    This song was on the Mission Impossible 2 movie soundtrack. That's why the guys in the band are in "dangerous" situations throughout the video and why you see Tom Cruise at the end (who does all of his own stunts). Lead guitar is Kirk Hammett. Bass in this song and this era is Jason Newsted.

      This video was on Mission Impossible 1 to give you an idea how old this song is. And Yes Robert joined the band later. He was Ozzy iirc before this. He joined in time for St. Anger circa 2005 off the top of my head. That is why all the dramatic action shots and the theme of impossible escapes. They brought the 1960's tv series to the big screen. I did not watch it or the lousy sequels. But Metallica I watched

    *This track is taken from the "M : I - 2" [ "Mission : Impossible II" ] Original Soundtrack, which was released in May 2000. The song was leaked on Napster, which prompted MetallicA to sue the file sharing-service. The song was released as a single on 2nd June 2000. Other artists on the soundtrack were Chris Cornell, Limp Bizkit, Rob Zombie, Buckcherry,....* 🔥💿🔊

    • @screwyootube1
      @screwyootube1 2 месяца назад

      Sadly, Metallica also chose to sue their fans over downloading their music. There were many horror stories of record company executives finding music fans that had downloaded their music, threatening them with lawsuits - if they didn’t settle out of court for $30-50k, they’d sue them for many more times those figures. Encouraging teens & college-age kids to clean out their bank accounts and sell everything they had, to pay off these outrageous demands!
      This cost Metallica a LOT of fans at the time.

    • @mokane86
      @mokane86 2 месяца назад +5

      @@screwyootube1the ‘bringing lawsuits against fans’ is false urban legend.
      They sued Napster and brought a list of 300,000 user accounts who downloaded the song and asked for them to be banned*.
      No random people were served court orders at home and were required to hire lawyers and make outrageous settlement payments.
      The “biggest issue” was that someone leaked an unfinished version of the song which spread and then was being played on radio. Besides the theft of monetary valued product , the unfinished version presented poorer quality performance and itself was a sort of defamation of character (“wow they sound like shit on their new song!”)

    When I first encountered Metallic years ago I thought "Groovy Hard Rock". I have listened to every rock group all the way back to the beginning. This edgier hard rock group shattered all of my stereotypes of what hard rock should sound like. I always said I love music that surprises me. That is what Metallica did. Their musicianship is pure talent. Check out when they did a concert performance with a full symphony orchestra. It was mind bending for a classically trained musician like me. Great way to pump up the start of my day. Canadian Grandma Lori. C.

    Metallica songs, in no particular order: Hit the Lights, The Four Horseman, Whiplash, Seek & Destroy (those are off their first album, Kill Em All). Then you have Fight Fire With Fire, Fade to Black, Creeping Death, Trapped Under Ice, and The Call of Ktulu from their second album Ride the Lightning. Then from their third (and best IMO) album, Master of Puppets, you have Battery, Damage, Inc, The Thing that Should Not Be, Orion (the best metal instrumental), and my favorite song, Disposable Heroes. From their 4th album, And Justice for All, you can check out Blackened, The Frayed Ends of Sanity, Harvester of Sorrow, and Dyers Eve. There are so many more than that, but that is their earlier music, and will keep you busy for a long time.

And Lar's drums, Jason's bass, and James' vocals are spot on as usual. Still can't wait for your reactions to more 90's Metallica, like "The Memory Remains", "King Nothing", and "Fuel". Also check out their 2003 album "St. Anger", with tracks like "Some Kind Of Monster", "Frantic", "Shoot Me Again", and the title track "St. Anger". Oh, and you guys still need to react to "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" from the Master of Puppets album!

    Jason’s last song. This is when the Napster drama happened. Napster had versions of this song before it was even finished. That’s what pissed Metallica off, rightfully so.

    I just came across your videos today, went through about 10 of them (mostly country and Monsters by James Blunt). Not only your reactions and videos are cool but I also wanted to congratulate you guys on your physical changes. It appears you have both made positive changes in your fitness, cheers!

    Love this one. From a more hard rock era from the band, and a more commercial approach for sure, but never fails to deliver! From late 90’s - early 2000s Metallica (like this song), I can’t recommend enough that you guys check out “The Outlaw Torn”. Loved the video, thanks!

    ** Factoid - random but true, Kirk Hammett studied with guitarist Joe Satriani , wile recordings one of there earlier albums the producer asked Joe Satriani if he knew a drummer to help Lars. Joe recommended his drummer Jeff Campatelli. So 2 members of the Joe Satriani Band were in the studio working with 2 members of Metallica
    Random but true

    Keep the Metallica reactions coming, but first you really must do one the signature songs of the 80's metal era: "Holy Wars" by Megadeath.
    Also, you need to revisit Judas Priest's "Painkiller" album, now that Amber has come to appreciate hard metal. I would go with "All Guns Blazing"
