This is actually a applique border from JLDIZAINS on Etsy and the font is from Designs by JuJu... I think it's the Joey font, but any font with those elements would work.
They are a mix of fonts. The top is a block font I think I got from Embroidery Mill, the Dollar sign is from Designs by JuJu and the word Girl ! is also from there but I cannot find the notes on the exact font.
Your videos are amazing! You explain so well and don't overly talk like other vides I have watched by other people.
Wow, thank you! I feel like I talk too much...lol

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have been using glitter canvas instead of HTV glitter vinyl. This is much cheaper to use for my pockets❤
Yes and I LOVE that it gives you so many color options!
Great tutorial, thank you 😊
Thank you so much! I have watched 4 other videos on making iron on patches. Yours, by far, was the most insightful!
Thank you for watching! 🌞I am happy that this was helpful!
I did this technique on sweats using WW design. I wish I knew I could just use regular htv 😖😖 I bought "embroidery" htv! Thank you for the video
Yes! Glitter vinyl HTV and Flock HTV will work this way and they are less bulk so the patch is still nice looking, but not heavy. Thank you!
Thank you I just bought and old PE=150. I an double amputee. so i was trying to find something to do to give me a little extra money. I'm going to take your tips an see if I can start a little income.

Love the qtip trick to get rid of the stabilizer♡

Or what if you don’t use fabric at all on a dense stitch patch? Is the htv and heat n bond enough? Like for a chenille patch for example…
very nice tutorial thank you, never would have thought of using HTV with my embroidery machine
Awesome -thanks- Palm Springs,Calif-
I started using a lighter to remove the water soluble on the edge. It melts right away! Have to be careful though because I did scorch one patch.
Great tip!
What a great way to use up all those HTV scraps!!!
Yes!!!🌞
Great Video! Thanks for making it. I have peeps asking me for patches, so now I have some know how. Time to check out your other video's.

Hi, could you have used spray adhesive instead of ironing the glitter down?
Because it was heat transfer vinyl, I ironed. But if using a fabric that didn't have a adhesive backing, spray adhesive could be used. But with heat transfer vinyl, you want to iron it down.

Thank you! Stronger adhesives--Durra Bull by Lonestar Adhesives or Twill USA P600 5ml heat applied adhesive work well.

May I ask why use the twill at all?
It's just a sturdy background. I have used cotton broad cloth if ironing onto shirts that I didn't want too much weight on. But if you mean why twill and not just the glitter, the vinyl alone cannot support the stitching.

Dumb question but I saw you iron it on. How were you able to cut around it and salvage it? That’s great
I just cut as close as possible while trying not to clip stitches.
Nice video thanks

Now I buy locally at Walmart, Joann's or Fine Fabrics just outside of Atlanta. This I believe was from Fabric. com which was bought out by Amazon
