I find the keyboard a bit small on my 14”. I have fat fingers but I’m also still learning to type properly to get over 60 WPM. So, fat fingers and fast fingers on a smaller keyboard don’t work together. It’s incredible otherwise
Now if they could only put ram slots on all their laptops, especially the Envy and Spectre line. It's criminal that they've gotten away with soldering them onto the motherboard for this long.

Good review once again, but quick question: why does your picture slideshow always include pictures with an incorrect aspect ratio? It makes it more difficult to appreciate the display.
We review laptops with many different aspect ratio displays, no one picture fits all. Also, the black areas around the image are very useful so you can visualize the black levels.

My office makes me use the previous model of these. Not a fan of the small screen - I mostly use at my docking station with an external monitor but it's annoying to use undocked as an actual laptop, and I hate the placement of the trackpad in that use case too. Has some minor bugs in Windows I hate, but could be because of whatever it is the corporate IT people at my company do to it. I can see a company purchasing these en masse, but I don't see why an individual would but this as a recreational laptop.
That's a really bad HP marketing decision to put a huge fat shiny "Z" on a notebook right now. A really really bad decision. :-( Instead, the whole branding name "ZBook" on the notebook would have been a much better choice, rather than a single letter "Z". I don't think that this notebook will be a big success, unless they plan to sell it in Russia somehow.... despite the sanctions...

It's obviously going to effect negatively their sales during the war... no need to be a marketing genius. Well with Macs you also do compromises. Anything fails you are screwed, no option to upgrade, save any data off of the SSD, etc. These are no-gos for any company. Not even mentioning the Arm architecture which limits you regarding SW you can at all install. 99.9% of actual engineering SW won't even install on a mac, yet alone work flawlessly. So it is absolutely not an option on 2 fronts for any big, serious engineering / IT / tech company. But for personal, leisure laptop? Sure, why not. I also have an M1 Air for browsing and watching some stuff. Occaisonal music production and creative stuff. But I would not rely on it for work nor can I use it in my work since only company leased IT-managed windows laptops are possible to do work on.

they've chosen DDR5, not LPDDR5. LPDDR5 is more power efficient than DDR5, which may affect the battery life, though I think that effect is small.
LPDDR5 is always soldered, which is a no go for this category of laptop.

Just chose a different screen! Zbook lineup offers many many choices unlike other brands! The 400nits IPS screen is my goto.

XPS is Zbook level. Envy is entry level!
