I'm very curious to see how the new S9 SoC changes things going forward on the Apple Watch. I upgraded to the Series 8 from the Series 5 (which I am loving, for about $90 CAD less than the Series 9) and I'm finding it launches basically every app instantly and really doesn't feel it needs more power.
@@ikuturso7570A16 is still significantly faster and more efficient than every single competitor chip except for maybe the SD8G2 which is in the same ballpark while i agree it should have at least 90hz due to it being expensive, on the other side of the situation a lot of average consumers (not techies like us) simply don’t notice 60hz or just simply don’t give 2 shits about it since it’s still fast enough for everyday usage and the animations are fluid charging isn’t slow but even then why is that an issue? just charge the phone during the night then unplug once you wake up. iPhone batteries are significantly better than what they were years ago so they’ll last alot of the day. but if yours doesn’t then just plug it into your car charger while driving or something. it’s literally not an issue same as the refresh rate, A LOT of average consumers don’t even know or care for this due to them using cloud subscriptions like iCloud or Google One
Apple Watch S9 is a settle upgrade at best. The color options on Pro models of 15s are so muted this year. The biggest upgrades are the regular 15/15 Plus models with big camera upgrade, huge brightness of display upgrade, dynamic island & USB C.

My goto channel for quick review of the event! I really wanted variable zoom or at least closer to 10x for me to stick with iPhone, especially with 15 Pro Max at 1,500 euro. Will likely hold for S24 ultra or S23 ultra discounted at that time.
Yeah there was no price increase. Getting 128GB on a Pro Max is like buying a Ferrari with bias ply tires. 😛 Was disappointed with no thunderbolt 4 40Gbps speeds but understandably this is probably due to power constraints. Even so, 10Gbps is ~20X faster than what we got now AND not having to carry around a lightning cable any more is great.
Type c years after everyone else has been using it and 60 fps refresh rate while most top end android devices are already at 120. Apple sure does get a lot of credit for being late and average.
The whole thing was a massive sleep-inducing cure for insomnia and I expected tech journalists with at least some integrity to admit it. Few have so far, and it's disappointing (to say the least) to see some that you trusted completely fail in that regard.

Used to be the only difference between the pro and pro max was the size. The s23 models all got 256gigs of storage. And 120hz refresh rate, no matter which model you bought. The 15 and 15+ still get 60hrtz refresh rate in 2023. Really 🤮. And let's not forget the 15 and 15+ gets last years bionic 16 chip. Samsung gave all the s23s the same snapdragon gen2 chip. Tell me if I'm right or not, but doesn't the 15pro have the same 48mp camera as the 15 and 15+? And don't forget about the titanium frame. Yes, it's stronger than steel and aluminum, but as a jeweler, I know that titanium scratches really easy , no matter how brushed it is. And once it's scratched, there's no buffing it out like you can with steel or aluminum. Better put it in a case. As for cracking the phone. If you go naked with the phone, meaning no case, and you happen to drop your phone, prepare for the front or back to crack much easier. Titanium is less forgiving than steel or aluminum, it doesn't dissipate the shock like the other metals. So the shock of dropping it has to go somewhere, and that is to the weakest point. Ceramic shield. Try dropping a titanium and ceramic ring, which do you think will crack first?

There's nothing new. They've simply repackaged the same phone as iphone 13 with a little bit of cosmetic changes. All these "Hardware" changes are boring, hardly noticeable in real world but costly as hell. Not worth it.
Was really hoping for a 10x optical zoom, but at least the 5x is a step in the right direction. USB-C is neat to see though, even if I think the way some people act about lightning is wild considering Apple was the first to market with a reversible charging cable/port (Android devices wouldn't get USB-C for another 3-4 years or longer if you didn't buy a flagship).

Europe is most likely the biggest winner this year. In germany the prices went down 50€-100€ while getting USB-C, better camera, processor and everything. Now only 3rd party apps/stores need to come to be truely wolderlust.... I mean wonderfull. All this doesn't include the non pro models, they are awfull!
