    i500 Standard Loft, Black Dot, AWT Stiff Shaft...absolutely love these irons. Been gaming them for a year and a half.

    Play the i500s (Blue Dot +1/2" KBS Tour V 110 S) as a 2 hcp. Three things are undeniable... 1) They look amazing, 2) they feel like garbage, and 3) they are super forgiving on misses. Sold my 2 sets of Srixons after 2 weeks with these. The tech is real, and I'll eventually get used to the horrendous acoustics. Got the Power Spec, because at my swing speed (112 mph driver), the velocity means more height and stopping power. The gaps between the long irons takes a moment, but the short iron gaps are easy. Ping was smart with this as always because most people don't have healthy enough gaps between their long irons.

    All i play is ping except for my wedges ( titleist ) and putter ( scotty ). My i500’s are the best irons ive ever owned hands down. So forgiving, go a mile and look beautiful. Best looking irons on the market!! Nice video

    Tried The blueprint irons and totally agree on your assessment of the firm feel. Coming from Mizuno MP 18 SC irons I did not care for the feel I also felt like I spun the blueprints too much

    I am currently doing a combo set with the i500 and Blueprint - currently i500 4-8 and Blueprint 9-PW (power spec) but I'm considering adding 6-8 or at least 8 in power spec. Great clubs both of them and I agree with all you had to say Dan.

    Blueprints in the bag now for just over a week (4-PW), fantasic irons. Wouldn't consider split set with i500's, no issue with 4-iron profile in the blueprints and yardage gaps are solid... plus my OCD would drive me crazy if I had two 5-iron's.

    I own the I 500 iron and love them a couple of my friends have changed from blades to the I 500 and can’t believe the difference not losing anything in looks and feel just gaining performance there worst rounds when not striking there blades was 81 / 82 now on a bad ball striking day with the I 500 77 / 78 huge differences for cat 1 golfers. Why make the game harder by using blades time to get with the modern program and we all have retro loft that ping offers

    I500 seems to be the better choice...flys higher with 10 yds more carry...little less in spin but with the extra hieght shouldn't be much different in stopping...nice review Dan

  • @justinstephenson9360
    @justinstephenson9360 5 лет назад

    Completely agree with Dan about how similar the 2 clubs look, the Blueprint looks as though it is an i500 after it went on a Crossfield diet!
    If I remember the original reviews of the i500, the main concern was inconsistent gapping between clubs. Given how well the i500 performed in Dan's hands, Dan's idea of a combo set is a really good one. Personally my lowest iron is a 5i so I could comfortably see the 6i & 7i from i500 replacing the Blueprint 5i & 6i.
    However, I still would not change my i210s.

    i500 a fantastic set of clubs, very impressed with mine. Having tried them against the i210, I found them more forgiving but this is very interesting regarding a combo set of i500 and Blueprints... Something I might consider after some tweaks to my game.

    I have tried them both and could game either one. I would game the Blueprint since it's close to the same loft to what I play now. I like traditional lofts. Yeah, its cool to say I am hitting 8 iron 150yds, but 30° 8 iron is what my 7 iron is. They definitely don't feel like a typical Ping iron. Much softer

  • @sirtogii5216
    @sirtogii5216 5 лет назад

    Tried the i500 and really liked them but ended up getting a second hand set of PXG's 0311 first generation just to see what the fuss was all about. Maybe slightly softer feel than the i500 I have to say with similar (very good) performance. Not feeling any need to change for sure and just not consistent enough for the blades. Had S58's back in the day and they're the sweetest clubs I've hit even against the Mizunos off that era but Im just not good enough...

    Smash factor and then ball speed was higher with i500, there's loft and shaft lenght to consider, strike probably, but is there a CT/COR limit on irons ? Could it be COR is a little better on i500?

    • @MrAir67

      The i500 is hollow body that's where its getting most of the ball speed (using face flex) besides what you said about loft and length.

    In short, Ping crushed it with both of these. I think the i500 are some of the best clubs ever made. They look amazing and can suit a wide range of golfers with their various loft options. The blueprint is always going to be a tough on for ping since forged blades aren't really their thing, But I think they made the best out of the situation with those for sure.

  • @Js_Son83
    @Js_Son83 5 лет назад

    Now a days companys are increasingly the lofts. If they increase the lofts on clubs and there is no set standards for lofts. How would you compare, head to head against 7 iron vs another companys 7 iron if the lofts are different? So if you do compare two companys irons that's the same lofts, the shaft might be different length. That'll be kinda hard to compare now.

    I would disagree with Dan's Ax and many of the comments regarding the feel. I hit these side by side against the TW blades and these felt lovely and soft, some of the nicest feeling blades I've hit and I currently play MP37s. Each to his own I guess.

  • @How2HateYT
    @How2HateYT 5 лет назад +3

    Gotta say i500 is the better club. 10 extra yards, almost the same spin, higher peak. So it's going further, stopping faster and I'd say is probably easier to play.

    • @codelltaylor
      @codelltaylor 5 лет назад +2

      I think you missed the part where he explained that the i500 has 3.5* less loft - so it should be going farther, with less spin, which is exactly what's happening. Just because they both say 7 on the bottom doesn't mean it's a 1 to 1 comparison.

    • @How2HateYT
      @How2HateYT 5 лет назад +6

      @@codelltaylor I think you missed the part where they were spinning almost the same. The lower lofted i500 was still peaking higher which means itll stop faster.
      You're focused on just the loft. Yet the lower lofted club is peaking higher and is within 200 rpm spin. Who cares what the loft is if you're getting better performance across the board.

    I found it interesting but it would have been cool for you to compare a 8i i500 vs 7i BP or even 9i i500 vs 8i BP, more of your 150 yds in clubs with comparable lofts? It's tough because 7i i500 has slightly soft loft of 6i BP but 1/2" shorter club length?! So a lot of math going on. I would guess mid-to high handicappers would start to struggle with 5i i500 like they might with 4i in the BP or traditional lofts of 4i's?! So playing 4i in a 5i length is interesting, but in theory, couldn't you just order entire Blueprint set 1/2" short?? Then your 4i BP would be 2 yds further than 5i i500 but NOW you're able to hit your 4i LOL 😆 Bottom line is that blades will ALWAYS reign Supreme for working a ball the way you are needing it too. The rotational MOI of larger clubs CANNOT create same sidespin a player wants to impart at impact, and with most formerly 100 compression balls now at 105 or even 110 for high swing speeds, next to impossible for that pro to get i500s to do what they can do with blueprint?! That's my humble two cents. But then again, I asked my first teaching pro what hardest irons to learn on would be, so I had 1986 used Titleist Tour Model blades and driver and 3w were persimmon all shafted in S400s, tipped to D4 SW. And used 90 balata balls (Titleist red numbers). And I became teaching pro in 2 1/2 yrs with 8 handicap! (Got down to 0.1).
