    Bowflex needs a built-in video game that takes advantage of the Velocore‘s lean mode imo

    Bought the Peloton+ and was happy until I tried the Velocore at a family members house 3 weeks after receiving my Peloton. Needless to say, I returned my Peloton Bike + and ordered the Velocore. Peloton is for people who want to ride with their friends and say they have a Peloton. Velocore is for anyone looking for a workout

    These videos are bad ass for someone looking for a bike. I love my peloton and nothing (in my opinion) can beat it. But it’s cool as hell to see what other bikes have to offer and how you can really choose just whats best for you

      I love indoor cycling bikes but the one downside is how little of the body is engaged. (Why I have fallen in love with rowing) The Velocore does improve on this concern!

    Another good video, Travis. Thanks for all of your help. I watched pretty much all of your vids before making my decision and my final 2 were the Peloton and the Velocore (NordicTrack's record of poor customer service eliminated their offering). Your vids were the most informative and really helped clarify the decision points.
    I still agonized over the decision though. I really liked the features of the Velocore but for the same reasons you discuss in the video I went with the Peloton. While being able to use something like Zwift would have been great, ultimately Peloton is the Champ of this market because of the quality and amount of content. Reducing the price of the bike $400 also made a difference. But I don't think users would go wrong either way buying one or the other.

    Travis, appreciate your videos! I am a regular cyclist, road riding and gravel riding. I like endurance riding, 20, 30, 50 miles, not fast paced spin riding or competing with others. I am tired of trying to use a trainer in the house on my road bike so I decided to give the smart stationary bike a go. I mainly need something to keep my legs in shape during the winter months. I looked at Peloton, nordic track and Bowflex. I am not interested in trainer videos, I would rather have the option to do virtual rides and also have different apps to choose from, like Netflix etc.., also the JRNY membership is more affordable it seems than either Peloton or Nordic track. I believe the JRNY app will only improve over time (updates?). what are your thoughts?

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  2 года назад +1

      I really hope so. The bike feels built to only get better. With the way these connected fitness products are built, companies know they cannot just release a product and never do anything again. They have to continue to improve, push our more features, improve content... all that stuff. If they do not, they will be forgotten in this space. So, I have to believe Bowflex realizes this and the bike will continue to improve and do more.

    Purchased the Bike Plus back in June 2021. For the past couple of months I’ve been experiencing pedal crank noise & wobbly handlebar issues. I contacted Peleton tech support, sent them uploaded videos and I was told that replacement parts were going to be ordered and shipped directly to me, a third party vendor is going to contact me to schedule an appointment to replace the parts. Frankly, I didn’t spend nearly $3K for the bike & extended warranty to have a third party vendor come out to troubleshoot. I’m not too happy about that. It makes me feel like PELETON is no different than Nordictrack. So keep that in mind before you spend your hard earned money.

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  2 года назад

      It looks neat but built specifically to maximizing the Zwift experience. So, before you do anything, test Zwift and make sure you thoroughly love that structure. I do struggle with the price of the bike considering it does not come with a screen or pedals. But I get it, to fully take advantage of the Zwift experience, you need some extra tech other bikes do not include. I have never tested it but I could see where hardcore Zwift riders would like this option.

    Hey, thanks for your reviews; they are very helpful. One thing I really think I will like is the scenic rides in various locales. You mention that Peloton has only three guided rides of this type. Does the VeloCore have ANY at all?

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  2 года назад

      Thank you so much Eric! As of last check the Velocore did not have any and Peloton still only has the 3. Your choices are probably the iFit bikes (NordicTrack S22i & Proform Studio Pro 22) and Stryde because you can load iFit on it. I did grab the updated S22i bike and posted a video on that if you find it helpful. Good luck with your decision! ruclips.net/video/IXejAfiu9RI/видео.html

    So is there a number for the resistance on the bowflex’s screen? Can I change it to 50 (though manually) and it feels similar to peloton? Or will I even know what resistance level I’m at? Great vid and sorry for late comment! Thanks in advance!

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  2 года назад +1

      Thanks! I am not in front of my bike but pretty positive it does. I think I have video in my video that shows the metrics you see. The numbers might not match up between Velocore and Peloton perfectly but they both have very good resistance and you would be able to match up the resistance\feel pretty well.

    Thanks for the videos! These are my top two bikes to get. My only question is, if i can use the peloton app on my ipad and subscribe to peloton digital, is there any reason to get the peloton if i can get the same sessions on the bowflex? The sessions are the only reason i haven't pulled the trigger yet, and they have a great deal now, 1799, plus 1 yr jrny. The lean feature is the main feature i want.

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  2 года назад

      My pleasure! You can still get all the Peloton content in you iPad and the Velocore will feed cadence information to the Peloton app. You don’t get bells and whistles like leaderboard and auto resistance change but you can do Peloton rides from the Velocore. Hope that helps!

    Great video and thanks for this comparison! I'm just curious, I've heard a lot of negative on what the JRNY app has to offer. Do they update with instructor rides often or provide new content to Velocore owners? From what I have seen most say the JRNY does not offer much for the price. I prefer what the velocorw offers over peloton but JRNY is the only reason I haven't pulled the trigger. Thanks!

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  3 года назад

      Thanks Daniel! That is something I am going to try to keep my eye on. Peloton does a better job showing when videos are from and pushing new content, so you know when stuff is new or old. The Velocore does not really do this. Content does not have a date and it seems to be mixed together so new content does not stand out as much as the Peloton. I do think they are pushing new content but I don't think it is at nearly the rate as Peloton.

    Hey Trav, love your content 👍
    Just wondering, in your opinion… which is the overall best exercise bike for the everyday user?
    Peloton, Nordic, Echelon, Perform, etc…
    Disregard price, which do you think is best on the market??
    Thanks
    Andrew.

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  2 года назад

      Thanks Andrew! A lot of these bikes are not too far off from each other, so generally I recommend the one that has the features that work best for you. Do you like studio rides? Do you like instructor led scenic rides? Do you like more variety and control to be able to switch it up between platforms as well as use streaming services? Most of these bikes could be the right bike, but if I were to pick one that I think is best right now and the most likely pair for most people.... I would say Peloton Bike+. Hope that helps!

    The Velocore has the spot for a phone or tablet so you could use the Peloton app while on it. Do you know if the Peloton app pretty much provides everything the Peloton bike does in terms of content and being able to work out with or against others?

      Content, yes. Other features… no. No leaderboard, in ride features, or automatic resistance changes.

    Do you think the lean mode is a better overall workout than the incline/decline that’s available in the Nordictrack s22i? The Peloton + doesn’t incline, correct?

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  2 года назад +1

      Correct on Peloton. I think lean more adds more quality to the exercise because you engage more muscles. As far as enjoyment/excitement neither really add a ton for me but I would give the vote to S22i as it does make those trail rides seem a little more realistic.

    I like using the actual velocore22 bike but there are problems they need to fix if you want to use zwift. The locked monitor is annoying. Also the jrny app is horrible.
    1. add the zwift app so i can display zwift on the bowflex screen instead of on my laptop. unluck the screen so we can add apps like zwift and youtube.
    2. why does the manual workout stop at 1:39... i regularly bike for 4+ hours.
    3. you cant do the jrny off bike videos... the monitor pauses when you stop pedaling. this is a poor design. please fix.
    4. add watts to screen... why so i have to connect to another app to see my watts.
