Life is short. The world is a wacky place. So while you’re in Las Vegas it’s totally worth it to give a really expensive dinner a go. Mizumi looks amazing. And as you said… This is a meal you’ll always remember. And along with the meal, drinks tip being $700 you also get a lifetime of stories to share that you had a $700 solo sushi dinner. This was an awesome video. Now I’m hungry. ✌🏽

I fully agree, that was an epic dinner... Mizumi is for the professional sushi fan... I would have to eat at a steak house 1st & than stop by Mizumi for a few plates of sushi & a few rounds of drinks for the experience..
Have you ever thought about trying out any of the villas in Las Vegas? I know it's over kill because you are there solo, but I bet you would love them! Especially The Mirage Lanai suites or the Sky Villas at Aria!
I know people have spent 700 dollars on night clubs or cabanas or gambling… I think it’s more about the experience. Also, I feel like if I went to mizumi I have a good idea of what I was would get to eat/drink based on your recommendations so thank you.
New sub. here. Loved this one. In some respects, it's too bad you didn't share the experience with a friend. My best girl and I hit up LV 8-10 times a year. Will definitely try Mizumi. Place looks insanely good. Keep up the rad vids.
@@Coolist just got back after my visit and you nailed it. The lava cake mask was off menu, but they had a beautiful Cashew Ice cream dessert that was well worth the same price. Overall, the best 500 bucks I’ve spent in Vegas thus far!
Something similar happened to me at Club Paris in Anchorage. I was on business traveling alone and walked out with a $450 tab. My boss approved my AMEX expense report for that trip to!
I don't mind spending that on a great dining experience like you had. So good for you! I'd like to try Mizumi, but would want Omakase. I'm itching to go to Wynn/Encore this winter, so I'll have to plan on Mizumi!
Definitely worth every penny. Although I was very shocked that you had such a beautiful experience and actually tipped less than 20%. Was the service bad? Was it about the bartender being presumptuous? I'm native to Vegas and I guess I'm just a little confused.
Oh, man. You got taken for a ride with the Demon Slayer. That is not considered a "high end" sake at all and it isn't hard to get. You can import it into the U.S. through Tippsy Sake for $55 and in Japan it's like maybe $25 for a whole bottle. Definitely fun to splurge once in a while though. But just think.....$700 is a few hundred off a round trip flight to Japan, lol.
I wasn't happy with Catch. I won't be going back, maybe it was just an off night for them. I'll be heading to the new Fountainebleau in Feb to stay and see U2. Do you have any recommendation for restaurants at Fountaine? Love your videos
Just FYI the “demon slayer” or 鬼殺し you loved is not very highly praised sake in Japan. It’s less than average like Mickey’s in the world of beer. Im guessing your preference is dry & spicier sake, so if you’re ever in Japan I’ll get you the finest dry sake. Thanks for your informative contents.
First of all, i enjoyed all your videos. I just wanted to share similar experiences i had with that sake "demon slayer" AKA onigoroshi, junmai daiginjo. Pros, very subtle, light, and very tasty. Cons, so smooth that it goes down faster than anything i know. On empty stomach, this chilled sake will throwout any rational judgments and make you a careless soul. I didn't know how happily drunk i was until i stood up. Just like you, end up just ordering whatever available or recommended. Overall, in my opinion, there is no justification for $700w/tip for that dinner. Honestly, i think you wouldnt done that without that sake. There is a reason why they call it sake flight.^^ Other than that atmosphere Mizumi offers where ive been b4, you can easily top that quality and with more varieties for less than $400. Tip, try kubota next time. This is really good too. Make sure you have some food first^^
Looked awesome. That A5 made my mouth water. (Btw...prefecture just means district.. sort of like our states- it's the level of government below National. I think there's like 47 in japan. Hyogo is where the city of Kobe is...but there's 3 "big" beef prefectures). Dragon slayer is a tasty sake...but I think your bartender might have been playing you a little bit. You can get it semi easily. I looked...its $28 at Total in Vegas. (They show a different label on line..but same sake. It's usually $40-50 for a 720ml. Might be a label just for Total, but it's the Wakatake "Onikoroshi' Junmai.
Prefectures are the governmental bodies of Japan which are larger than cities, towns, and villages. Kobe beef from Hyogo prefecture is the most famous brand of Japanese wagyu beef in the world
Such an old video to me. But.....god damn i love mizumi. I walked out at just under $600 partially because of this video. Sadly, they don't offer this dessert anymore
Just made reservations with a friend at the end of the month. Since you eat for two and kept ordering that toro - I think we'll be ok with a 5-600 tab at the end of it. I don't need that much toro 😅
Hey there! Love your videos! How long was this experience? Wondering what time we would be safe to book a show after our dinner reservation here. Thank you!
Isn’t that nigiri, not sashimi? Anyway, looks delicious! We just got back from our stay at encore! We tried Casa Playa which opened in September. SO good!! Can’t wait to try Mizumi next time!
@@johnpalacios5914 It was delicious! The ambience was beautiful, and the food was so good! I expected nothing less from The Encore! I hope you both enjoy(ed) it! I'd love to hear what you thought!
Braised Wagyu Short Rib With Roasted Shallot, $26 Spicy yellowtail roll, $24 Diet Coke, $6? Our table also got a sashimi plate to share, but you could just order individual pieces of sashimi or nigiri or an extra robata or sushi roll if you need a little extra to fill you up. You can certainly dine here for under $100 per person
I live in Vegas and have never been there. Nobu is my favorite sushi place. But after watching this, I just might go there, sit at the bar myself, and try the kobe beef, some tuna and maybe a sake flight. Looks like fun!
Great video! Will have to try it after a bit hit at the tables. POINT OF CLARIFICATION - you had tuna nigiri and NOT sashimi. There was rice under the fish, therefore it’s not called sashimi….it’s called nigiri. Sashimi is riceless. :-) Love your videos! A5 Kobe is on my bucket list.
I went to Mizumi last August and I thought I would spend a lot. I only ended up spending around 250 with a 50 tip included. I was full and could not eat more. It was delicious. I’m going back in May.
Got yourself a sub. Feels like you're doing Vegas how I'd want to do Vegas :) I'll drop similar in the right restaurant, and I can totally relate to your ways of thinking here, I do the same with Sauternes and whisk(e)y as well as food,,, Ooo is that 25 v the 21 price uplift worth it? I'm going to have to create my own flight with the 18 or 30 to really see... :D What's the best value, does it cap out early, would I buy again? Etc. I'm happy you were able to try things you'd not tried, really understand tuna and what works for you, and the food all looked legit great. I thought away from that premium protein, the meals weren't too badly priced at all, especially the pudding. When you go to these places, it's an experience, and you aren't there to penny-pinch most likely. It is fun when you get chummy with the staff, it's a running joke with my wife that when I dine alone, I almost always get at least a free glass of wine because I'm passionate and interested and the sommelier thinks they have something I might find interesting. In one case, with my wife, we were at this fancy place in Madeira, Portugal, and we bought a dessert drink to compare, so a 30 year old and a 50 year old Medeira. It was a great to a good and expensive dinner. Then he offers us another glass - just one - and it's from 1890, my first and only experience of a 19th century drink. British based and not made it out to Vegas, but it's on the to-do list, and videos like this make me want to visit all the more.
You can get different demon slayer sakes. They are dryer and tend to be on the more sweeter side like champagne. Definitely worth having a bottle on deck at home when the occasion arises.
I had the tasting menu, it was nine courses I believe and, between the two of us, the bill was under 700 and that included JW Blue and a few other over the top drinks. Mizumi is amazing.
My good friend is a four maybe even a five star sushi chef he has a sushi restaurant in Las Vegas that just opened during the pandemic I have been there a few times and I have eaten his food at his other place in the Rio several times and I tell you his food is incredible and I love sushi and I’ve had it all over Las Vegas I’ve never been to Mizumi and that place looks insanely awesome and I will go there but you need to go and see my buddy at his restaurant you will be shocked. He is white but trained in Japan you will be extremely impressed. His place is called sushi Joe’s on Maryland Parkway he’s doing other ones which I’m going to try to get involved with because I love it so much. Tell him I sent you my name is Tim
I was there yesterday doing $100 slot pulls. Did you do a video of the room? Btw that was a very special dinner. Don’t worry about the price, it’s simply one bet. Looks like you had a great experience! Another thing I really like is real raw wasabi, not the powder mush crap. All in all I find that place over priced, but at least you ordered the right items. I can’t be spending $30 on the fried rice like I usually do when I’m playing poker and get super hungry.
Never had, and won't experience ultra high end dining at Vegas anytime soon... but watching the experience is definitely something. Still, how the hell do you justify spending $700 for a meal lol
I’ve learned to just spurge on trips like that if you’ve got the urge! You’ll make $700 bucks again but the experience was priceless. Brought to you by Mastercard lol

The tuna in the film is nigiri, not sashimi. ??
Just made reservations with a friend at the end of the month. Since you eat for two and kept ordering that toro - I think we'll be ok with a 5-600 tab at the end of it. I don't need that much toro 😅
Hey there! Love your videos! How long was this experience? Wondering what time we would be safe to book a show after our dinner reservation here. Thank you!
Isn’t that nigiri, not sashimi? Anyway, looks delicious! We just got back from our stay at encore! We tried Casa Playa which opened in September. SO good!! Can’t wait to try Mizumi next time!
My wife and I are going there at the end of the month. It looks like the most luxurious Mexicano food one could ever eat. 😃
@@johnpalacios5914 It was delicious! The ambience was beautiful, and the food was so good! I expected nothing less from The Encore! I hope you both enjoy(ed) it! I'd love to hear what you thought!
Thanks for sharing! 😁
Just watched your circa review and this one. Definitely must watch for me. Are planning on doing any bar/lounge reviews?
you are a very good storyteller
Braised Wagyu Short Rib With Roasted Shallot, $26
Spicy yellowtail roll, $24
Diet Coke, $6?
Excellent $700 spent!
OOO Toro 😮 OOH Yeah!!!
You deserve a memorable night like this!
Totally agree! Always two sides of the coin.. But why not treat yourself? Love it!
My husband and I went in 2019 twice. Best Yaki Udon I've ever eaten and the mask dessert was so beautiful I hesitated to eat it 😋
Noice review! I made reservations at Otoro.
Awesome choice - you know how I feel about that place. It's my favorite (mizumi is for special occasions, but can be too over the top).
@@Coolist you definitely influenced me to check it out. My last trip I did go to Morimoto and I was not too impressed.
I feel the exact Same way. Morimoto had fantastic aesthetics, but I didn't like the seating layout, and more importantly, the food.
Brother new to your videos. Love your content 👍🥂 subscribed.
Did u ever buy a bottle of that Sake Wakatake Junari Daiginjo?
The Wynn is the best property in Las Vegas. It’s also my favorite. The most attention to detail than any other casino.
I thought the bartender was going to let you keep the bottle for taking the last pour from The Demon Slayer! I love watching your videos!
Never had, and won't experience ultra high end dining at Vegas anytime soon... but watching the experience is definitely something. Still, how the hell do you justify spending $700 for a meal lol
Did you make a reservation or just walk-in and get bar seating?
Enjoy life to it"s fullest!
Carpe noctem 💫
I’ve learned to just spurge on trips like that if you’ve got the urge! You’ll make $700 bucks again but the experience was priceless. Brought to you by Mastercard lol
Love this video!!!
