For every perfect Person out there...
Yes; I understand the sushi came out plated Nigiri, but that was just for aesthetics. I ate it sashimi style as I always do, hence the malaprop.
If your only comment after this watching this entire experience video is to highlight a very slight misspeaking of mine, then I suggest you get this immediately...

Not frivolous or irresponsible. Obviously you can afford a $700 dinner ... I cannot. Life is short. You created an experience and memory that will last a life time. So much better an investment then, say, hitting the Blackjack table or Roulette table. I think you understand and can appreciate these rare morsels - many people are not so discerning. Thank you for posting this!!!

It's actually great he had to document it for his channel because oftentimes when you're drinking you are less likely to recall. I remember an extravagant night out on my birthday, or when I've splurged on a loved one, but other times, and I'll attribute it to booze... I don't really recall. It's also crazy how much money you can spend on alcohol for 2 boozers.
      I'm 48 if you're wondering how I could forget.

    • @chaoswitch1974

How do you only have 5k subscribers? Your channel is a guilty pleasure and an absolute ball to watch. I live in Manhattan, a city with great restaurants. Got totally hosed at Masa...which Mizumi seems to be the right experience. We spent over $400 per person at Masa, and felt violated. It's worth $75 at the most.

    • @Coolist

Hidden in plain sight I guess.

    • @hoppysport2872
      @hoppysport2872 3 года назад +2

@@Coolist The Las Vegas content is much more competing because of the incredible restaurants located in the hotels.
Manhattan is strange. It's so expensive for restaurants to be located in hotels because of the unions. A dish washer can't scrub pots, so restaurants need to pay two separate potscrubbers. And that's only the beginning.

Last year, my wife and I made a trip out to Vegas for the first time in over 13 years. Went during Thanksgiving and stayed at the Palazzo. We had dinner at Delilah in the Wynn, and it was definitely an expensive Thanksgiving meal. But the ambience, the live show, the drinks and the food that evening were just flat out amazing. This was an awesome video. Now I’m hungry. ✌🏽

Had Mizumi teppanyaki earlier this year with my dad for his birthday, it was a prix fix menu and we came out filled for JUST under $400, got to try the pork belly, sashimi, snow crab roll a piece of american steak for my dads entree and I had the seafood trio with scallops, black tiger shrimp, and chilean sea bass as my entree, yakisoba noodles and a raspberry macaron for dessert. Very filling and we had a drink each. MIZUMI is the BEST restaurant experience HANDS DOWN on the strip.

First of all, i enjoyed all your videos. I just wanted to share similar experiences i had with that sake "demon slayer" AKA onigoroshi, junmai daiginjo. Pros, very subtle, light, and very tasty. Cons, so smooth that it goes down faster than anything i know. On empty stomach, this chilled sake will throwout any rational judgments and make you a careless soul. I didn't know how happily drunk i was until i stood up. Just like you, end up just ordering whatever available or recommended. Overall, in my opinion, there is no justification for $700w/tip for that dinner. Honestly, i think you wouldnt done that without that sake. There is a reason why they call it sake flight.^^ Other than that atmosphere Mizumi offers where ive been b4, you can easily top that quality and with more varieties for less than $400. Tip, try kubota next time. This is really good too. Make sure you have some food first^^

Got yourself a sub. Feels like you're doing Vegas how I'd want to do Vegas :) I'll drop similar in the right restaurant, and I can totally relate to your ways of thinking here, I do the same with Sauternes and whisk(e)y as well as food,,, Ooo is that 25 v the 21 price uplift worth it? I'm going to have to create my own flight with the 18 or 30 to really see... :D What's the best value, does it cap out early, would I buy again? Etc.
I'm happy you were able to try things you'd not tried, really understand tuna and what works for you, and the food all looked legit great. I thought away from that premium protein, the meals weren't too badly priced at all, especially the pudding.
When you go to these places, it's an experience, and you aren't there to penny-pinch most likely. It is fun when you get chummy with the staff, it's a running joke with my wife that when I dine alone, I almost always get at least a free glass of wine because I'm passionate and interested and the sommelier thinks they have something I might find interesting. In one case, with my wife, we were at this fancy place in Madeira, Portugal, and we bought a dessert drink to compare, so a 30 year old and a 50 year old Medeira. It was a great to a good and expensive dinner. Then he offers us another glass - just one - and it's from 1890, my first and only experience of a 19th century drink.
British based and not made it out to Vegas, but it's on the to-do list, and videos like this make me want to visit all the more.

Oh, man. You got taken for a ride with the Demon Slayer. That is not considered a "high end" sake at all and it isn't hard to get. You can import it into the U.S. through Tippsy Sake for $55 and in Japan it's like maybe $25 for a whole bottle. Definitely fun to splurge once in a while though. But just think.....$700 is a few hundred off a round trip flight to Japan, lol.

I had the tasting menu, it was nine courses I believe and, between the two of us, the bill was under 700 and that included JW Blue and a few other over the top drinks. Mizumi is amazing.

I went to Mizumi last August and I thought I would spend a lot. I only ended up spending around 250 with a 50 tip included. I was full and could not eat more. It was delicious. I’m going back in May.

Looked awesome. That A5 made my mouth water. (Btw...prefecture just means district.. sort of like our states- it's the level of government below National. I think there's like 47 in japan. Hyogo is where the city of Kobe is...but there's 3 "big" beef prefectures). Dragon slayer is a tasty sake...but I think your bartender might have been playing you a little bit. You can get it semi easily. I looked...its $28 at Total in Vegas. (They show a different label on line..but same sake. It's usually $40-50 for a 720ml. Might be a label just for Total, but it's the Wakatake "Onikoroshi' Junmai.

Braised Wagyu Short Rib With Roasted Shallot, $26
    Spicy yellowtail roll, $24
    Diet Coke, $6?
Our table also got a sashimi plate to share, but you could just order individual pieces of sashimi or nigiri or an extra robata or sushi roll if you need a little extra to fill you up.
You can certainly dine here for under $100 per person

I live in Vegas and have never been there. Nobu is my favorite sushi place. But after watching this, I just might go there, sit at the bar myself, and try the kobe beef, some tuna and maybe a sake flight. Looks like fun!

I was there yesterday doing $100 slot pulls. Did you do a video of the room? Btw that was a very special dinner. Don’t worry about the price, it’s simply one bet. Looks like you had a great experience! Another thing I really like is real raw wasabi, not the powder mush crap. All in all I find that place over priced, but at least you ordered the right items. I can’t be spending $30 on the fried rice like I usually do when I’m playing poker and get super hungry.

On the one hand, $700 is a crazy amount of money for a meal. But $700 for an experience that you will cherish for the rest of your life and probably tell your grandkids about is more than worth it. That's the essence of the Wynn and Encore: very expensive but absolutely worth it.

Sounds like you had a unique, enjoyable meal. In Las Vegas, where it is easy to gamble thousands of dollars away in the time it took you to dine, $700 for a meal could be a veritable bargain 😁. I could dine with my sister there and keep the bill under $400 easily, mainly because we don’t drink.
I laughed when you had the nigiri, claiming that eating protein first before any starches was a good idea. It probably is a good idea, but that rice under the fish is a starch: unless you left the rice uneaten, your plan has been derailed.
Wynn is such a luxury, fine experience, no doubt the dining experiences are exquisite. Glad you had such a nice meal.

Prefectures are the governmental bodies of Japan which are larger than cities, towns, and villages. Kobe beef from Hyogo prefecture is the most famous brand of Japanese wagyu beef in the world

You can get different demon slayer sakes. They are dryer and tend to be on the more sweeter side like champagne. Definitely worth having a bottle on deck at home when the occasion arises.

Just FYI the “demon slayer” or 鬼殺し you loved is not very highly praised sake in Japan. It’s less than average like Mickey’s in the world of beer. Im guessing your preference is dry & spicier sake, so if you’re ever in Japan I’ll get you the finest dry sake. Thanks for your informative contents.
