I agree. I bought a Vulcan Classic Lt over a softail deluxe or heritage. Get the se look, same sound with a good set of aftermarket pipes. And ya get that without the Harley price lol Plus, way more reliability from the Vulcan than any harley lol
Donnie Darko I hate to admit it, but I love the metrics too. Not all of them, some are but ugly, but I like the better looking ones. What KAWI did you have?
Ya'all are gonna think l am getting old and a bit crazy and you may be correct... I bought a new Vulcan 900 custom in '07and absolutely love it! I usually go only for the fastest machines available but settled for a midsize cruiser due to my wife's constant worrying. It was a blessing in disguise. This is the best handling streetbike I have ever owned and I've been riding all of my capable life. Especially for a cruiser, this ""little" (I remember when a 750 was the biggest baddest thing on 2 wheels!) gem is the most enjoyable ride ever. It's no H2, but wasn't designed to be. However it's more than adequate around town or cross country and I intend to ride it til I die. Good review my man.👍👍👍
I love this bike. I have a 2016 VN900 custom, white. I live in Perú and have travelled to Cali, Colombia, 5200 kilometers of journey. I really enjoyed riding it. It is a simple, reliable and beautiful bike. Just start, seat and enjoy it.
Yes, that's the point!!!! You get cool style, good tech and a bike that will never give you problems. That's especially important on a long road trip like that. I love Peru, I've visited four times. Sometime I want to do a motorcycle tour there, like from Cusco to Aquas Calientes or around Arequipa. Thanks for watching the video.
@@FreddySherman Well, If tou like to visit and ride around the country. The best weather is from may to november. No rain in the coast, highland and the jungle. You can start from 0 meters above the sea, 4 hors later being riding above 4,818 meters altitude and finally arriving in 5 hours more into the jungle. Find the route Lima to Pucallpa. You will love.
Thank you for watching. That's what I'm trying to do, just a regular guy giving his opinion. And yes, not immersed in the industry at all and a once or twice a month rider.
This bike does not look like a Fatboy. You’re getting a lot more features with a Harley, and the price is gonna be different since this bike is a 900, while the 17 Fatboy S has over 1800cc. Good review of the Vulcan though.
I agree with you about everything (especially the great review) but I do think it resembles a FatBoy, especially to people who don't know bikes. It's intentionally, Kawasaki is trying to appeal tothat HD audience. Thanks for watching the video.
The Vulcan 900 is a legendary bike now 6 years later. My buddy just got one TODAY and I'll be getting mine soon... EDIT : I forgot to mention my buddy is 72 and a lifelong Harley Davidson rider, but no more. He said the Vulcan does everything better.
Just needs a bigger engine! The Fatboy has a 1364ish engine. Hard to beat that.🤷 Don't get wrong though, I ride a '09 Vulcan 900 and I absolutely love my beauty....just wish Kawasaki still offered the 1300cc or 1500cc option. The 1700 weight a ton.
Good review. I just bought myself a 2019 Vulcan S as I am a new rider and when the time comes will upgrade to a Vulcan Classic or Custom. I've always loved Harley's but cannot justify buying a bike that costs twice the price purely on name!! Kawasaki make great cruisers and my Vulcan S is a great start, I love it!! 😁
Very cool and I agree with you 100 percent. It's a great first bike and gives you nice power, a very cool look and bulletproof reliability, all at a reasonable price. But remember the Harley engine on the comparable Softail is twice as big, that's why the cost is a lot more.
I own a 2011 900 custom, harley tour pack, harley hard bags, ultimate aftermarket seat, cobra slash down pipes and other goodies. Bought new and love it. Owned other kawasaki bikes, 2003 636 and 09 zx6r. The vulcan is great for trips like new Hampshire to Lake placid NY every year and trips to Daytona bike week. Only complaint was the factory seat was curved causing a forward butt slide while riding but resolved with the ultimate seat which I highly recommend. Otherwise great bike!!!
Great info, thank you very much for watching and for your comment. I agree, it's a great, bulletproof bike! Please subscribe to my channel, I hope to review the 2022 model next month.
I rented one of these in Latvia and loved it, handsome bike & so easy to live with, and all the power you really need. If I turned back the clock to when I was looking for my first bike after learning on a Honda CB600F, this would be on my list for sure, and might still be if hadn’t become accustomed to the power of my M1800R. If the M1800R ever gets too much for me, I couskd be very happy riding this.
Totally agree! Keep in mind they do have a bigger version with a 1700cc motor, the Vaquero. Were you on a motorcycle vacation in Latvia, that seems fascinating! Thanks for watching and please subscribe to my channel.
I've got an 09 custom with a mustang seat, cobra pipes, K&N big air intake, cobra tuner and a set of lockable soft bags. Will be adding the Baron custom front and rear pulley and 200mm back tire this year. Love this bike
@@elijahclark6093 very cool. I really do think it's a great bike very cool looks and style easy to ride and of course bulletproof reliability. have fun 👍
@@FreddySherman I really cant wait to have it home. It's previous owner had good taste so it's got a full vance and Haynes, a fuel programmer and couple other little goodies and under 5k miles. I'm looking forward to owning it for a very long time.
I tracked down a 2017 Vulcan 900 in a Miami dealer's showroom, (didn't care for the 2018 Black and Green) and just picked it up two days ago, (Sat July 7th). Rides great. Though I have to admit, I wish they still made cruisers with the style of the old LTD 1000. I've had two of them and just loved those bikes. Been coast to coast on them, twice.
Very cool, enjoy the bike! I will look up the LTD to see what you mean. I sure thought the Vulcan was really comfortable and easy to move around since it's so low.
Very different ride. I love the Z bikes, I reviewed the Z650 ruclips.net/video/wd_zzOSyd-Q/видео.html and I've also ridden the Z900RS. This is much more vtwin, Harley style.
I have a2013 vn900c just like that one. Same coloring. I've upgraded the exhaust to the down swept Vance and Hines, hypercharger air box, taller more narrow rear tire, Harley sportster handlebars, smoked glass windscreen, LED headlight, the LED rear all In one lights and removed the blinkers and side mounted license plate. I'm turning it into a bobber by next summer. I love this bike but will be getting a street glide in a few months. Then a hyabusa
I need one of these bad boys for a better cruising set up especially with the bigger tank. I bobbed out my current bike to where it becomes uncomfortable for longer than 1hr rides, but I still love it. How tall are you btw?
Although I have ridden and reviewed other Kawasaki bikes, this is the only Vulcan model I've ridden. I didn't notice any issues with the front tire size, I rode this bike a lot on streets and freeway too. Thanks for watching and please subscribe.
i have the identical bike, but i put bags and a shield on mine. it's ok, not the favorite bike i ever had. i have no real complaints though. for what it is, it's priced well, and reliable. i'll probably trade it in this summer, just so i can try something i've never had before.
Thanks for watching. I think a windshield is a key thing, especially for highway riding, I wish this one had one. What do you think you will trade it for?
Yeah... unfortunately that ignition switch is the ONLY thing I do not like on my 900 custom. It's ok to copy Harley I guess, but why copy their stupid shit? Ign switch below the seat makes as much sense as opening your trunk to start your car... Almost. Great bike tho.
I don't know if that's a good price, but I'm sure you will like the bike. I recommend paying to have a Kawasaki dealer check it out mechanically, unless you're a mechanic. Thank you for watching, let me know if you scoop it up!
I agree. Always check the title when you buy a used vehicle and have a professional mechanic inspect it. I would also call the police and confirm it's not stolen.
I have a 2011 VN900 Custom, its a nice bike, but compared to the Suzuki's I have had before it's quite hard to start, almost never on the first go, and sometimes only on the 3rd press of the starter. Do you have this problem with your bike?
Thank you for watching. It's not my bike, it was a Kawasaki press bike lent to me for the review. I had it for two weeks and didn't have any problems starting it, it always fired up on the first push of the starter.
Yes, good for a beginner, low and easy to control. Yes, good on long drives with no vibration, I drove it 100 miles at a time. You do really need the optional windshield as it can be windy at freeway speeds without one and that's uncomfortable.
My last bike was a '83 Honda Shadow. I wish I still had it but it needed a little more power and another gear. I bet a 900 would be perfect. I'm torn between a Triumph Speedmaster, Indian Scout, Kawasaki Vulcan, or maybe an older Harley soft tail. For the price it would be hard to beat the Vulcan. The Custom is sexy!
Don't forget about reliability!!! the Vulcan will never break down or leave you stranded, ever. We all know that cannot be said for a Triumph, Indian or especially an older HD!!! Thanks for watching, please subscribe as I will have a review of the 2021 Vulcan soon.
Fred, I'm looking for a bike in that class. One question, I'm 5'9" but have shorter legs. How tall are you and how do the forward controls work for you?
I'm very short, about 5'6" and no problems at all. It's a very low bike and the controls are easy to reach. You won't have any problems. Thank you for watching the video and please subscribe, I have some new Kawasaki reviews coming next month.
Luxury Fred I thought I had, sorry about that! But I'm subscribed now and want to thank you for taking the time to do this video. I'm currently thinking about what bike to get, and this is one of my choices. The other one is the Yamaha Bolt. The Vulcan has the advantage of a larger fuel tank, which would allow me to take longer rides without refueling as often. I wouldn't want to hold up a group.
@@kencohagen4967 Thanks again for watching. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. The Bolt seems to have a more stripped down, old school look.
Excuse my ignorance but which classic do you mean? This is the only Vulcan I have ridden. How does it compare to a Harley? The engine and power feel is the main difference I think. Thanks for watching and please subscribe!
Nice review Fred! I ride the 900 Classic and absolutely love it. Next time you’re out and about in Palm Springs share the ride... I’d like to the more of the landscape. What helmet are you wearing in this video? Ride safe brother!
Thank you, I will. I'll check, on one of the videos I filmed the entire ride down from Idyllwild to Palm Desert and you can see a lot of landscape. Most people just want to see the bike! The silver helmet is a cheap one from a Harley dealer. The 3/4 one is a Harley-Davidson helmet. I don't use either one now, I got a Schuberth C3 Pro full-face (that review is also on my RUclips channel).
I really enjoyed riding the bike. I think this model has the least chrome of any Vulcan but I guess you could strip it down even further. Thanks for watching.
I'm sorry you will have to look that up and see if someone made a video about it. I am a motorcycle writer so I only get the bike for a few weeks to review and then I have to give it back to Kawasaki. Thank you very much for watching and please subscribe to my channel.
I'm sorry about that, I try to give a close-up look of everything, but sometimes I'm too distracted talking about a part to make sure I'm filming it well.
I watched your video back in 2017, when I was looking for reviews on the 2017 Vulcan 900 Custom. At the time, I think you were the only person to review one. I got a chance to test ride one, and it came down to buying either the Vulcan or a 2015 HD Fat Bob on Craigslist. I ended up going for the Fat Bob, because between the two, it felt more right for me. I will say that the Vulcan 900 Custom was an awesome bike. I love how it handled and I even enjoyed the sound of the stock exhaust. I highly recommend that bike to anyone who wants a good cruiser. It's a really good bike. I especially liked the 2017 colors, like yours.
Thanks for watching. This was a Kawasaki press bike, not my personal bike. I think it's still the only 2017 video, it sure gets a lot of views. I would choose the Fat Bob for style and coolness but would be a bit nervous on reliability. You know that Vulcan will run forever and always start, I'm not sure about a Harley. A lot depends on how well the previous owner maintained it and whether he beat it up riding it.
I've had my Fat Bob for nearly 3 years now. The only problem I've had with it was that it wouldn't start with the clutch pressed in while it was in gear. I got it fixed and haven't had any other problems with it. I absolutely love my Fat Bob. My wife's brand new Nissan gave her more problems. Also, Harley's reputation from its AMF days still haunt it. Harleys are way more reliable today.
Me too, they really are great bikes that both look and run great. I'm hoping to get a Vaquero to review, their big cruiser. Thanks for watching and please subscribe to my channel!
I have 2007 Honda shadow VT750C2 and I really like it :-). And my next bike probably will be this bike :-). Thanks for sharing video. Also, may I ask what brand & model of the helmet you wear in this video? because I really like it. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching it! In the opening scenes it's just a random chrome helmet, no name brand. It is DOT approved with full padding. Second helmet is a Harley-Davidson brand 3/4 helmet, probably 10 years old. Now I only wear this Schuberth C3 Pro: ruclips.net/video/_ZFKzNg7kJ0/видео.html
@@kenniitran Only a full face helmet can really protect your entire head. The C3 Pro is full face, but you can lift the front section up when you're stopped or riding slowly. I also like how quiet a full-face helmet is especially for freeway riding, which I do a lot of here in LA.
I just passed my MSF course and now I ride my bother's 900cc Kawasaki Vulcan 2006 (still brand new with 5k miles on it). At first, I hated it due to its tons of weight but after riding it for 20 miles, it was really easy. Second of all, this is the WELL-Balanced bike as I drove it on highway for 60 miles and now I'm trying to get the same bike as his LOL!
Very cool, thanks for watching the video. You should get one, they are awesome bikes. They have a few different models of the Vulcan, this was the Vulcan Custom.
Awesome. I passed my MSF course a few months ago and purchased a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 900. I love my bike, perfect weight and has the speed if you need it. I bought it with 9850 miles on it and what I paid for it, I basically stole it.
MrBigAnj Congrats dude! So I ended up buying the Vulcan 2008 with 16k miles but price I paid is......$2500....this weekend. All I need is to register and get going! :)
And I bet you've never had a single problem with it! They are great bikes. Thank you for watching and for your comment, please subscribe to my channel as I doing another Kawasaki next month (the big Vaquero).
I was out that way a couple years ago doing some training at 29 Palms, had a chance to go to the Apple Valley, nice place. My ride is a 2014 Vaquero, Kawasaki has done wonders with their bikes and competing with Harley. I wish they'd update the Vaquero line though, it has been the same bike since its inception in 2011.
Thanks for watching the video. That's a great bike and I think it's better than a Harley. I haven't tried one, I'm a short guy, it might be too big. I have ridden the Street King a lot, so maybe not. I could see how awesome the Vulcan would be with that bigger engine. I haven't been to Apple Valley but often ride and drive on the 74 which is an awesome road. Thanks for your service (to Canada, right?).
No, I think it would be a bit small for you and a bit underpowered. They have the bigger Vulcan Vaquero and Vulcan Voyager, both have the 1700 cc motor and are bigger bikes.
Id say it depends on what you want to do with it. Its not gonna break any land speed records. I have a 2013 Vulcan 900 custom and im 5'8 300lbs. Moves my ass easy. Keep the rubber side down. 🤘😎
So true is this guy for real he says his name 3 times and the bike as well 3 times buddy hey Freddy edit before uploading it's a bit weird sorry to back. And have a look at your video come on like how old are you or your viewers kids noooo adults yeah adults and sound like you are not well sir sorry Three times the same thing aiiiii mamma Mia
Looking to get my mate a 900 vulcan as his starter bike. But no way in hell does it compete with my 107 harley. But then again i am paying about double of what he is. Get what you pay for. That said. The 900 vulcan is a fucking beauty. Wish i started on that instead of my 535 yamaha virago. I might have not have felt the need to upgrade so fast as i did.
I agree. But to most non-riders, it has the Harley look, which is what a lot of riders want! I love Harleys, but with this you also get bulletproof reliability. Maintain it and we both know the Vulcan will never break down or leave you stranded. You can't say that about your 107! Thanks for watching and please subscribe to my channel. I'm working on some new Kawasaki reviews right now!
@@FreddySherman hmm that argument on Harley whould have been true on the amf bikes harley made. They were garbage. But nowadays harley ranks 5th in the world. Kawasaki being 4th place. Just diffrent build bikes. But each sure has their place. Sure love that vulcan 900. But bike to bike the 107 will win. But it's a whole diffrent class of bike on it's own. Like comparing the vulcan 900 to a virago 535. Doesnt mean 1 is the better bike. Each have their place.
@@TheNostorian I agree there is no comparison. It just has the Harley look. The engine is half the size!! I didn't know that about modern HD reliability, that surprises me. A better comparison might be the Vulcan 1700 Vaquero which is much bigger with a bigger, HD-sized engine.
@@FreddySherman pretty sure they go toe to toe. Vaquero my bet will have the advantage. Being liquid cooled and all. Comes down to taste at that point. Hard choice at that point. Bummer i never see any other vulcan than a 650s in dealership floors. Whould def love to test ride a 1700 vulcan.
@@TheNostorian I agree. Also it's about buying American-made if that is important to you. I think they sell all the Vaqueros they make, I can't even get one to review. They usually have bikes in their press fleet for motorcycle writers and they never have Vaqueros.
How short are you lol? Your legs are straight out. I'm really looking at this bike for the end of next season when my credit is hopefully where it needs to be by then. Only issue is the 2018 version is going to be fucking green with no other color choices. Not sure what I'll do. I LOVE the look of the Vulcan S, but that damn engine just kills it for me.
@@FreddySherman 👍🏼👍🏼The 650S have also ABS. The 900 need a upgrade, this bike is almost perfect, but not changed since 2006. Led, abs, double front brake, a 6th gear, ... Kawa have some job to do.
I hate my 900.... I have a 2013 and I think it has SUCH a lack of power. Maybe its because im 6ft 3 250lbs? I twist the throttle and its like im waiting for the power to hit.
It could be. I weigh 100 pounds less, that's a big difference on a bike with a small-ish engine. You need that Vulcan 1700 Vaquero with a Harley-sized engine.
I haven't ridden it that fast but yes I think it's powerful enough to reach that speed. I wrote it a lot on the freeway here in Los Angeles and it was very easy to take it up to 80 or 85
@@FreddySherman I see. I ask because I want this to use for long rides with my fiancee, we together weight about 400 pounds, could it get to 80mph with us both on the bike? Thanks for replying by the way.
@@OverBanned That might a bit much for this bike. I'm small and I weigh 140. I recommend you test ride one with your girl to really see how it rides with both of you. Remember they have the bigger version, the Vulcan Vaquero and the Vulcan Voyager with the 1700 cc engine.
@@OverBanned Thank you. I do think it would get to 80 with both of you on it, but I think 400 pounds will really affect the performance of a 900. If you want to cruise and don't want to zip around, it's probably fine. That's why a test ride is best.
Thanks for the info. That's just about my height too. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to ride a bike like that. Great video!! That bike really draws attention due to its dark and agressive style, and also to its size.
i'd buy one if it werent for that skinny ass front wheel. i know i could just change it out but fuck it i dont want to have to change shit out. will probably end up getting a v star thats the only thing my tall ass fits on.
I think it's better, especially if you don't care about the mystical HD brand. The Fat Boy is cooler, but this bike will go 100K miles without a problem. You can't say that about a Harley. Also, you could let this bike sit for 6 months and it will still start right up and run fine, not a Harley! If money didn't matter to me, I would get the Harley. But in reality, I think this is a better bike. Thanks for watching and please subscribe.
@@FreddySherman I understand what you are saying and agree to an extent. I do realize how reliable the Metrics are, and as I stated I love them Kawasaki in particular. I learned to ride on a 1979 KZ 750 before moving on to 1982 GPZ 1100 before moving onto the cruiser world I have ridden and owned several metric cruiser and Harleys. While I do agree on Harley is higher maintenance it is a better bike forget the cool factor as I don't care about that, however riding a Fatboy is always going to be more fun than a Vulcan 900.......Your argument for the Vulcan being a better is not true....Certainly a better value, However value alone does not make it a better bike some Like I will pay for the experience as it's not the same.
@@FreddySherman I love the Vaquero 1700 great bike not certain for me that it would be a fair comparison to the Fatboy as the set is much different, however I would still contend that while the Vaquero is a better Value and Damn nice bike the Fatboy or to compete with the Vaquero maybe a street Glide or Road Glide the Kawasaki is a much better value. I have ridden a 2014 Vaquero from Washington State to Texas fabulous bike truly. I at the end of the day I feel if your deciding factor is Value I agree with you if you are saying it is a better bike all around I disagree respectfully. The fit and finish on a Harley or Indian is better than the metric bikes in my opinion. I am not a Harley fanboy but also don't dislike them cause some of the folks that ride them and their HD culture bullshit.
@@davidelam7869 See, you know the details better than I do!! I think it all comes down to personal opinion, which experience you prefer. In talking about all this, I would probably agree the HD is better than the Kawasaki for a multitude of reasons but mainly for the pure riding experience itself. Thanks again for watching and for the great discussion. This video has a lot of views, people really seem to like it (or the bike!).
First, thank you for watching. There was too much wind noise on that footage to use the audio. I do have this sound at the beginning when I started the ride, and then I think at the end of the video I did a couple passes with the camera riding by so you can hear the sound again. I just don't like to put up audio where it's distorted by the wind that just sounds really bad.
I think you need to decide that. It's much, much cheaper and looks almost the same, but has a much smaller engine. I think you would want to test ride both bikes to see which one you prefer. Thanks for watching and please subscribe, I have more Kawasaki reviews coming next month.
@@corneilcorneil And did you go to my www.luxuryfred.com website? It's very cool. For specs, you can go to other channels or the Kawasaki website, I'm not an expert, just a casual rider. I compared it to the Harley Softail multiple times, that's the closest bike I've ridden to it. Thanks for watching.
I understand, but I didn't experience that. I had it right up to 100 mph with no vibrations and no super high revs. It is a 900 so it can easily do triple digits without much stress, whether it's 5 or 6 speed. I agree if you were going to do a lot of freeway cruising, 6 speeds is better.
Different, not better. Although the look is very similar, this engine is much smaller and this bike is half the price. A better comparison is the Vaquero, with the 1700cc engine. I think you need to test ride both to see which you like better.
@@FreddySherman I loved the sound but my earbuds are too loud and it was at the lowest setting I thought I was gonna blow my eardum, beautiful sounding bike though

OK, I see you found this video! Yes, it's a great bike on all levels, looks, performance, style and reliability!!
Just needs a bigger engine! The Fatboy has a 1364ish engine. Hard to beat that.🤷
Don't get wrong though, I ride a '09 Vulcan 900 and I absolutely love my beauty....just wish Kawasaki still offered the 1300cc or 1500cc option. The 1700 weight a ton.
I’ve got a Vulcan 900 with Arlen big sucker kit Lov it 💙

reckon it gives it an extra 10 hp I wouldn’t say it extra ten but it definitely makes a difference 😎😎
@@notasheep5905 good to know. I went to the Arlen Ness website to check it out.
Great choice Brother
Nice angles man... Looks Great!
Appreciate it! Loved riding that bike.
I've got an 09 custom with a mustang seat, cobra pipes, K&N big air intake, cobra tuner and a set of lockable soft bags. Will be adding the Baron custom front and rear pulley and 200mm back tire this year. Love this bike

Great review. I like my Vulcan 900 Classic a lot.
Thanks for watching, I think it's a great bike.
Thanks for watching, your bike sounds amazing, great upgrades and changes. I do think I would keep the Vulcan handlebars, I like the drag bars.
I need one of these bad boys for a better cruising set up especially with the bigger tank. I bobbed out my current bike to where it becomes uncomfortable for longer than 1hr rides, but I still love it. How tall are you btw?
It's a great bike. They also have the larger version with the 1700 engine (Vaquero). I am short, about 5'7".
How does it feel compared to the classic with that thin front tire?
@@FreddySherman i'm looking for a valkyrie

the Vulcan custom also adds the side ignition switch, a lower to the ground gunfighter seat, and a thin 21" front wheel.
Yes sir!
Yeah... unfortunately that ignition switch is the ONLY thing I do not like on my 900 custom. It's ok to copy Harley I guess, but why copy their stupid shit? Ign switch below the seat makes as much sense as opening your trunk to start your car... Almost. Great bike tho.
I found a 2016 900 with less than 7,000 miles on it for under 6 grand. Thinking about scooping it up.
I don't know if that's a good price, but I'm sure you will like the bike. I recommend paying to have a Kawasaki dealer check it out mechanically, unless you're a mechanic. Thank you for watching, let me know if you scoop it up!
id get it!!!!! as long as its clean title!!
I agree. Always check the title when you buy a used vehicle and have a professional mechanic inspect it. I would also call the police and confirm it's not stolen.
It's from a local dealer. Doesn't matter though somebody else got it last week.
That's a more reliable source. Keep looking, I'm sure there are others out there.
2014 900 custom and it always starts- every time.
I had one for 5 years, with a charged battery, I never had a problem starting mine.
Does it shake a lot and is it good for long drives? 40 min plus maybe? and would you recommend this for a beginner?
Yes, good for a beginner, low and easy to control. Yes, good on long drives with no vibration, I drove it 100 miles at a time. You do really need the optional windshield as it can be windy at freeway speeds without one and that's uncomfortable.
Khan's Collection i have one of those i rode it from Colorado all the way to mazatlan Mexico and love it
Khan's Collection that's like 2000
It shakes just a little at idle. As soon as you're above idle at all, it's smooth.
I picked this bike up last year. Love it!
I loved it too!
I have had Harley's in the pas when they break down and they do it's money money I have bought a kawsaki custom 900 love it
Fred, I'm looking for a bike in that class.
How does this compare to the classic?
Excuse my ignorance but which classic do you mean? This is the only Vulcan I have ridden. How does it compare to a Harley? The engine and power feel is the main difference I think.

@@FreddySherman as in the older more traditional Harley looking vulcans

I am considering the Classic or the Custom, any thoughts on this?
still more chrome than I want on a bike, but, she's lovely!
I really enjoyed riding the bike. I think this model has the least chrome of any Vulcan but I guess you could strip it down even further. Thanks for watching.
So paint the chrome pink and call it a flamer
Will you pls show how to set the clock .on this wonderful beast . Thank you
I'm sorry you will have to look that up and see if someone made a video about it. I am a motorcycle writer so I only get the bike for a few weeks to review and then I have to give it back to Kawasaki. Thank you very much for watching and please subscribe to my channel.
Nice view of the tank and gauges when you were showing them...all I saw was the wall ahead of you and the handlebars.
@@zam5704 Good to hear. I agree modern HDs are reliable, but alot depends on the maintenance. Enjoy it!!

@@kenniitran Only a full face helmet can really protect your entire head. The C3 Pro is full face, but you can lift the front section up when you're stopped or riding slowly. I also like how quiet a full-face helmet is especially for freeway riding, which I do a lot of here in LA.

They're just so bulletproof. I did a Kawasaki press ride in Utah, they said ride them as hard as you want, you can't break them!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😎
I love the Vulcan all of them however NO it is not better than a Fat Boy
@@davidelam7869 alright then what if you compare it to the vaquero which has almost the same size engine 1600 ccs
This video has a lot of views, people really seem to like it (or the bike!).
im riding insert bike name and now listen and he flips his visor down and im expecting to hear bike sounds but hear nothing but music....
Hate those chrome otherwise it's a nice bike
Hate those chrome what? The S is the most blacked-oout Vulcan you can get.
@@FreddySherman no way, it's a learner bike
@@MARKINAU8 I agree. But it's a good bike, good price and solid reliability.
@@MARKINAU8 But you wrote "hate those chrome" and then nothing, I was wondering what you were referring to.
don't rub the chrome homie!
Is this better than a Harley-Davidson???
I think you need to decide that. It's much, much cheaper and looks almost the same, but has a much smaller engine. I think you would want to test ride both bikes to see which one you prefer. Thanks for watching and please subscribe, I have more Kawasaki reviews coming next month.
Good intro
Thanks, love using my drone!
That was a review ??
That was a comment ??
No review, almost no specs, no comparison, ... more a advertisement for a website.
Other than price, not much of a comparison.
Much cheaper, much more reliable and kind of a similar look.
The opening segment with the drone was nice. Good music, too. You look Jewish.
Thank you for watching and shalom.
got to have a six gear box
I agree, but the gearing was pretty good and I had no problems, even at freeway speeds.
Luxury Fred up to 85 Miles u feel intense vibrations...there u see the need of it
I understand, but I didn't experience that. I had it right up to 100 mph with no vibrations and no super high revs. It is a 900 so it can easily do triple digits without much stress, whether it's 5 or 6 speed. I agree if you were going to do a lot of freeway cruising, 6 speeds is better.
Luxury Fred i had 3 Vulcan.. a nomad 1500cc 2001..2 vulcan classic one LT.. the 900.i start with 09 and then junped to LT 2012
Luxury Fred i Saw a Guy selling a pulley with 2 more teeth try that
Thanks for not giving any opinions or insight. Total waste of time.
The important thing is that you watched the video. For that, I thank you.
And your RUclips screen name is quite accurate!
You never even answered your question....
Different, not better. Although the look is very similar, this engine is much smaller and this bike is half the price. A better comparison is the Vaquero, with the 1700cc engine. I think you need to test ride both to see which you like better.
Rip headphone users
You didn't like the sound?
@@FreddySherman I loved the sound but my earbuds are too loud and it was at the lowest setting I thought I was gonna blow my eardum, beautiful sounding bike though
@@KairuSaintSlayer Haha, sorry and thanks for watching!
Look at all of.the hatevotes from Harley fanboys...
They may hate the review not the bike!
imo, a poor comparison test
It's not a comparison test my friend, it's a review of the Vulcan! Thanks for watching and please subscribe, I am reviewing the 2023 Vulcan next month.
matt black, cost me £3.3 rattle cans from poundland.its bullshit buying a new bike thats matt black.matt black looks good on 30-40 year old bikes.
intro makes me dizzy
I suggest cannabis to relieve the dizzyness.
Me too. Suggesting cannabis ... hope that you meet a cannabis user when you ride your bike. You will change your opinion.
I own a fatboy and this bike looks nothing like a fatboy.
To me, it looks a bit like the Fat Boy Lo.
dude, get a microphone.
Dude, thanks for watching.
Will a 5'7 guy have a hard time with this bike
Not at all, it's very low.
You can order the lowering kit or extend the original link with 1 till 1,5 cm it will lower the bike aprox 7 cm
@@corneilcorneil Thank you for the info.
I'm 5'7" and bought one way back in 2013, great bike for my short legs. No need to even think about a lowering kit.
@@peter1969uk I agree. I did just have the Z900RS and that was a bit tall for me. Thanks for watching.
