    What a great idea for an appliance! The dual operation almost certainly eliminates the foul smell that front loading washers get over time. This would be a great add on in apartment buildings that were never build with a dryer exhaust vent to the outside.

    Pretty neat machine. Just bought one to review it. Really interested into tearing into the heat pump to see how it operates. Fingers crossed its a cartridge system. That would be HUGE for GE if it was.

    • @geappliances
      @geappliances  11 месяцев назад +5

      Glad you're excited about the new Combo! While we don't recommend disassembly of your unit, we can say that the heat pump system has been made very easy to repair. The single service part assembly would include the compressor, condenser, evaporator, tubing, and refrigerant preinstalled in the plastic housing. The technician would only need to remove the old assembly and replace it with a new one. This would not require any sealed system work such as brazing or adding refrigerant.
      If you've got other questions about it, we're here!

    • @bensappliancesandjunk
      @bensappliancesandjunk 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@geappliances this is GREAT news I cant wait to share! I was hoping that GE opted for a cartridge-style system for the heat pump. That was my #1 concern with this unit: If a homeowner would have to opt for a super expensive sealed system repair.

    • @geappliances
      @geappliances  11 месяцев назад +1

      We're happy to let you know that the Combo's sealed heat pump drying system comes with a 5-year warranty! If there's ever any issue with the compressor, condenser, evaporator, or connecting tubing due to a defect in materials or workmanship, GE Appliances has got you covered and will replace the system for you. You can find more details about the warranty on page 34 of the owner's manual, which you can access at spklr.io/6058lXrE.
      We're always here if you need anything. Take care!

    This is good for a single person or just a couple. A family needs a separate washer and dryer since you can wash one load and then dry it while washing a second load. If you only have one load of clothes to wash then this is a great idea and very convenient. If you have more than 1 load, it doesn't cut your laundry time in half. It actually doubles it. 2 loads would take 4 hours with this machine, but only 3 hours in a separate machine method. Just food for thought.

    • @geappliances
      @geappliances  3 месяца назад

      Start to finish your laundry is done in about two hours. We also have a Quick Cycle and, with a connected machine, you'll always get updates to ensure you have the fastest possible wash and dry times!

    The single internal module and top mounting of the heat pump makes so much sense and is extremely good for servicablity. I was always hoping for a high capcaity, heat pump based 2:1 unit and this seems to fit the bill perfectly. The automatic drying also means the inside of the unit will be dry completely removing the moisture build up problem in washers. It would be nice if you let people customize the downloaded programs to their hearts content (custom water levels, custom time/sensor dry, etc...)

    How does that all work out with this new machine?

      Happy you're interested! This model's got Microban treated areas, the gasket around the door being one of them. The treated areas are blue. Microban helps to fight against odor-causing bacteria to reduce odor. This unit drains better than previous combos due to the design of the gasket, and the lint filter has a foam filter attached that helps to protect the inner workings of the unit while also catching lint!
      If you've got other questions, throw them our way.

      It doesn't work like a normal dryer. It basically has a freon based dehumidifier built in. So it just recycles the humid air inside the unit, dries the air and slightly warms it, so as it tumbles the clothes it dries them. They are more energy efficient, produce less heat (less damage to clothing), but they take a little longer and have more moving parts than an old school drier...Also, if your dryer is in the conditioned area of your home, a traditional one sucks air conditioned air from in the home, heats it and exhausts it outside. This creates a negative pressure in the home and sucks hot air from outside the home inside through all the cracks in your doors, windows, etc., making your air conditioning have to run longer. I doubt I will ever go back to a traditional dryer.

    • @geappliances
      @geappliances  Год назад +1

      We appreciate you taking the time to explain things! Just to clear something up, this Combo unit does not pull air from outside. It's a ventless model; the heated air is filtered and recirculated within the sealed system. There is no room air used by the system while drying and no warm air exhausted to the room by the ventless Combo.
      Glad you like it though! If you've got questions, we're here!

      A huge selling point with this new Combo is the fact that you don't have to remember to transfer the clothes from the washer to the dryer. No more re-washing clothes you forgot about the night before!
      As a matter of fact, lots of people leave clothes in the washing machine for an average of 130 minutes after the wash cycle is complete before transferring them to the dryer. This product can wash and dry an entire load in less time than the average consumer leaves the laundry in the washer between cycles.

    • @geappliances
      @geappliances  7 месяцев назад

      With the Combo, our engineers spent years reimagining drying performance! The Combo pairs a high-speed fan with a heat pump system for excellent drying results. It tumbles like a conventional dryer but rather than blowing hot air over clothes and sending the air outside through a duct, our heat pump technology recycles the air. It’s warmed in the tumbler, the moisture is condensed into water via evaporative cooling, and the water is drained out through the drain hose.
      We hope this helps. We’re confident our Combo would be a great fit for anyone’s laundry needs, and we hope you’ll join us in the future of laundry!

However, you can choose to select the Timed Dry option and the cycle will end at the prescribed time. You can use the arrow pads to increase or decrease the dry times in 15 minute increments at anytime during the cycle. Let us know if you have additional questions!
