the food and drinks look amazing. The place was empty, especially for a place with a lot of buzz. Is this normal for high end restaurants nowadays with mainly only US tourists during pandemic?
I answer this question all the time... I eat right away at restaurant open 530 pm, so I can get clear, unobstructed shots of the restaurant. Taking video at a buzzing restaurant is impossible with waiters and patrons constantly messing up your shots. For the same reason, i also wake up at dawn to take video of the casino property and go to the pool as Soon as it opens in the morning.
Thank you for not just rehashing the Chef's Tasting Menu like everyone else. X Pot should hire and pay you for showing another side of this Restaurant.
New subscriber here. James’ food and drink knowledge is a totally different level than other channels. Love the video style, no one yelling over restaurant noise. He gets a better view of total restaurant experience by sitting at the bar dining solo - brilliant. Gourmand, bon vivant, world’s most interesting man? I’m hooked.
Been watching a lot of these restaurant reviews over the past few weeks and I just thought you could hold down your liquor very well. Thanks for pulling back the curtain a bit on how you get to experience all these unique drinks without passing out at the bar 😆
Long ago it was Rumjungle at Mandalay Bay for us. It also had the lighting, the smells, and the ambiance that set it apart! Plus it had the largest Rum selection in the world! The Bar was 150 Ft long!
Fantastic work, description of food and drinks; going to Vegas end of this week from Australia and will certainily try some of your suggestions; happy earing and drinking
Been following various Vegas vloggers for years, you have solid style in everything from footage to editing to descriptions to your overall vibe. I was put in charge of choosing a restaurant for a large-ish party and your videos have helped a ton, take care and safe travels
Rose rabit lie in the cosmo would have to be the best restraunt that I have been to so far in vegas. The atmosphere is theatrical and up beat with random live performers. Also love some of the art and decore they have in there.
This is 100% my favorite restaurant for a lot of the reasons you explained. However, you have to go back and do the hot pot! The Wagyu feast and chef's selection is perfect. Aside from that, the Dancing Noodles and Shrimp Paste are amazing. I hope you do another video with the hot pot portion. For 4 people, I spent about $1200. That included A5 Wagyu for 4, a double sharing pot of broth(Lobster and Golden Chicken), Even more food than you showed in the lounge, too many cocktails, and a bunch of individual items from the menu. Big shout out to the service as well. They MAKE the experience. Everyone is kind, patient, helpful, and funny. They also do a changing of the mask ceremony and dancing noodles is not just a name.
I never paid much attention to X-Pot walking by... but WOW! Just love the presentation of the food and drinks. Really enjoying your to the point, detailed videos. I wonder what is the most expensive restaurant on the Vegas strip.
Went here and did the hot pot, was definitely interesting. But I don't ever see myself paying that much again, just to have to cook the food myself. For me half the wonder of visiting a nice restaurant is the Chef's abilities, and the hot pot removes all of that. Still a cool place tho 👍
Hey man love your videos. I have been to Vegas twice in the last 3 months and have tried many different places. SW was always my favorite spot for a good steak and cocktail until recently. Delilah at Wynn is amazing! It may be hard for you to take any videos or pictures there but it’s great. Very classy and luxurious. Food was great drinks were great and it’s visually beautiful. Feels different! Top notch service. Will definitely be coming back in a few months. Maybe I am biased because I love the Wynn lol.
The coolest bathrooms I’ve seen in Vegas are at Skyfall at Mandalay Bay. They face down the strip, and have floor to ceiling one way glass (I hope) windows in them.
Jean Georges at Aria is my new #1. It just dethroned my perennial #1 - SW Steakhouse. I’ll talk about it more in my vdara experience video, which debuts tomorrow or so,,,
I am staying at the Venetian in March for the first time, so I will check that place out, I would of chose to stay at the Wynn again as it was superb but it would of been double the price and id rather spend that money on food and drink, thank you for sharing this video, any places you recommend to hang out there for Nomads?
Looks like a real FUN dining experience. Idk why but made think of China Poblano in the Cosmo. Poblano doesn't look like much from the outside but it was a fun dining experience.
Nice review and recap! That said, I don’t understand how this could be your favorite restaurant in Vegas if all you had were drinks and a wagyu sandwich! How can you not try their signature hot pot experience??
@@Coolist yeah I get it. I guess my point was you tried all these fantastic restaurants in Vegas…how can x-pot be your #1 already when you only had a couple things there?
When dining Single- Do you make reservations to sit at the Bar? or Since you go at opening, do you find that there are seats available in a reasonable timeframe?
I'm hating on you right now. I'm going to Vegas this sumer for 10 days at the Marriott Grand chateau right across from the Aria trying to figure out where to go for cocktails and appetizers BUT You my friend put up so much great content, now I'm spinning and don't know where to go first.
Great video, and trust me.... the intervention comes naturally with age, so enjoy your time! Mott 32's bar is magical for me, and next time you are in Aria, check out the bathroom in Jean George's on the mezz.
I don't know how you stay so thin. I know you work out, but you must have a very fast metabolism. Those drinks alone, even though you only drink half, are still loaded with calories I am jealous!.
I did the exact opposite of you, doing the hot pot and completely missing the bar experience. I’d have to say the hot pot was the most delicious and freshest I’ve ever had in my life. It doesn’t necessarily have to be ultra expensive, either, depending on which elements you choose. I had the mushroom broth and tomato broth, which were each savory in their own ways. And, there was a guy eating hot pot by himself - it was lunchtime, not many people there, and nobody cared or thought he was odd. We actually thought he was a musician or celebrity of some kind. He had some kind of smoky, over-the-top dessert. Anyway, thanks for leading me to this place, even if I didn’t take the same route you did…!
these high end restaurants seem to consistantly provide slim portions. so you pay 200 for a meal and go have a 5 dollar slice of pizza on the strip to fill in the cracks. loll.

What's important to me in special restaurant's: Treatment friendly polite staff, the look of the place first step in I want to know this is a special place that gives a rose to ladies, coats checked, and a chair pulled out/in. Fresh linen on the tables. The smell and look of the place/drink/food. Dishes taken away immediately when done, at the same time not feel rushed. I don't like raw meat (medium cooked), no fish, no sea food except for chilled crab that's already opened ready to be enjoyed. I don't like blaring music/sounds when eating. I'm 70 and I have enough trouble walking, so I prefer Mock Cocktails, that are presented and taste well. I do prefer organic fresh food.
