Great video! The detail is appreciated. Love the channel and it has been so helpful for learning Affinity, most of what I know comes from you sir, thank you. I can't really tell the dress has been changed, it's always hard because we know exactly what we changed but most people aren't looking at photos from an editing perspective... I used your background video to help save a couple portraits and no one was the wiser (but I knew lol)

Thank you so much for the kind words!
Yeah. It’s hard to look at our work objectively because my eye always go to what I know I’ve changed. But I can also say I’ve never had anyone notice any of the edits or changes I’ve made to their portraits. And sometimes when I show them the things I’ve done light a total head replacement, and majors alterations to a dress, they are really surprised.
I’m glad you found that background video helpful! I’ve actually been thinking about doing an updated video talking more about why I like to shoot against a gray backdrop, and other things you can do to the background.

@@brgphotography I've only been doing portraits since November, shooting mostly cars before that... I've sort of taken to delivering photos to the models and making posters for myself (instagram)... so what I keep for myself can be a little less true to life or cropped purposefully etc. As one of the many not going down the "content aware fill"/"Generative fill" route, I would love to see another background video... Knowledge is power.

@trevorwight4689 I’m the same. I’ll usually deliver more standard type edits for clients, but then I’ll do my own more creative edits for myself.
I have some stuff planned for my new background video which take awhile, but it will be out sometime. 😅 Till then, I do have a new (hopefully) very interesting video coming up soon…

Terrific video: thanks. Quick question: I noticed in your brush sets you had one entitled ‘retouching’. May I ask where you got it from? Seems like a very useful set to have when retouching skin etc.

Hey there! Thank you for the comment!
So, actually I made those brushes. If you click the little icon with the 3 horizontal lines while on the brushes tab, you can create a new brush category. Then I just made a bunch of new round brushes with different settings I often use.
Or, if you like, I put them here so you can download them. :)
