great video, i really struggled getting my starter out. looked thru many videos and no ones video showed them actually removing the bolts and the tool they used to do it. once i saw your video i got a wrench like you used and had no problem. Thank you!

Just FYI, on my 2008 Ram BigHorn, the 2 starter bolts are 15MM. Thought I would share that before you crawl under the truck with possibly the wrong size socket.

And you don't need to remove the battery to replace a starter, you only need to disconnect it.

Working on a friend's dodge 4WD... 5.7L Hemi... 2007. The plastic connector on the starter does not look like this one... first of all, the plastic has almost completely disintegrated, but it is a small rectangle that simply slides over a spade connector on the starter. A single skinny yellow wire comes out of it, about a foot of which is exposed, but eventually goes up into a protective plastic sheath along with the thick red cable that I know goes to the battery. Skinny yellow wire insulation is dried up and cracking off in several places exposing the stranded copper wire inside... This wire needs to be replaced but I have no idea what it is or where it goes. Having excessive difficulty searching net for this wire... I keep getting directed to how to replace the starter... any ideas? Theoretically it should lead me to a neutral safety switch but one piece of info i just located says in the 2007 they got rid of the NSS and went to a TIPM instead. I have no idea what that is. doing further research but its driving me crazy. Taking starter to be tested since I have it off the machine anyway... but without replacing that wire, we are dead in the driveway.

How do you do this on a 4x4? There isn't any room to get a socket or wrench in there due to the drive shaft and exhaust in the way of the two starter bolts. Do those need to be removed first or is there a trick to it?

My starter went bad for my ram 1500 v6, is there anything else that could be wrong with the truck. I'm open to any advice.

Don’t the battery cables hook up to the starter?

Why did you remove the whole battery just to remove the starter that made no sense all that needed to be removed was the negative cable from battery
