The water blocks the sound. But I have put this speaker in water and sand and even dropped it in mud next to a dam by a mistake and it still works perfectly. Sounds exactly the same as when it was new 💪👌

The volume is ok. It sounds like a big speaker on low volume. It is loud in a small room. It has alot of bass for its size. The jbl go 3 is louder. But the Sony has alot more bass and alot more flex. I had the go 3 but replaced it with the Sony because it has alot more bass and i like the way it sounds. But it is not the loudest. But I still recommend it
