Ordered this today. I was sold on the lean because I took RealRyder classes for years and yes, the lean really engages so many more areas of your body. Gonna be a long 12 weeks..
I loved my read ryder bike as well. I was curious are we able to lift from the saddle position when we are in “lean” mode? I used to lean all the time while raised off the seat but I am noticing most videos show people leaning while in the saddle.
I’m considering this and the Peloton Bike+. I like this because long ago at Bally’s, there was a game-like bike that moved side to side. I have yet to see that in another gym, but loved it.
Best of luck with your decision. They are both great bikes so I think you will be happy either way, but the Velocore side to side lean is a neat feature!
Good video about the Velocore. Can you do a comparison between the different subscription apps (JRNY, Peloton, and iFit)? I think a video comparison of these would be beneficial for those of us struggling to decide which bike to invest in.
Alright I did it thanks to your review! Bought the 16” screen Velocore from Scheels! Absolutely love it so far!! I will say, in my opinion, the lean doesn’t add much and doesn’t seem to engage my core much. So if you are caught up on that don’t let that be the only reason you go for this bike. But screen is plenty big, and all the other apps and features on it are great. And I saved $1k by going with this and canceling my peloton bike+. And no more waiting! Score!
Very nice! So glad you are enjoying and great feedback! I actually noticed when I would hold strong leans it was a good workout for my arms and I liked that. And I would not call it an extreme core exercise, but more of the fact that it makes you engage your core and maintain better posture and engage muscles in a better position. Probably could have been more clear with my thoughts there! So glad you have it and love it!
When I was looking for a bike I searched ‘Peloton alternatives’ in google. I was trying to choose between MYX, echelon, and nordictrack based on these reviews. Mostly I was looking at MYX as a good lower cost option. I spent more than I wanted on the velocore for leaning mode and versatility of content. I’m sure I’ll love it but wish I discovered your video first!
Of the bikes you mentioned, it would be between the MYX and Velocore for me. From there it would come down to how much I wanted to spend versus the features that worked for me. The Velocore is one of my favorites out of all of them. I think you will like it! Just try not to focus on the cost. You have made your decision so commit and make it happen! It is a really neat bike with so many ways to use it!
Looking to purchase an Indoor Bike Trainer, and I'm having a tough time figuring out which one to get. I'd be sharing this bike with my husband, but I'd be the primary rider. Some of the things I'd like: wireless connection, spd pedal with cage or plain side, scenic rides, large scene, value membership, good customer service, and instructor lead classes with multiple intensity levels. My original thought was the Peloton Bike+. I look forward to your response. Thank you!
Yeah, Peloton Bike+ is probably the easiest answer. They have look delta pedal, not SPD but still a clip-in. Now that they are starting to offer instructor led scenic rides, they probably check the most boxes off for you. Stryde is another option. You lose a few Peloton bells and whistles (Leaderboard, automatic resistance change) but get lower fees and more flexibility. Probably one of those two. Good luck!
I decided to get this bike and just wanted to add some comments about weird things I have found. I have had the Velocore for about 3 weeks: -For Canadian owners, you cannot get any music other than Pop or EDM on the Velocore app (JRNY) radio. There is some sort of licensing issue. Since there is no music in the training videos themselves, this is rather limiting unless you want to listen to music from another device. -If you are doing a boot camp type of workout where you get off the bike to do strength training, you will get bumped out of your workout if you are not pedalling for > 5 min. Not a biggie you just need to turn the pedal a couple of times while you are off the bike. Both of these issues are being worked on by their support team.
Thank you for this thorough review. My new bike has FINALLY been shipped and I’m ecstatic to get to riding. I’m not an avid rider but I am truly looking forward to putting this machine to good use.
What bike comparisons would you like to see? Bikes available: Peloton, Peloton Bike+, Velocore, Nordictrack S22i, Echelon EX5s, MYX Fitness, Stryde, and Soulcycle.
Thanks for you content very good review Travis. I would like to see comparison with the peloton and doing the classes on the Velocore. How easy is it to ride off the saddle in position 3 on the Velocore. Definitely don't know if you have this in your lineup but I would love if you can review the SOUL CYCLE at Home Bike in hardware and also how it compares to content against the Peloton. Soul cycle is using Stages SC1 as their manufacture for the Bike would be a good review. Thanks Again !
Thanks for the reply. Their is also the new Bowflex C7 which a C6 with a screen would mine also seeing. waiting for all the comparisons before I make my decision which bike to purchase. You channel has been very instrumental, helpful and intuitive. Question is the Bowflex C6 the same as the IC4 do you know wifi connects to the journey app from Bowflex ? Thanks again looking forward to the next reviews.
Great to hear and thank you so much! The C6 is the same as the IC4. 😀 WIFI does work on the Velocore if that is what you meant. Also, I will look into the C7. Don't have that one yet but will see if I can get my hands on that down the road!
@@Learnwithtravis The one I would like to see is this (Velocore) versus using a balance board accessory that can work with the peloton bike, for the balancing/leaning aspect. I forgot who made the board. I know the Clip out podcast talked about it before. I'll get back to you once I get the company name.
Hi Travis, thank you so much this video .I've was hoping that you were going to one day do a review on the Bowflex VeloCore . I got mine last month (1 month ahead of the due date) and so far, am very pleased with it. I decided to buy the Bowflex VeloCore because of the wonderful variety of things I can do while riding. Because I'm not into doing spin classes and I prefer to exercise on my own, I'm happy to be able to just ride and have nice scenery to watch as I exercise. Plus, I love being about to watch movies and shows while I exercise as well. I did have a few problems but nothing that can't be fixed. BTW, I've found Bowflex's Customer Service to be very good. Everyone that I've spoken to have been quite nice and helpful. My major problems have to do with my height. I'm quite petite. 4'9" to be exact. My last bike was a mini derailleur. I loved riding that bike when I was young. It fit me just perfectly. Unfortunately it was stolen many years ago and I never replaced it. Anyways, my husband put the bike together for me and did his best to make the bike seat as low as possible and the handlebars as close to me as it could go. And it helps that I can adjust the screen as well. And like lot of people, I found the seat a bit uncomfortable but I found a great seat cover from Amazon that is nice and cushioned so that problem was quickly solved. My real challenge came with the pedals. My feet didn't rest on the pedals as comfortably as I wanted so my husband cut some blocks of wood and attached them to the petals. It's not perfect but I can ride with ease now. Maybe you could do a video on what things to do for those of us who are short and for parents who want to share their bikes with their children. Thank you again for your review on this bike. I'm looking forward to part 2.
Lots of a great ideas and happy to hear that you are enjoying the Velocore and figured out a very unique way to make it work for you! Sorry to hear your old bike was stolen. That is too bad. Hopefully the new bike is making up for it! Thank you so much and have a great one!
I’m new to the channel and am looking to purchase a bike for my husband and I. I find the Bowflex Velocore bike very interesting as well as the Peloton. Would love to see a comparison!
Just ordered the Bowflex VeloCore. #1 thing for me (yes, I know it's silly) is I have to have SPD pedals. There's nothing..nothing better than the float of the SPD and any other kind of pedal kills my knees. #2, I'm not a road biker, never will be so the idea of 'spinning' just sickens me to my core. I'm a Mountain biker. This is as close as you can get to getting a mountain biking feel with a little more mobility with the lean. Since I'm not really a 'spinner,' the superior Peloton spinning content doesn't really appeal to me, but the virtual scenery modes of the BowFlex does. Thanks for the Video!
My pleasure! I completely understand what you are saying and it all makes sense! Hope it works out well for you and helps up your game when on the real trails!
Thank you for this, Travis - it is the most helpful thing I've found so far to assist with decision making and what to expect. I am on the fence between Peloton and this puppy (16"). Classes are important to me but live/leaderboard isn't; and I'm leaning toward (couldn't resist) the Velocore, really solely because of lean mode. *Very* interested to see a comparison : ) Thank you!
Wonderful! I am looking forward to getting to more comparison videos! So glad to hear the video was helpful! For all the bikes I have reviewed, they Peloton usually is in a league of its own and then the other bikes fall somewhere below. The Velocore is the first that I feel is very much a comparable to Peloton. Both awesome bikes!
Would love to see a comparison of the Velocore and the NordicTrack S22i! Also, when is Part 2 coming out on the Velocore? I love your videos. You do a great job!
Thank you so much Michael! I did do a part 2 that covers the Zwift and Peloton app side of things. I am still waiting for the new monitor which I believe will be here soon. Once that comes in, I will prep for another video assuming it does fix the problems.
I just ordered my Bowflex 22" bike . Thank you for the review I am really excited now! Love the Lean mode and can't wait to try it. Your review is awesome it covers everything. I did not choose Peloton because they did not have the Movie channels :) that is a plus for me. Kind of concerned about the glitches you mentioned!
I love your in-depth reviews! I’ve been going back and forth between the Peloton, NordicTrac S22i, and the Bowflex Velocore for quite some time. I do love the option of having trail rides on the S22i, but the longevity of the incline motor has me slightly concerned in the long run. The feature that drew me to the Velocore was the lean mode, and I think that really did trump all the other features for me. Plus, maybe Bowflex will add more scenic content to JRNY to rival some of trail rides found on iFit. Thanks for all the details so I can make an informed decision, looking forward to your part 2! But I think I’m going to go for the Velocore for a more natural ride and core strengthening!
Thank you so much Jonathan! Reading into your comment a bit... I think you made the right choice! I am in the exact same situation. I love the scenic rides of the S22i\iFit platform but if I had to pick, I would still go with the Velocore. Too many other positives and things I like plus I am hopeful that it continues to improve.
@@Learnwithtravis This is going to be my first bike I’ve ever purchased. I’ve taken spin classes in the past (very casually...I’m no athlete 🤣). Do you think such a high level bike is even needed for me considering I’m an entry level cyclist? I’ve previewed a few of the Peloton classes, and I really liked the vibe and would like to be able to utilize that platform in whichever bike I purchase. The only reason I was looking at the proform bikes was because of the auto resistance adjustment, but is that something I should even be looking at as a newbie? I think inevitably I will purchase a Peloton down the line, but for now I would like to get something that’s quality yet doesn’t break the bank. I want to make sure I’m in love with the sport before committing fully. Do you have any recommendations or can you recommend any of your videos particularly that would address such things? I appreciate your feedback and all your videos. Thank you! ☺️
@@staceytrudell973 Makes perfect since and I think it is smart to start on a less expensive bike to verify this is something you enjoy and will stick to. I have a lot of videos on stuff like this and there are multiple bikes at different tiers. If we want to still get Peloton content, you can pair various bikes with their Peloton Digital app (Which is a lot cheaper membership too). Starting points could be a Sunny Health and Fitness bike and purchasing your own cadence sensor. A lot of people do this and really enjoy it. Next would the Schwinn IC4. A small step up but has the the cadence sensor built in and a resistance display for pairing to Peloton. After that, the Stryde bike has an attached monitor and a more Peloton feel. Here are some videos to help you out: Peloton Digital: ruclips.net/video/h341iQ62iho/видео.html IC4: ruclips.net/video/fFBW_YaDo10/видео.html Stryde: ruclips.net/video/DIN_WWCmFCI/видео.html
Just purchased one of these myself after watching your review! Look forward to seeing more of your videos on it. Luckily mine didn't have those speaker issues.
The ability to stream 3rd party contents is a huge plus. The Bowflex C7 Bike (which I think is a Dicks Sporting Goods exclusive model) has a 7" screen where you can stream other content to as well. I wish Peloton, Echelon or NordicTrack would add this feature.
Thanks for the review! My Velocore (ordered in October) should ship this week. Your description of lean mode is exactly what I hoped it would be (and what I could get out of it). Good to hear.
Velocore vs Nordictrack (I got the Samsclub S10i - same as S22i essentially with smaller screen). But I like the battle between Nordic track riser vs Velocore lean mode. Plus Nordictrack added music mode and bluetooth so it's time to reevaluate.
Awesome review. I really like the fact that it's possible to stream Netflix right from the bike screen. I'd be curious to know if the Bowflex subscription is needed in order to stream other content (such as Netflix or Amazon Prime), or if those can be accessed without the subscription. I think I am still pretty set on getting a Peloton but I gotta say... these added features sure are tempting!!
Thanks Jackie! I am currently in the free trial period, but I do believe you need to have a subscription to the Journey app on Bowflex to make this work. I will most definitely test this when my trial runs out.
@@Learnwithtravis also found out that 3rd party apps can’t be displayed on the screen, but with all of the JRNY rides and programs, I’m not that upset. Can’t wait for them to apply the power/watt feature. Happy riding, the bike is pretty awesome.
How about the fact that everyone's body is not perfectly symmetrical, so the lean feature allows the bike to float under the hips taking strain off off hinge joints like knees? Change out the pedals with Speedplays, and you'd have a great biomechanical setup.
@@Learnwithtravis I’ve heard that without a subscription some of the bikes won’t work, or at least are very limited on what they will do. Is that true for the VelCore, Proform Studio and Echelon? I wish I could come up with a hybrid of those three! Pretty sure I would have the perfect bike 😁
@@lilaangel9151 I am in the trial period for Journey which is the subscription server of Velocore, but I am pretty sure once that runs out, the bike will be rather basic. And that is the case for basically all of these bikes... without the subscription, they become very basic bikes. I wish we could hand pick features from the various and make our own! Most bikes have something unique and pretty special to offer!
Is it me, or did you change your lighting or Camera? It looks better than past videos. Love seeing the video quality upgrades! Keep up the awesome work and Merry Christmas.
You win! I was wondering if anyone would notice. I made a major upgrade to camera, lens, and lighting. I have a lot of learning to do to perfect the new setup but should be able to really improve video quality! Thanks Edward!
Torn between the Velocore and the Stryde. Can you load the Peloton on the velocore, or are the aps on there presets. If you had your choice which one would you go with. These videos are very helpful thanks
I need to play with that more but when I loaded the Peloton ride on Velocore, it says to use a different device to load Peloton. So, you still need another device which is a bummer. Hopefully they make it so the Peloton Digital app is part of their system. So, I actually like both of these bikes quite a bit. They have very different use cases. The Velocore has a UI with a lot of versatility and is a great overall bike. The Stryde is much more budget friendly but has the ability to load many systems if you want to mix it up with different content providers. So, it depends on how you want to use it. I like the Velocore better overall but it is also in a completely different price tier. If you want to mix it up and go between Peloton, iFit, and other options... I would suggest Stryde. If you want everything in one user interface and a little bit better bike with lean, Velocore.
Thank you for taking the time to put this video together. I do have one question. Is there a way that we can broadcast what is on the screen to a smart tv?
Thank you Frank! I will play around with and keep an eye on updates but I am pretty sure it does not. I look around and could not find anything... Hopefully updates down the road will make that available.
Will do my best but to help you out.... I liked the Velocore a lot better. So much more to offer\ways to use it, lean mode, better quality bike, and company seems to be more behind their product.
I really enjoy watching your videos, although now I’m more conflicted as to which bike to go with. I really had my heart set on the Nordictrack S22i, but after watching your review and doing more research about their customer service, I’m hesitant. I almost wish I could just buy the Peloton bike and use iFit on it for the scenic rides. Is that even possible? I just want a bike with the smoothest ride, less problems (or at least having those problems resolved quickly), and the capability of doing scenic rides and studio classes.
So, most bikes have scenic rides but they are simply footage of very neat locations. iFit has instructor led scenic rides which is much nicer so the first thing I would ask yourself is which version of scenic rides do you want? If iFit, the S22i is an option that a lot of people have really enjoyed but obviously comes with some risk. There is the new Proform but I have not tested that. If you want the best bike (IMO) and scenic rides that are not instructor led, the Peloton would be a great option. In the middle, the Stryde is a neat option. It is a quality bike that I have enjoyed and has an attached monitor. The neat part is they allow you to load your own apps. So you can swap between iFit, Peloton, RUclips, and other streaming services. Might be worth taking a look as it offers a lot of flexibility. Hope that helps!
@@Learnwithtravis thank you!! I watched your reviews for the Stryde bike and I agree with you as far as value is concerned. I’m going to check reviews for the Proform Studio Bike Pro 22 next. It might be a nice option and less problems without the incline/decline feature that’s on the S22i. I love the idea of having instructor led scenic rides so iFit is looking more like a must for me. I understand that you can’t say or write it on your channel, but if all else fails, I will get the Peloton bike and find a way to put iFit on it lol. Thank you again!
I’m looking for a bike like this one that leans but also has interactive videos like the scenic rides. Almost video game like to where the rider input changes the view on the screen. Like if you pedal faster, you go faster and however far you lean is how far you lean on the “game”. Would be really nice if the pedal resistance changed with riding conditions on the screen. Basically your playing a riding game with the bike as the controller and your working out at the same time...is there anything like this out there?
This is the only one I have come across and have not looked into it much. I need to research this one again... gaming bikes are extremely interesting to me. expresso.com/
Can you update us on how the repairs went/go even if you haven't had time to do the video? I'm ready to order but wanted to know that the audio issues did get resolved to your satisfaction.
It is not completed yet but so far I have a good feeling compared to previous experiences. It only took one call to troubleshoot and handle all stages. Two parts have already been delivered to my house and I am not waiting for technician to come out. Hopefully will know soon!
Well, I was thinking the S22i because it is the other option that moves. Also the Peloton Bike+ because they are two of the newest and tp of the line options. But Stryde could be a great compare as well!
I got my bike about two weeks ago. I’ve enjoyed everything about the bike except the seat itself which is very narrow and uncomfortable on the “twig and berries.” I couldn’t ride for more than a few minutes the first times I rode. I eventually ordered a seat that was a little wider and offered more cushion. I also started using bike shorts with padding. Could you comment on your experience with the seat comfort?
I agree. The seat was a bit too hard and narrow for me so I ordered a seat cover from Amazon. It has a lot of cushion and is not so narrow. That helped make the seat a lot more comfortable for me.
For me, it felt pretty comparable to the bikes I have reviewed. Of course, I am constantly switching between bikes so I am pretty accustomed to these seats.
Great reviews! I think it would be interesting to compare your NT s22i incline mode vs Bowflex lean mode and comment on how these features are integrated and explored by the instructors in outdoors and indoors classes. Also, do you have any thoughts about how the Proform s22 compares to the NT s22i? Both bikes seem to be made by companies owned by ICON and Proform bike costs $500 less (without the incline/decline feature). Thanks!
I was thinking the same. Considering they are the two bikes that move it some way, I compare could be helpful to a lot of people! As far as the Proform goes, I have not looked into it much but will probably try to get it. It looks like a solid option if you really want iFit content but don't require incline\decline.
@@Learnwithtravis I really like the Bowflex velocore bike. What would you tell someone that that the wife like the performance of the peloton and the husband like the performance of the bowflex velocore.
Hello Travis..Very good at explaining .. So I was thinking more on Nordic track S22i with incline vs Bowflex Velocore.. But being 70 yrs old I do not see myslf with instructors pushing me . Also being 6' tall with very long legs and arms wonder with not being able to test a Bowflex ,other than ordering one . and if you purchase you will not send it back I know. LOL So your thoughs on Tilt riding vs incline ??? ergonomics of these two machines ???..I have used a Matrix A50 for few years but my knees are hurting and when riding my Giant Carbon fiber bike they seem right now ok so reason I am thinking one of these units..I did have in mind the Echelon x5s until you talked about blue tooth issue, ..Joe
Hey Joe! The main difference I noticed is that the S22i was better at making rides feel more realistic. Going up and down hills, more enjoyable scenic rides, more realistic following instructors... but I didn't feel like it did much to the quality of the exercise. Velocore was the opposite. It did not add that much to the experience, but it enhanced the quality of exercise. When leaning you engage your arms, core, back, and more which I think a lot of people could really benefit from. So it is sort of a enjoyment versus quality of exercise comparison for me. Hope that helps and whatever you decide to with works out well for you!
@@Learnwithtravis So some are saying Bowflex electronics suck with taking to much time at startup each ride ??? Do you find that true??? Do you feel the size of Bowflex with knee clearence any more or less than Nordic track s22???? Wish I could try a Bowflex Velocore without ordering here in NJ....But I wonder over time if the incline noise will be annoying with my tinnitus ringing in ears....But I guess hearing what you are saying about S22i and being 70 with bad knees that maybe I would be better off with it with more realistic rides than with VeloCore....But the bottom line the max I will be on this would be one hours maybe every other day during winter months...Maybe I will ask others if anyone in NJ 08075 has VeloCore could I visit and try it ???? Thanks Joe
@@josephmcdermott5675 No, I did not run into that at all and it worked really well. I thought knee clearance was better on the Velocore than the S22i. I actually wonder if your knees would tolerate the Velocore better. The incline changes your ride posture a bit and has you stand at heavy inclines... not sure if your knees would like that or not. Just a thought. Good luck Joe! I know not being able to test these before riding and spending that kind of money is scary.
I don't the height range of each model of the top of my head, but I think a lot of them will work for you. My top 3 bikes right now are Velcore, Stryde, and Peloton. I also really like the MYX. See if you can find the height supported on those. Usually Google pops the answer right up.
Great review. I really enjoyed your videos and it convinced me to return my Bowflex C7 and purchased the Velocore 16. Love my Velocore but I noticed it's not silent like the C7. Is this normal? I hear a slight noise when pedaling on the Velocore. It's quiet but not silent like the C7.
I will try to get on mine and really listen but I don't think so. It should be pretty silent. My experience with Bowflex support was great. They were super easy to work through and made sure they took care of the problem. I would reach out, just to be safe and address early. Might be nothing, but better safe than sorry. Oh, and thank you Paul!
Thanks so much for this review! I'm a spin instructor and really need to get a bike for home. I currently teach on Schwinn IC3 and the Real Ryder bike which lean and swivel like the Bowflex. Question 1: Can you ride in lean mode out of saddle (standing and move left to right??) or will it damage the bike. Question 2: How many pounds does the flywheel weigh?
My pleasure and thank you so much Tiffany! 1 - I have not seen anything that indicates one way or the other but I feel it is a probably an in-saddle only option. Next time I get it out I will play with that, but that is my guess. 2 - 33 lb www.bowflex.com/bikes/faq#:~:text=The%20VeloCore%20bike%20uses%20magnetic,flywheel.
Yup. They replaced the entire bike (Minus Tablet) and that did not fix it. When I told them that, they shipped me a new tablet and it fixed things. They were very easy to work with and basically sent me an entire new bike to make sure the problem was resolved.
I would check the bell settings. You can subscribe but if you do not setup the bell for notifications you don't get anything. 1. Velocore 2. I need to test that. When you select that option, it says to load the Peloton App on another device. What I want to figure out is if still sends cadence information and what the experience is. I will try to include that in part 2 or create a quick dedicate video detailing using "other programs" with velocore.
How is the Explore the World through the JRNY subscription? Are you familiar with the Ride Social app? Is it like that? I am wondering how the Explore the World compares to ifit or peloton destination rides. Thank you!
It is comparable to other bikes not iFit. I don't believe they have any instructor led scenic rides at this point but they did have many locations with great to look at locations. Sorry, I am not familiar with the Ride Social app. Will have to check that one out!
Hey Travis! First - love you videos! They are all great! Question - I have seen in another video that the peloton digital app is actually on the Velocore screen. Does it stream directly to the screen? Abs does it integrate with Peloton like the Peloton bike? Or similar to the C6? Thanks!!!!
Thanks Jennifer! More like the C6. When you launch that, it says to launch Peloton Digital on your own device so it is not built into the Velocore. I plan to test this and go over it more in the part 2 video! 😀
@@Learnwithtravis Thanks Travis. I am highly considering the Velocore. I ordered the Peloton a while ago and delivery is crazy delayed. and I like the idea of not being tied to the Peloton app. Last question - how well does the Velocore integrate with the Apple watch/appl devices? At all? Some? Thinking of also using Apple Fitness
Awesome review Travis and Merry Christmas to you, your family and your followers. I have a question about the ability to watch/use the apps on this bike. Do you need to have an active subscription in order to play Netflix, Disney etc. ? Would the overlay of workout on Netflix still work if you do not have a sub? Basically I want to be able to do what I want without having the credit card attached. Lots of bikes require the sub to even use your tablet, I hope this does not. Thank you!!
Thank you Marc and to you as well! I will play around with that a little more and try to provide more details in video part 2. But, unfortunately, you need a subscription to both. Bowflex uses the journey system which you need to subscribe to. You then need to have memberships to any of those content services to use them as well. Sorry!
@@Learnwithtravis Thank you! Bummer about the subscription, I hate how they hold you hostage to using the bike that you paid for. So far, only Stryde bike lets you do anything you want unlocked. I will check out your part 2 for sure!
It sort of depends on what features really pull you in. Overall though, I would say Peloton is above most options. I do think the Velocore is a very close competitor and would be a better option for a lot of people. But... based on what you said (competitive, leaderboard, and lots of classes) I would say the Peloton sounds like a better fit for you. Hope you love what ever you go with April!
😀 Not yet but I do plan to make that video as soon as I can. Considering the bikes are somewhat alike with incline\decline vs tilt, it is a hard decision to make. Will try to get to that soon!!!
Thanks for the great review Travis. It looks like you've reviewed almost all of the interactive exercise bikes on the market and I had a quick question. I was at a Dick's Sporting Goods and they had several of the bikes on display (Echelon, ProForm, Bowflex and Nordick Track) and I'm 6'3" with long legs. I found the only bike that I could raise the seat high enough (for proper riding position) was the Nordick Track. It's a big deal for me. I'm not sure how tall you are, but I cannot find any articles on seat height and I was wondering if you could share your experience with this? Thanks in advance.
Thanks Keith! I am 6'3" as well and I find that I am able to make all bikes work but I am near or at the highest spot the seat will go. I am guessing you have a little longer legs than I do. If you have a specific bike you want me to jump on and give feedback on, let me know. I just jumped on the Velocore and it worked for me at max setting.
@@Learnwithtravis Thanks Travis. I'm wondering if my legs are longer than yours, because the other bikes definitely didn't go far enough. Are there certain bikes that you're not on the max setting? OBTW - great reviews, you're answering all the questions I have. Tough decision!
@@Learnwithtravis Thanks Travis. I'm just circling back to your reply after watching the great review on the Stryde bike. I assume you have no issues with the seat height? Are you at max level? I'm really leaning towards this bike after your great review but just want to make sure it's tall enough. Thanks in advance.
@@docstuess I am away from home at the moment but I think I was real close. I felt like I fit on that bike really well and it handled me well. So far, comments from people that have got it have been very positive so it seems to be a good one. :)
I really like the lean feature on this bike, but I’m concerned that JRNY May have an unimpressive content lineup. They do not have a trial period to explore the offerings like Peloton, IFIT, etc. do. Do you feel like it has a decent lineup of class options and that they’re quality? Customer service tells me they have 75 studio classes and 24 scenic rides, but that doesn’t quite tell me anything about quality (quality vs. Peloton or IFIT if you’re looking for a comparison). Thank you!!
So, Peloton is the gold standard when it comes to quality and content. JRNY does not have nearly as much content but I expect that to grow over time. As far as quality goes, it is not at a Peloton level, but I thought it was very good. If Peloton is a 5 out of 5, most other bikes would have content come in at around a 3 out of 5. I would say Journey is in that 3.5 to 4 range which is pretty good. Of course, this depends on what type of content you like and if you relate to it.
Thanks for this great review! I have been planning to buy one as soon as they come out-which is now-but should I wait for a second generation? I wasn’t quite sure from your review. How long do you think the wait might be? It’s an expensive bike, and I want to be happy for a long time.
No problem Sharon! This is just a guess as I have no inside information, but considering this product just came out... I imagine it will be a long time before next gen version is released. I have been very happy with the bike so far. Waiting to see how the repairs go and working with support is to formulate a complete opinion but so far those areas look promising as well. It will be interesting to see where they go with this bike but so far, I think it is a very good bike with a lot of potential. If I didn't run a RUclips channel and had to pick just one bike, this one would be up as a serious contender.
Hello Travis, does the seat slide down? I saw a couple of people reviewed peloton plus and velocore and mentioned their seat sinks down and they have to lift it every now and then.
Since ic4 is similar to bowflew c6, can u compare this to ic4 on the resistance. Since already have max trainer i think keeping a bowflew cycling bike would work better since i would only have to pay for one subscription.
Thanks for doing this. I watched most of you reviews and now you have me between the bike+ and the velocore. Is the leaning function worth it? Would love to see a side by side.
No problem! I will be doing a video that goes more in depth on this as these are my favorite two bikes from the top tier. I would not say the leaning functionality is worth it on its own. I do like it, it adds something to the ride, and it does help you to engage\exercise ecognize your core\arms and get more out of the ride. If you were sold the Peloton Bike+ was the bike for you, I would not switch just because of the lean. Now... when you consider lean mode, AI trainer, streaming services, app pairing, and some of the other functionality, it might be worth it. Both bikes are very high quality... it really comes down to which features you prefer more as they are quite different as far as what they offer. Hope that helps... but hopefully the video will clear this up even more!
@@Learnwithtravis thanks for the reply. We were also wondering about the nordic track. Is the seat not worth it. No clip in pedals, and too gimmicky? Or is it right up there with the velocore? We crossed Peloton off the list. Dont want to wait 10 weeks. I can go outside and ride in 10 weeks.
@@danielcharles4085 The S22i feature that stands out is instructor led scenic rides. If that is a significant feature for you, it may be worth considering. Personally, I would pick the Velocore between the two. NordicTrack has poor support, quality issues, and a poor user interface. Velocore has more variety and ways to work out, a better built bike IMO, much better support, and more content options. Outside of the scenic rides, I like most things about the Velocore more.
Do you want to upgrade because you want the full Peloton experience or because you want Peloton on a screen attached to the bike with the ability to do other things?
Hey there I’m going to purchase a Velocore bike. I can buy a16” used however I really want the 22” screen. In your opinion is there much difference? Thank you
Hello. I have not used the 16 inch version but I believe it is basically the same bike, just smaller screen. That being said, I like the larger monitors because they are more immersive with that larger screen in front of you, but the 16 will still more than get the job done. Honestly, I think it depends on how much money you are saving.
@@JL-kr4jd My pleasure. That is tough. That is a lot of money saved for what would be close to the same experience. My gut wants to say, go with the 16. But exercise equipment is tricky. I don't want you to get this model and instantly question how much more you would enjoy the bigger screen and then not take advantage of what you did get. Short version, if you think you can be happy with the 16 inch model and not question your purchase, save that money. If you think that might be always in the back of your head, get the bigger screen if that is what will get you to take advantage of your purchase. Hope that makes sense!
So, I think I am going to try to work on that video this week. But to save you, if after watching the first video you feel like this is the bike for you... I would say go for it. I only have good things to say and really like that bike. But if you want more info, I am going to do my best to get that video out Friday. If you get it, hope you love it Brian!
Grayson! What are you doing to me! LOL That is a tough one and something I have been thinking about a lot lately and I have a very hard time coming up with that answer. I usually end up stuck between the Velocore and Peloton Bike+. For me, with how I ride, and what I enjoy... I think it would probably be the Velocore.
Thank you for this video! Trying to decide if I want to cancel my Peleton+ and pick this one up at Scheels this week. How’s the background music on this compared to peloton+? Also, have you tried riding with peloton app on a tablet/ phone yet? I’d like to know your thoughts on how well they integrate. And lastly, have you heard any rumors about Bowflex possibly taking this bike in a live class/ leaderboard direction in the future? Thanks!
No problem and thank you Megan! I didn't spend a ton of time playing with the music because of the speaker issues, but they have "stations" that you pick from. The music seemed to be mainstream which is great as opposed as random background music that some use. Peloton probably still lead this category but it is nice that you an pick the station you feel like. As far the other questions, I will try to cover those in the next video as I need to spend more time testing them.
Hi, question? To run the Zwift I need the power meter right? So does bowflex either velocore or C6 come with these pedals? Or how I can use zwift with that bike?
I will be honest and say I am not a Zwift expert. The Velocore does not have the power meter so you are right that you do not get that. But Zwift allows multiple inputs. The Velocore sends something (Can't remember off the top of my head), it was either power output or cadence but it does hook up to Zwift and real data to base your ride off of. Now, I am guessing super serious Zwift riders would say the power meter is more accurate so it may come down to what type of rider you are. I can say that with this bike, I was able to do Zwift and enjoy it.
@@Learnwithtravis awesome. Thank you for the answer. Was very helpful. I am still looking which one I should get. I am not an expert cyclistby any means. I am just someone who really like to bike, and like to have the technology around to help hahahahaha.
Sorry for the delay. It was put away while I tested other bikes and had to power it up. You can create multiple profiles and switch between them easily. Hope that helps!
As a cyclist i've was really interested to see the lean feature as is seems the best case scenario for the lean would be for when you stand out of the saddle and you can swing the handlebars side to side like on an actual bike. When your standing and pedaling it is more efficient to swing the bike from side to side rather than swing your body. Did you notice this to be the case at all?
Sorry for the delay. Honestly, I usually stay in saddle when leaning. I am taller and top heavy so I notice when I am out of the saddle it does not feel as controlled. I did a quick test and when leaning my whole body to a side, it starts to feel a little unstable. Not terrible, but with my size I am really leaning a lot of weight out there. I did find that if I was out of saddle but moved the bike side to side and did slight leans, it was not bad. Less locked in and requires to you to stabilize your body more and mimic a road bike experience more. Hope that helps!
I have a Schwinn ic4 does this bowflex online workouts come with a mobile app like peloton or apple fitness? What is the subscription fees? Can you compare peloton, apple fitness and the bowflex?
All good ideas and I can look into that for future videos! I am honestly not sure if Bowflex has a companion app. I have not seen it or noticed any commercials\emails about it which companies usually push.
Hope you are having a great day! Don't forget to subscribe!
Velocore (Thank you for your support!): nautilus.atkw.net/XzkLG
Omg, finally YES! I've been looking everywhere for a thorough review of this bike - THANK YOU!!! Please keep up the stellar work!
Haha! Love it! Glad to make the video and will do! Have a great holiday!
Hope you love the bike! 😀
Looking to replace my Peloton bike with this bike. Love the freedom it gives you.
Awesome! Hope you love it!
Ordered this today. I was sold on the lean because I took RealRyder classes for years and yes, the lean really engages so many more areas of your body. Gonna be a long 12 weeks..
The dreaded waiting game! Hope it comes in sooner than expected and you love it!
Good idea! I will add it to my list! Thank you Jakia!
Good luck!
I’d love to see a comparison of the Bowflex VeloCore and the Peloton Bike+. Thanks!!
Sounds great! That is one I am working towards!
I would also love to see it, can't wait for it to come out.
Me too!!
Thanks for the review Travis, I would love to see this compared to the Stryde.
No problem at all and will add that to the idea list! Thanks Kathy!
I decided to get this bike and just wanted to add some comments about weird things I have found. I have had the Velocore for about 3 weeks:
-For Canadian owners, you cannot get any music other than Pop or EDM on the Velocore app (JRNY) radio.
Great feedback and thank you for sharing! I was not aware of this!
Thank you for this thorough review. My new bike has FINALLY been shipped and I’m ecstatic to get to riding. I’m not an avid rider but I am truly looking forward to putting this machine to good use.
My pleasure and glad to hear it is on the way! One of my favorites so I hope you love it!
Thank you so much Herby! Great feedback! I do have the SoulCycle so will be looking to review that and start doing comparisons with it!
Sounds great! It is on the list! Thanks Nicola!
Congrats! I am a huge fan of the Velocore. I would not be worried about the glitches. I don’t think it is too common and support has been great.
Like many others have mentioned, ProForm Studio Bike Pro 22, if possible. I love the idea of the automatic resistance change via iFit.
Starting to sound like I need to get that one! 😀
Here are some videos to help you out:

@@Learnwithtravis thank you so, so much! I’m clicking on these videos right now!! ☺️
It’s like a RealRyder and a Peloton had a baby! This is cool!
Haha! It really is. I think it is my favorite of them all...
Just purchased one of these myself after watching your review! Look forward to seeing more of your videos on it. Luckily mine didn't have those speaker issues.
Good to hear! Hope it turns out to be a great bike for you! That mike is easily competing to be one of my favorite bikes.
The ability to stream 3rd party contents is a huge plus. The Bowflex C7 Bike (which I think is a Dicks Sporting Goods exclusive model) has a 7" screen where you can stream other content to as well. I wish Peloton, Echelon or NordicTrack would add this feature.
Completely agree! It does make me wonder if any of them will add it now that they see it is a selling feature for Bowflex!
Interested in Bowflex and Stryde review.
Wonderful! Will try to do that. Thanks Sheila!
Like to see the Bowflex, Echelon and both Peloton models.
Sounds good. Planning to do a bunch of comparisons so stay tuned!
I've been waiting for this review. Thank you for this and Happy Holidays!
Hopefully it was helpful! Thank you and Happy Holidays to you as well!
This is about as near as I'm getting to a workout today, by watching your videos lol!! while I drink wine and eat chocolate!! Thanks Travis!
Haha, same here! Well, I am not watching my videos... but chilling for sure!
Thanks for the review! My Velocore (ordered in October) should ship this week. Your description of lean mode is exactly what I hoped it would be (and what I could get out of it). Good to hear.
Great to hear! Hope it ships on time and you get it soon! Thanks!
I think this video helped make my decision! I've been so undecided... this might just be the one! This will be my first spinbike experience ever... :D
Great to hear! I really like this bike and I am also very excited about where Bowflex could go with it. Great choice!
Please do some kind of evaluation on reliability and longevity of this equipment between the models. Semper Fi.
Great feedback! Thanks Paul!
Wow hadn’t heard of this one! You might have just sold me on this one!
It is a neat one! Hope you love it if you get it!
Velocore vs Nordictrack (I got the Samsclub S10i - same as S22i essentially with smaller screen). But I like the battle between Nordic track riser vs Velocore lean mode. Plus Nordictrack added music mode and bluetooth so it's time to reevaluate.
Sounds good! I do plan on doing that one!
Please do Velocore vs Nordictrack 22i for your comparison video. Thanks!
On my list!
@@Learnwithtravis Awesome!
Just received the velocore, overall a great bike. Just wish it displayed mph and I wish the handlebars were adjustable(fore/aft).
Good points but glad you are happy with it. I think it might be my favorite bike. So much going on with it.
@@Learnwithtravis also found out that 3rd party apps can’t be displayed on the screen, but with all of the JRNY rides and programs, I’m not that upset. Can’t wait for them to apply the power/watt feature. Happy riding, the bike is pretty awesome.
Awesome review Travis. I know what I want for christmas now :)
Thank you! That would be one awesome Christmas gift!
Would love to see a comparison of the Bowflex Velocore to the Peloton
Noted! :)
How about the fact that everyone's body is not perfectly symmetrical, so the lean feature allows the bike to float under the hips taking strain off off hinge joints like knees? Change out the pedals with Speedplays, and you'd have a great biomechanical setup.
Good point!
Thank you for this great video! I am anxious to see the part 2. I would love to see a review on the ProForm Studio bike. : )
Thanks Lila! Just ordered the ProForm so we will see how long it takes to get here! Will make part 2 once I know how the repair goes! 😀
Please discuss handlebar width (side to side width measurement) in future reviews. Thank you!
Hey there I’ve watched most of your stationary bike videos. What bike would you consider the best. Thanks
Can I answer in video form? ruclips.net/video/mE1kc5-os_U/видео.html
Torn between the Velocore and the Stryde. Can you load the Peloton on the velocore, or are the aps on there presets. If you had your choice which one would you go with. These videos are very helpful
thanks
Great video. Would love to see the Soulcycle review
Thanks Ron Ron! It will be happening!
I would love to see the comparison between this and Echelon. I'm on the fence
Will do my best but to help you out.... I liked the Velocore a lot better. So much more to offer\ways to use it, lean mode, better quality bike, and company seems to be more behind their product.
Amazing 💪💪💪💪💪
Thank you!
@@Learnwithtravis You’re welcome! What Bowflex Velocore Bike do
can you do a review between the Stryde and the MyXFitness if you haven't done one already? Thanks
Will do my best!
Review the Proform studio pro 22
Lot of requests for that one. Will do my best to get my hands on it!
@@jaminagide3205 My pleasure and good luck!
It would be so cool if you could compare the proform to the nordictrack bike!
Oh, it is happening Jules! Working on the Proform review right now and then will do the compare a little while after that!
Seems like the obvious comparison would be with Stryde...no? I’d like to see that.
Well, I was thinking the S22i because it is the other option that moves. Also the Peloton Bike+ because they are two of the newest and tp of the line options. But Stryde could be a great compare as well!
@@Learnwithtravis Thanks...I was going for low budget, but yeah, you’re right! BTW, how does the Bowflex report power?
I got my bike about two weeks ago. I’ve enjoyed everything about the bike except the seat itself which is very narrow and uncomfortable on the “twig and berries.”
I couldn’t ride for more than a few minutes the first times I rode.
Of course, I am constantly switching between bikes so I am pretty accustomed to these seats.
ha ha, I always use a spin bike with bike shorts and a gel seat :-)))
The proform has a weight limit of 250 lbs, while the Bowflex has a limit of 350 lbs, if I’m not mistaken .
I would like to see a comparison of the peloton and the peloton+
Awesome! Planning to do that one!
LOL
So your thoughs on Tilt riding vs incline ??? ergonomics of these two machines ???..I have used a Matrix A50 for few years but my knees are hurting and when riding my Giant
Carbon fiber bike they seem right now ok so reason I am thinking one of these units..I did have in mind the Echelon x5s until you talked about blue tooth issue, ..Joe
Hello did you ever find a swivel mount that would work for this bike?
No, but I have not looked in a while. Check out top form design. They may make one.
Great video. What would you recommend for someone who’s only 5 foot tall
@@Learnwithtravis Thanks so much your fast response and information is helpful in narrowing down my choice for a in-home bike
No problem at all! Good luck Tiffany!
Has Bowflex fixed the speaker and lean indicators yet?
Yup. They replaced the entire bike (Minus Tablet) and that did not fix it. When I told them that, they shipped me a new tablet and it fixed things. They were very easy to work with and basically sent me an entire new bike to make sure the problem was resolved.
Does it have the same features of peloton like seeing who is riding with you and high fying and all that?
No, if you think you would enjoy features like that, the Peloton is the way to go. 😀
FYI not getting ur new content notifications?
1. better resistance this or ic4 ?
2. Is this a good option for peloton app?
Thx
I would check the bell settings. You can subscribe but if you do not setup the bell for notifications you don't get anything.
1. Velocore
2. I need to test that. When you select that option, it says to load the Peloton App on another device. What I want to figure out is if still sends cadence information and what the experience is. I will try to include that in part 2 or create a quick dedicate video detailing using "other programs" with velocore.
@@Learnwithtravis okay subscription works !
Lastly - this or stride bike / resistance & quality ?
I’ve heard the screen isn’t great on bowflex
Thx
Overall bike does peloton out beat everything? I need a bike that can be competitive(classes/leaderboard) but super fun atmosphere!
Do you have a comparison of the VeloCore and the NordicTrack? I am having the HARDEST time choosing between the two.
Review of the JRNY interface and how it works with other cycling apps bowflex advertises that ability but it isn’t clear on how.
Sounds good! I need to play with that a little more but will add that to my video list!
Hello Travis, does the seat slide down? I saw a couple of people reviewed peloton plus and velocore and mentioned their seat sinks down and they have to lift it every now and then.
It didn't for me and I am probably around 220 lb. right now.
@@Learnwithtravis thank you
Since ic4 is similar to bowflew c6, can u compare this to ic4 on the resistance. Since already have max trainer i think keeping a bowflew cycling bike would work better since i would only have to pay for one subscription.
Disregard just notice jrny work on velocore not c6... bowflex limited their own equipment.
Haha, all good and thanks for letting me know Juan.
I do like it, it adds something to the ride, and it does help you to engage\exercise
ecognize your core\arms and get more out of the ride.
I’m stuck between the stryde and the peloton+. I have the Joroto x2 and using the digital app. So far so good but would like to upgrade. HELP!
@@Learnwithtravis
Thanks for the reply!! They want $1200. I figure no tax saves too. Your thoughts?
@@JL-kr4jd My pleasure. That is tough. That is a lot of money saved for what would be close to the same experience. My gut wants to say, go with the 16. But exercise equipment is tricky. I don't want you to get this model and instantly question how much more you would enjoy the bigger screen and then not take advantage of what you did get. Short version, if you think you can be happy with the 16 inch model and not question your purchase, save that money. If you think that might be always in the back of your head, get the bigger screen if that is what will get you to take advantage of your purchase. Hope that makes sense!
@@Learnwithtravis
Perfect thank you I appreciate it!
Can you stream the peloton app on this bike’s screen or just on your phone? Thanks!
I have not played with that much yet, but when you go to that it tells you to use another device to load the Peloton app.
Based on your positive comments, I was planning on ordering a VeloCore today but maybe should wait for part 2. Any idea about when that will be out?
So, I think I am going to try to work on that video this week. But to save you, if after watching the first video you feel like this is the bike for you... I would say go for it.
Travis, does the Velocore report power??? If so, how does it report and does it work well?
Just tested the manual ride and no power output. Calories, distance, cadence, and resistance but I did not see Power. Hope that helps John.
Velocore + Zwift Review
Sounds good!
Glad to help! Good luck with your decision but the Velocore does sound like it could be a good one for you!
Does the seat and handlebars move four ways? I watched once and then went back. I didn't see it covered.
No, only up and down so 3-way adjustable.
I plan on buying the velocore, Do they have it arranged so that mutiple riders can use the bike and keep the settings seperate

Sorry for the delay. It was put away while I tested other bikes and had to power it up. You can create multiple profiles and switch between them easily. Hope that helps!
Next introducing the bow flex smart tv if you don’t meet your excercise goals for the day it doesn’t play anything
Lol - that would get a lot of people moving!
Hi Travis, do you have a referral link for Bowflex Velocore?
I do! Thank you so much for asking. That is very kind of you Shilpa! nautilus.atkw.net/XzkLG
Can you use peloton digital on this like stryde?
Nevermind you answered in part 2 lol
Lol - beat myself to answering your question. It is an awesome option for Peloton digital.
Is this a better workout than running on a treadmill.
Honestly, I would say they are pretty comparable. If it were me, I would focus on which option I would enjoy more and be more likely to keep using.
Can I see live peloton leaderboard if I use the bowflex velocore bike with peloton app?
I can't remember if you can see it or not, but I know you cannot compete on the leaderboard. This is only if you have the actual Peloton.
Can you review the soul cycle at home?
That might be the video I am working on right now... 😀
Can I use it without suscription? Just want stats like distance etc.
Sorry, don’t have it anymore to test it.
Can you have multiple rider profiles on this or does it require separate monthly subscriptions for each rider?
You can have multiple. I am not sure if there is a limit... I could not find anything, but you can have multiple and switch easily.
