Yeah you make some neat vids, you make money, praise the lord and sell sell sell right. I think your vids are very interesting but I like to know where you stand on simple sin. Amen! “May the Spirit reign supreme,” says the Lord. “But to you I only have one thing to say. In the beginning did I not constructed the heavens and the earth. “In other words, He is the very first construction worker long before humanity made a tent or even made a home. This shows who God is as well as the type of work His Spirit initiates. “Next, I planted a garden, in which I put your ancestors to tend to it and make crops of fruit grow. To this day, every farmer has continued this work of Mine, bearing fruit for the nations of the world.” This is another thing that pleases the Lord. “So, if these things please My Spirit, then why does no one fear My hand and everyone blaspheme against My Spirit. “Therefore, I will deal justly to all who disobey Me. Did I not clothe Adam and Eve when they wanted more and became depraved? Have not those who bear my image done so to others faithfully.” For this is the last group that bears God’s image faithfully. “Therefore, all those who appose my work will be destroyed; I will overturn them. I will make them like Egypt; they will be like Sodom and Gomorrah. For I do not show favoritism. Behold, I am coming like a thief in the night to commit acts of justice and to uphold My mercy.” Therefore, let the words of the prophet John hold true. At the end of the book of the Revalation, he declared that changing of any part of the text was off-limits. He declared, “I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.” This is what pleases the Spirit, that farmers’ wisdom and builders’ spirits may be elevated against those who conjecture about meaningless talk. To God, all other talk is meaningless. For when God comes, who will even care about the meaning behind these things. They are like smoke, just as the author of Ecclesiastes indicated. Therefore, fear the Lord and his work, and do not conjecture about when these things will take place; rather clothe yourself with righteousness just like those whom God clothes in this very same scroll.
If you are reading the book of Revelation and watching this video to try to grasp what you are reading, just know this: Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, repent of your sins before the Lord, and try your best to live a righteous life with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and you will be just fine. There is no point in understanding the book of Revelation without having a true understanding of God's free gift to us. To The Bible Project Team: Thank you for your amazing work. I used to be afraid of revalations and Jesus’s second coming when I was first getting into the bible because I didn’t want to be unprepared and I couldn’t fathom the idea of the earth ending. But now im excited for end times and im very eager to see Jesus.

Lily Martin You dont have to be a preacher or a pastor to be able to do something for God. Ask him what your purpose is for being brought on this earth. I haven’t found mine yet but I know that if you keep praying and obeying God’s word it will be revealed. He will guide you the right way. Spread the gospel to your friends or to your parents. Thats one way to start. Again im a baby christian to so im not the most spiritually knowledgeable but I do know the holy spirit will guide us. Hope this helps. God bless you and keep you. Amen.🙏🏾

@She Wolf Beyond the source, is about the personal exegesis (interpretation) of sacred texts. 72 virgins is not about human woman virgins, for example, but some people take the data and deform it for some benefit. Apocalipsis is already a highly complex document. In 17 years I have never come across a text that even reaches 1/36th in quality, depth, mystery and danger.
Alpha Force your manner of speech betrays you. why use such language friend? i also find no fault in the Bible Projects interpretation of scripture. Particularly how the Bible is a wide reaching story of God’s redemptive plan for His constantly rebellious humans. It is quite beautiful. Not only that but it is a correct interpretation (Genesis 3:15). God is good, and desires humanity to be with Him once again. Jesus came not to condemn the world but to save it. I find many Christians these days “swat at a gnat yet swallow a camel” (23:34). In they embody almost every quality of a pharisaic Jew in the way of condemnation and judgement, interpreting the Gospel in such a way it seems as though it should inspire self-hatred and to put ourselves under and even greater burden than the law. Christ came to set captives free and the same is our obligation as His followers to believe this message of Hope and spread it. The guys here at Bible Project are doing a great service for the kingdom of God. Personally i use many of their videos to portray the Kingdom to outsiders as they show what a lovely beautiful story our Holy God’s redemptive plan truly is. This is the correct attitude or the “strait path” (Matthew 7:14)
I've been Christian for many years, but just recently due to health issues, my faith has gotten even stronger. Part of that is thanks to your Bible project. Jesus comes in the time of our death also. This is the REAL meaning for that expression "soon", because our lives is so brief. If you aren't prepared in that time of your death, you will lose the "Coming of Jesus".
Same! I have been Catholic since birth but I have been praying a lot and it has truely brought my closer to God. Whenever I have a decision to make, I always ask myself “which one will bring me closer to God”. This has helped me.
I see a lot of “the end times are coming” comments. It’s important to note that it is written in the Gospels that only God the Father knows when the end times are coming. There have been floods, plagues, wars, etc. ever since Jesus first came down to us. We don’t know and we won’t know.
The Bible literally says we will know the season...read Daniel, Acts, Hebrews...they’re extremely specific about what’ll be going on and it’s definitely about more than just weather and war rumors lol

Revelation is a book of warning, hope, justice and victory. It shouldn’t be taken as something only wrapped up in poetry and symbolism. It’s literal truth written for our illumination. Revelation is our hope as Christians. Revelation has always been my favorite book because it’s so blunt and honest, it doesn’t hold back and it tells it how it is. A pure representation of God himself! I come across many Christians that take the book of revelation as a story, or purely just poetry and symbolism for Christian themes rather than truth of what is to come. Sorry my comment wasn’t that clear

You find the book of Revelation to be straight forward and that it doesnt contain poetry? What do you do with the woman atop a dragon drinking the blood of the saints? Is that straight forward? Is that literal? We cannot seriously assert as people who claim to respect the Bible that a prophetic work with almost half its verses quoting the old testement is blunt or straightforward. I hear what you're saying that would be easier, but that seems a little bit dishonest. I don't mean to come accross agressive btw I'm just a little taken back haha.

God can speak to your heart and mind through the Holy Spirit when you read Revelation. Listen for the clear, major points He is making. It is a huge blessing to me.
May the Spirit guide our discernment toward those lessons that let us grow in our faith, and the exercise of our duties to God and our fellow man; as we were instructed in Matthew 24:20
Growing up in the church, I was afraid to touch the book of Revelation. I believed you should only read it once you are mature in the faith and had the theological capacity to understand it. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you and pray God richly blesses you for communicating His word clearly and with creativity. I'm not afraid anymore but now find great joy in this book. Keep up the great work. Lives are being transformed. I know mine is.
We must uses the keys of Daniel to unlock Revelation. Otherwise we are led to believe the common propaganda that comes from Ribbera in Rome, the real culprit.
"Signified" means "shown". Strong's G4591. The same word is used in John 12:33. Jesus had just told them that He would be lifted up, signifying that He would be crucified. I don't think it's a word meaning the opposite of literal.
yes! The number one thing to keep in mind with Revelation that this is main focus point; the reveal of Jesus. You MUST keep that in mind when reading this book. If not, you will wrongly misinterpret crucial parts.

Jesus is coming soon! Although I am not well versed in the Bible at all and I am lacking a lot of preliminary knowledge of Jesus, I fell and see him working in my life and lives around me literally every single day. He is real and powerful. His spirit lives within me and I can feel him working inside of me. I can feel him loving me and guiding me. I can sometimes feel him hug me the ni am down or even whisper in my ears in the most Tuttle way. I want to thank you God for everything in my life. You have shown me so much to prove that you are real and I am not doubting it anymore. I want to get closer to you every single day and be a true man of God. You are coming and I am not scared anymore. I am excited to be with you and to love you forever. Our relationship has been growing everyday and I smile more and even look happier. You took away all the distractions from this colluded world and made me focus on what's truly important. Thank you for everything. I love you so much. Just as my name means "God within us" you are working in me always and I will fulfill my purpose on this earth before I leave.
@@steev708 learn about spiritual warfare. After I did that I immediately lost my will to watch P0-rn and my depression left me. After I learned about it I felt the holy spirit. I watched multiple testimonies of people who came out of the new age and Isaiah Saldivar and John Ramirez. It’s scary but not so scary when you have Jesus and remember that Angels exist as servants of God, some of which are sent to protect us. But once my conscious understood that it was spiritual, I completely changed. I only had 2 urges so far but I beat those up. Stay strong.
I remember back then, I used to be terrified of reading the book of Revelation, it's just so horrible that I can't read any further. But after knowing the truth and accepted Jesus Christ as my savior everything chnged. I now see this book as book of HOPE and promises. ❤
After reviewing the comments here I've surmised two things: 1) I'm reminded of the old nugget of wisdom to avoid RUclips comment sections 2) For every 2 people discussing Revelation, there will be no fewer than 6 opinions presented in said discussion. This book is fascinating and complex in many ways, and I'll echo the sentiment of many here that every single one of us is likely off the mark, and the truth of it will be revealed when the ending of this age comes to pass

This is a great comment, which encourages me cause it means that not everyone here is arguing about interpretation. These comments are putting a lot of doubts into my head and its definitely not what i want as im reading this book for the first time. I want an understanding of this that is correct, and by which, i believe i have to research this but also trust in what the Spirit is saying to me. Amen bro.
Yes very true about all the different interpretations. We probably will be surprised at the actual outcome but will also see how well it fits what is written. Many in the past didn't see the fulfillment of scripture as it occured because it wasn't what they either wanted or expected. It just goes to show that we need to be prepared and to stay close to the one true God.
Jimbo Lawless That’s because the devils plan was/is to mimic the truth of God very, very closely so that people are tricked. Then introducing different views/interpretations within the scriptures, resulting in people with the same views getting together to set up a church. Multiply this over the generations and we see numerous different Christian denominations developing bringing divisions within the house of God. Bingo! Satan has used the age old military tactic of divide and conquer! As Ecclesiastes 1 v 9 says: there’s nothing new under the sun. The Old Testament tells us Gods plans for redemption, throughout it we see foreshadows of Christ in the Old Testament characters, and within there’s books of prophecy telling us how Christ Jesus, who was both fully God and fully man, would be born of a virgin, He’d be tortured and die on the cross for the sins of the world, defeating Satan and death to rise three days later. These books would also reveal the signs of the end times thousands of years before it would come to pass. God has done absolutely everything for us and He gave us the Bible, as written record everything and all we have to do is say “YES” to Jesus, by recognising ourselves to be sinners in need of a Saviour, repenting of all the things we have done wrong, confessing our sins and asking for Christ’s forgiveness, finally inviting Him into our life. This is not too much to ask. God still speaks daily to us, even now, about the things happening in the world today. Christ told us Himself about the end times and the tribulation period that will happen in the build up to the 2nd coming of Christ. In Daniel 12 v 4 it says: But thou O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall be increased. This really speaks volumes about the last 100 years in which we developed air flight, space flight, computers. Science has found DNA and decoded it, they’ve split the atom and they have found particles at the tiniest levels, protons and quarks. They built the Hadron Collider at CERN to study these thing. Over time a vast number of scientists believe they’ve made God redundant. But, it is my view that God, having brought ALL things into existence, is a scientist, He was the very first scientist and, as we continue to advance in this field, science will one day prove God does exist. 🙏🙏🙏

Video did a great job giving a basic overview. There is so much more to the book I wish was reasonable to present in a comment section. I'll just give a few basic points. The book of Revelation is a twin book with Daniel. They both help unlock the other. Along with that the bible interprets itself. Many things can be understood by finding them in other books of the Bible. The 7 churches, seals, and trumpet cover the history of the church from Johns time to the return of Christ. Just from different perspectives. Some symbols to note. A woman represents a church. A beast a kingdom/ government/ political power A horn a king or kingdom within a the larger overall power the beasts represent. Bread, Wheat, Barley the Word of God Waters Many people, tribes, nations (Edit: I need to add- In bible prophecy a day equals a year. Also remember that a month in the Bible was 30 days. Can't believe I forgot to put this in) On the 144,000 This is the only time in Scripture that the names of the tribes appear in this order. Reuben, the firstborn of Jacob, is listed as second while Judah, fourth in birth order, is listed as first. Joseph and Levi are included, while Ephraim and Dan are left out. Names in the Bible have meaning. If you connect the meaning of each name it comes out like this: "I will praise the Lord for He has looked on me and granted good fortune. Happy am I because my wrestling God is making me to forget. God hears me and is joined to me. He has purchased me a dwelling. God will add to me the Son of His right hand."
Thank you so much for this. Your final paragraph highlights something my pastor said tonight - God desires our praise to move on our behalf. By starting with praise, He seems to be confirming that.
Really the best thing anyone can do is to pick up an old style King James bible and a Strong's Exhaustive Concordance. The Bible will explain itself. If something isn't clear in one section it will be in another. And prayer. Pray for the Holy Spirits guidance as you search Gods word.

I read this book and while the end times are terrifying to imagine and comprehend, it’s the promises to those who are faithful and repentant that speak to me just as if not even louder then the dangers and consequences that are to arrive
Sure am. Thought it was time to brush up on the sequence of events in Revelation. I've never had it it quite the right order. Not sure quite where we are but if God wants to make it exquisitely painful for me (which is usually the way, as I take some heavy persuasion to be brought round) then we are not quite at the beginning.
This is a very, very broad overview & can certainly spark interest in the book of Revelation. Please don't settle for this as a tool of complete understanding, as there is so much more depth & detail in studying the literal words of the written record in the Holy Bible. It's a true treasure hunt & the nuggets of gold, which are to be mined, do not come so easily! :)
I realy like the bible project, I let its videos incourage me to read my bible instead letting the amazing commentaries be a substitute for me actually reading it.
This is one of the most confusing books of the bible for me. You have helped to break it down so I can better understand what the book is saying. Please continue with your videos. They have helped me so much in my continual search and studying the bible. God bless!
Be careful listening to people explain the Bible. Not saying this video is wrong, but, when it comes down to it, people’s explanations are only their opinion and interpretation. It’s best to determine your own beliefs.

We have Spirit-led scholars in the Church to help us understand literature (albeit divine) that was written long ago, in a different language and cultural context. No, we don't determine our own beliefs but rather submit ourselves to the revealed truth of Scripture.
Unfortunately, so are the videos on evolution to the masses. I would encourage you to study revelations for yourself asking God directly to reveal the truth. The Bible project gets many things wrong in this video that has consequences for the masses

@@JasonAlexis yeah but evolution is real though and has been and still is accepted by the scientific community for centuries. you don’t have to believe in god or science, you can believe in them both. religion has its merits in guiding people’s behavior, but something very upsetting i see a lot in modern organized religion is people using their faith to cast hatred upon others. jesus in the bible said it himself, the most important thing is to love your neighbor as yourself. christians use the bible to call others sinners, to condemn the way of life of other people, to push their agendas. that’s not what jesus would have wanted. jesus ate with criminals. jesus performed miracles for prostitutes. that’s very powerful to me. it doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, your life is worth just as much as anyone else’s. i guess what im trying to say is, don’t use the bible to hate or judge people because they’re different. because they believe in something else, or because they’re gay, or because they’re a different race or gender or for any reason. be like jesus people. love everyone.

I started last night listening to the scripture and this morning I watched this short video. For the rest of the time being, I want to continue learning more about it. These videos helped me a ton on a study that I'm leading. I started out knowing I'm not an expert on eschatology and knowing there are many conflicting viewpoints- but I think this overview simplified it enough so that there is still some room for expounding but also detailed enough to be applicable and helpful for us today as we wait for Christ!
2 witnesses = Moses and Elijah (vs 2 beasts copying the signs of Moses and Elijah in the OT), just as Christ showed in the vision of His return on the mt of transfiguration.

When I was a child the end times were a constant theme in the churches that I grew up in and (in my memory) Revelation was a book mentioned constantly. Unfortunately the emphasis always seemed to be on whether or not one would be among those who ascended with Christ or left behind, more than the saving work of Christ, and even now I have to preach the gospel and the steadfast love of the Father to myself again and again. All this to say, knowing the Word for oneself is very important and shapes our view of God and how we approach Him. Thank you Bible Project for demystifying Revelation and helping us to read/view it through the correct lens.
Incredible explanation although I do not agree with everything. What's sad is some of us will be satisfied with this explanation and won't bother to read the book of revelation. I think we make the book of revelation way too allegorical and complicated than it truly is. This book wasn't written for theologians and bible students but common, illiterate people too. I am surprised you doubt the authorship and allegorize the two witnesses. I am glad videos like these exist to spread the word but I think we mustn't get content with this. We need to study the bible ourselves and verify.
Niharika Prinsloo absolutely what I was feeling as well. This is a terrific very brief overview and leaves out some key details. I feel like it's great encouragement for people to sit down and take some serious time to read and speak with The Lord regarding His word. I wish that they would add that at the end to help encourage people to seek Him even more. All in all though, there are some wonderful pieces/explanations in here that moved my heart and brought me great joy when I was reminded of how Jesus has already conquered all through sacrifice. Every battle and every war all are nothing to His sword.

I love how some parts of the bible are connected to other parts even tho they aren't in the same chapters, shows that Gods word is used in many different situations and that Gods word is true
It truly is amazing! So many parts talk about the end days. When you read them all as one story you see the bigger picture. It also provides so many more answers (not all of course) about Revelation. For example, read Daniel 11 for more info about the beast (aka the antichrist). Also, Matthew 24-25 to recognize the seasons changing. We will not the know the exact hour, but we can recognize when it's actually beginning.
I attempted to read the entirety of Revelation and was left pretty confused because of the heavy symbolism used. This video clarified the history and significance of the book for me. Thank you for posting.

10:35 *INCORRECT* Here it proclaims that they repent and give glory to God. The video uses Rev 11:13. But the verse Never says they repented but only submitted in fear. Then admitting defeat while in their fear by proclaiming God as conqueror. This doesn't mean they now choose to follow and obey God. Once their fear is gone they'll go to their wicked ways as before. *Rev 11:13(NIV) "At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven."*
This seems to be par for the course with them, sadly. The text cannot mean what it plainly says if it does not fit within their fixed narrative, so they either ignore it, allegorize it, or completely misinterpret it (as was the case here). It's usually pretty unfruitful to dive into RUclips comment sections, but after each video I look for a smidgen of hope that there are others who will act like the Bereans did and examine the Scriptures to see if what is taught here is true.
understanding we are living in a time similar to ancient rome, history is repeating it self, you do not even have to believe in the bible to get this. Denying god is the popular thing to do. Yes i am preaching to the choir here but if you step out of your church/community, those who believe are the minority, and made fun of.... So would you prefer to live now or in Rome 2000 years ago? Big difference between being made fun of and being tied to a stake and being burnt alive for Neros pleasure. Its like Tim's very odd teaching that he'll does not exist or odd interpretation of penal substitutionary atonement. It's his view, fine, but he needs to be upfront and say that. I am very open to this interpretation. I listened to it once and thought it was bizarre, but after listening to it a second time, I actually find it more hopeful than the traditional "pre-tribulation" rapture view. This is not to say that I'm completely sold on it; rather, I am open to the idea that maybe we have misunderstood Revelation much like the Jewish leaders missed the fact that the real Messiah was standing right before them. You look at the Old Testament prophecies and think, "How could they have not known?" Perhaps we're in that same boat. Maybe we're looking at Revelation completely the wrong way.
To me while revelation is interesting and it should be studied, there’s a reason it’s at the end of the Bible. Focusing on what the future holds isn’t the purpose of the Bible. It’s to live now as Jesus did and walk with God and know him. The relationship with God is the true purpose of his Word

It was the John that was one of the Disciples who wrote the book of Revelation. Prior to this, all the Disciples were persecuted and killed in different punishments for their faith and ministry. However no matter how they try and kill John, he doesn’t die (they even throw him into a boiling oil). So instead they banished and exiled him to the island of Patmos. That’s where God blessed and guided him to write the Revelation.
John is the name assigned to the anonymous collection of delusional writing called the Book of Revelation. I don't understand how you people manage to read and praise this written record of a shared delusion. It's not normal.

Therefore, fear the Lord and his work, and do not conjecture about when these things will take place; rather clothe yourself with righteousness just like those whom God clothes in this very same scroll.
If you are reading the book of Revelation and watching this video to try to grasp what you are reading, just know this: Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, repent of your sins before the Lord, and try your best to live a righteous life with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and you will be just fine. There is no point in understanding the book of Revelation without having a true understanding of God's free gift to us.

I haven’t found mine yet but I know that if you keep praying and obeying God’s word it will be revealed. He will guide you the right way. Spread the gospel to your friends or to your parents. Thats one way to start. Again im a baby christian to so im not the most spiritually knowledgeable but I do know the holy spirit will guide us.

Particularly how the Bible is a wide reaching story of God’s redemptive plan for His constantly rebellious humans. It is quite beautiful. Not only that but it is a correct interpretation (Genesis 3:15). God is good, and desires humanity to be with Him once again. Jesus came not to condemn the world but to save it. I find many Christians these days “swat at a gnat yet swallow a camel” (23:34). In they embody almost every quality of a pharisaic Jew in the way of condemnation and judgement, interpreting the Gospel in such a way it seems as though it should inspire self-hatred and to put ourselves under and even greater burden than the law. Christ came to set captives free and the same is our obligation as His followers to believe this message of Hope and spread it. The guys here at Bible Project are doing a great service for the kingdom of God. Personally i use many of their videos to portray the Kingdom to outsiders as they show what a lovely beautiful story our Holy God’s redemptive plan truly is. This is the correct attitude or the “strait path” (Matthew 7:14)

I see a lot of “the end times are coming” comments. It’s important to note that it is written in the Gospels that only God the Father knows when the end times are coming. There have been floods, plagues, wars, etc. ever since Jesus first came down to us. We don’t know and we won’t know.
The Bible literally says we will know the season...read Daniel, Acts, Hebrews...they’re extremely specific about what’ll be going on and it’s definitely about more than just weather and war rumors lol

Revelation is a book of warning, hope, justice and victory. It shouldn’t be taken as something only wrapped up in poetry and symbolism. It’s literal truth written for our illumination. Revelation is our hope as Christians. Revelation has always been my favorite book because it’s so blunt and honest, it doesn’t hold back and it tells it how it is. A pure representation of God himself!

God can speak to your heart and mind through the Holy Spirit when you read Revelation. Listen for the clear, major points He is making. It is a huge blessing to me.

Growing up in the church, I was afraid to touch the book of Revelation. I believed you should only read it once you are mature in the faith and had the theological capacity to understand it. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you and pray God richly blesses you for communicating His word clearly and with creativity. I'm not afraid anymore but now find great joy in this book. "Signified" means "shown". Strong's G4591. The same word is used in John 12:33. Jesus had just told them that He would be lifted up, signifying that He would be crucified. I don't think it's a word meaning the opposite of literal.

yes! The number one thing to keep in mind with Revelation that this is main focus point; the reveal of Jesus. You MUST keep that in mind when reading this book. If not, you will wrongly misinterpret crucial parts.

@@steev708 learn about spiritual warfare. After I did that I immediately lost my will to watch P0-rn and my depression left me. After I learned about it I felt the holy spirit. I watched multiple testimonies of people who came out of the new age and Isaiah Saldivar and John Ramirez. It’s scary but not so scary when you have Jesus and remember that Angels exist as servants of God, some of which are sent to protect us. But once my conscious understood that it was spiritual, I completely changed. I only had 2 urges so far but I beat those up. Stay strong.

This book is fascinating and complex in many ways, and I'll echo the sentiment of many here that every single one of us is likely off the mark, and the truth of it will be revealed when the ending of this age comes to pass

Many in the past didn't see the fulfillment of scripture as it occured because it wasn't what they either wanted or expected.

Jimbo Lawless That’s because the devils plan was/is to mimic the truth of God very, very closely so that people are tricked. Then introducing different views/interpretations within the scriptures, resulting in people with the same views getting together to set up a church. Multiply this over the generations and we see numerous different Christian denominations developing bringing divisions within the house of God. Bingo! Satan has used the age old military tactic of divide and conquer! As Ecclesiastes 1 v 9 says: there’s nothing new under the sun.
The Old Testament tells us Gods plans for redemption, throughout it we see foreshadows of Christ in the Old Testament characters, and within there’s books of prophecy telling us how Christ Jesus, who was both fully God and fully man, would be born of a virgin, He’d be tortured and die on the cross for the sins of the world, defeating Satan and death to rise three days later. These books would also reveal the signs of the end times thousands of years before it would come to pass. God has done absolutely everything for us and He gave us the Bible, as written record everything and all we have to do is say “YES” to Jesus, by recognising ourselves to be sinners in need of a Saviour, repenting of all the things we have done wrong, confessing our sins and asking for Christ’s forgiveness, finally inviting Him into our life. This is not too much to ask.
God still speaks daily to us, even now, about the things happening in the world today. Christ told us Himself about the end times and the tribulation period that will happen in the build up to the 2nd coming of Christ. In Daniel 12 v 4 it says: But thou O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall be increased. This really speaks volumes about the last 100 years in which we developed air flight, space flight, computers. Science has found DNA and decoded it, they’ve split the atom and they have found particles at the tiniest levels, protons and quarks. They built the Hadron Collider at CERN to study these thing. Over time a vast number of scientists believe they’ve made God redundant. But, it is my view that God, having brought ALL things into existence, is a scientist, He was the very first scientist and, as we continue to advance in this field, science will one day prove God does exist. 🙏🙏🙏

There is so much more to the book I wish was reasonable to present in a comment section. I'll just give a few basic points.
The book of Revelation is a twin book with Daniel. They both help unlock the other. Along with that the bible interprets itself. Many things can be understood by finding them in other books of the Bible.
The 7 churches, seals, and trumpet cover the history of the church from Johns time to the return of Christ. Just from different perspectives.
Some symbols to note.
A woman represents a church.
A beast a kingdom/ government/ political power
A horn a king or kingdom within a the larger overall power the beasts represent.
Bread, Wheat, Barley the Word of God
Waters Many people, tribes, nations

This is the only time in Scripture that the names of the tribes appear in this order. Reuben, the firstborn of Jacob, is listed as second while Judah, fourth in birth order, is listed as first. Joseph and Levi are included, while Ephraim and Dan are left out.
Names in the Bible have meaning. If you connect the meaning of each name it comes out like this:
"I will praise the Lord for He has looked on me and granted good fortune. Happy am I because my wrestling God is making me to forget. God hears me and is joined to me. He has purchased me a dwelling. God will add to me the Son of His right hand."

Really the best thing anyone can do is to pick up an old style King James bible and a Strong's Exhaustive Concordance. The Bible will explain itself. If something isn't clear in one section it will be in another. And prayer. Pray for the Holy Spirits guidance as you search Gods word.

Not sure quite where we are but if God wants to make it exquisitely painful for me (which is usually the way, as I take some heavy persuasion to be brought round) then we are not quite at the beginning.

Please don't settle for this as a tool of complete understanding, as there is so much more depth & detail in studying the literal words of the written record in the Holy Bible. These videos helped me a ton on a study that I'm leading. I started out knowing I'm not an expert on eschatology and knowing there are many conflicting viewpoints- but I think this overview simplified it enough so that there is still some room for expounding but also detailed enough to be applicable and helpful for us today as we wait for Christ!

When I was a child the end times were a constant theme in the churches that I grew up in and (in my memory) Revelation was a book mentioned constantly. Unfortunately the emphasis always seemed to be on whether or not one would be among those who ascended with Christ or left behind, more than the saving work of Christ, and even now I have to preach the gospel and the steadfast love of the Father to myself again and again. All this to say, knowing the Word for oneself is very important and shapes our view of God and how we approach Him. Thank you Bible Project for demystifying Revelation and helping us to read/view it through the correct lens.
Incredible explanation although I do not agree with everything. What's sad is some of us will be satisfied with this explanation and won't bother to read the book of revelation.
I think we make the book of revelation way too allegorical and complicated than it truly is. This book wasn't written for theologians and bible students but common, illiterate people too. I am surprised you doubt the authorship and allegorize the two witnesses. I am glad videos like these exist to spread the word but I think we mustn't get content with this. We need to study the bible ourselves and verify.
Niharika Prinsloo absolutely what I was feeling as well. This is a terrific very brief overview and leaves out some key details. I feel like it's great encouragement for people to sit down and take some serious time to read and speak with The Lord regarding His word. I wish that they would add that at the end to help encourage people to seek Him even more.
All in all though, there are some wonderful pieces/explanations in here that moved my heart and brought me great joy when I was reminded of how Jesus has already conquered all through sacrifice. Every battle and every war all are nothing to His sword.

I love how some parts of the bible are connected to other parts even tho they aren't in the same chapters, shows that Gods word is used in many different situations and that Gods word is true
It truly is amazing! So many parts talk about the end days. When you read them all as one story you see the bigger picture. It also provides so many more answers (not all of course) about Revelation. For example, read Daniel 11 for more info about the beast (aka the antichrist). Also, Matthew 24-25 to recognize the seasons changing. We will not the know the exact hour, but we can recognize when it's actually beginning.
I attempted to read the entirety of Revelation and was left pretty confused because of the heavy symbolism used. This video clarified the history and significance of the book for me. Thank you for posting.

Here it proclaims that they repent and give glory to God. The video uses Rev 11:13. But the verse Never says they repented but only submitted in fear. Then admitting defeat while in their fear by proclaiming God as conqueror. This doesn't mean they now choose to follow and obey God. Once their fear is gone they'll go to their wicked ways as before.

This seems to be par for the course with them, sadly. The text cannot mean what it plainly says if it does not fit within their fixed narrative, so they either ignore it, allegorize it, or completely misinterpret it (as was the case here).
It's usually pretty unfruitful to dive into RUclips comment sections, but after each video I look for a smidgen of hope that there are others who will act like the Bereans did and examine the Scriptures to see if what is taught here is true.
understanding we are living in a time similar to ancient rome, history is repeating it self, you do not even have to believe in the bible to get this. Denying god is the popular thing to do. Yes i am preaching to the choir here but if you step out of your church/community, those who believe are the minority, and made fun of.... So would you prefer to live now or in Rome 2000 years ago? Big difference between being made fun of and being tied to a stake and being burnt alive for Neros pleasure. Creative it right. Just creative with the truth. Tim's version of Revelation is his personal interpretation sold as fact. It is very unconventional and definitely NOT the definitive view. Its like Tim's very odd teaching that he'll does not exist or odd interpretation of penal substitutionary atonement. It's his view, fine, but he needs to be upfront and say that. He's selling this as fact. It isn't. At all. Some of his ideas are similar to those of universalists or Jehovah's Witnesses. Just be wary. That's all I'm saying.

I am very open to this interpretation. I listened to it once and thought it was bizarre, but after listening to it a second time, I actually find it more hopeful than the traditional "pre-tribulation" rapture view. This is not to say that I'm completely sold on it; rather, I am open to the idea that maybe we have misunderstood Revelation much like the Jewish leaders missed the fact that the real Messiah was standing right before them. You look at the Old Testament prophecies and think, "How could they have not known?" Perhaps we're in that same boat. Maybe we're looking at Revelation completely the wrong way.
To me while revelation is interesting and it should be studied, there’s a reason it’s at the end of the Bible. Focusing on what the future holds isn’t the purpose of the Bible. It’s to live now as Jesus did and walk with God and know him. The relationship with God is the true purpose of his Word

It was the John that was one of the Disciples who wrote the book of Revelation. Prior to this, all the Disciples were persecuted and killed in different punishments for their faith and ministry. However no matter how they try and kill John, he doesn’t die (they even throw him into a boiling oil). So instead they banished and exiled him to the island of Patmos. That’s where God blessed and guided him to write the Revelation.
