JB even though the Action 4 is magnetic mount, does it have a lanyard point ie can connect a safety wire (incase the mount comes off). IE mounting on a motorbike or an aircraft). This is a consideration for those action outdoor people who film stuff. Thankyou
This is a great question and the answer is no. None of the action cams I have (DJI, GoPro, Insta360) have lanyard attachment points. But you can easily secure them using a cage of some sort. The ones I have are really useful and expand the mounting options too

Hmmmm... I bought the X3 a few months back for outdoors B roll footage and totally see what you mean about it getting grainy when you get closer in. The action 4 footage looks amazing
I have considered trying the Leica 1" version of this camera but it's a little pricey. It's also a little heavier so not as convenient for the motorcycle. The X3 is great in full sun situations outside but other than that it's just meh for image quality. I've decided that anytime I know where to point the camera and won't need multiple shots the Action 4 is king right now.
I have an x3 and I want to love it but when you reframe the footage it’s just not that great. In full sun at noon it’s decent but besides that it’s not very good. Just ordered a action 4.
Have many. . . GP Hero, insta360_X3, Action 4, DJI Air 3. Hands down, DJI offers the best video quality. Very, very disappointed with insta360 X3. Sent best video to insta. Asked if there is something wrong. Was told that is normal. Awesome Tips and presentations
RE the GPS/Bluetooth remote, have you figured out how to change the km/h to mph? I just got the GPS remote today and took a video with the Osmo 4 and when you add the speed telemetry, you tap the icon on the screen and will give the option to switch from km/h to mph. Otherwise, great video, thanks for the tips.
As long as you are correctly connected to your phone via the 'Action Osmo Network' then all vids/pics on your camera should show up in the album on your phone, no problem.
This sucks for me! As I do not have a phone to do all this with my new Action4 I had to borrow a friends phone just to Activate an already Activate Camera. Which, I do not understand whats the point in that at all. I even called them and asked them to send me a link on my PC or flip the switch on their end. Since they had all my information as it is. You buy something, it should just work. Not make you jump through hoops like a monkey!
@@JBOutside1 Ya, they tried to make me scan QRs during the CovidPhobics era. My phone will not do that. I even let them try with my phone as they did not believe me. LoL. I still stick with, If you give someone money that is for their product. Than buy said Product. It should just work.
The remote is already so limited (multi cam control) and having to use the mobile app for GPS (the other half the reason to get this) I just cant see why I would get the remote. I see tons of people complaining about multi cam control and DJI just keeps responding with the canned "we will look into this as a feature request" type replies. So until they can atleast give us what Insta360 has with a desktop app, Just no good reason for this. I am also primarily using my camrea for motorcycle stuff. P.S. My first accident in my entire life about a month ago, someone cut me off and brake checked me. My action 4 was chin mounted and I had evidence recorded of the accident to prove the other person at fault right? Nope the Action 4 turned off during impact because there is no record lock control, and when it saved the video it didnt save the last 4 seconds of footage or so, so I lost everything. I have since added cages to my cameras (unfortunatly adds size and weight) but it should protect the buttons from being pressed. I think I'll start riding with 2 cameras at all times just for that little extra piece of mind. So still undecided X4 or Action 4/5 I love the Action 4/5 cameras despite this thats why I have 3 of them, but I am pretty dissapointed with some things and it seems DJI is just great at controling any negative publicity so you never find out about the issues.
Thanks for the content! have you went out on a hot day? did it overheat and at what quality and fps. Also, how do you feel about horizon balance? I see videos that it's not as smooth and tilting/gliding compared to GPH12

@@JBOutside1 thanks for responding. You actually made a good point there. Short videos, a creator pointed that out with overheating issues on action cams as normal usage won't do videos more than 10mins maybe.

The screen reported it was overheated around 15 minutes in. It kept recording thought. I stopped it at 17 minutes...it was still recording. I may do another test tomorrow. @@japrtorres
All these youtubers don't say the things that are terrible wrong. For me the biggest problem with my Action 4, is that you can not edite the 4k video in the Mimo app without losing quality. You can only download up to 1080. If you use the GPS or editor in the Mimo app, you can not get 4k video. That is a really bad thing what I hate so much that I actually feel sorry buying this camera.
@@JBOutside1 That's why I use resolve now but now my GPS module is worthless. I have to choose now between 1080 with km per hour and g force or 4k on my computer with resolve without the GPS options. I hate this so much, I really need 4k and the speedometer

I was thinking about the remote for the GPS data but the whole process of using an app on a phone is really convoluted, so while it would be nice I think I'll pass. Why not just have a desktop app. I made the same mistake with the audio, I have a lark 150 and recorded 2 videos, played them back, no sound, thought WTF worked fine before. Checked everything and finally come to the conclusion I was a dickhead. I had the receiver connection in the headphone port and not the line out.....LOL So yes always check you can see the mic symbol on the camera when using an external mic.
Haha, yeah I agree. Definitely would be better with a desktop app. I’ve downloaded footage and then erased the card and then you can’t go back! Insta360 is a better system for sure.
I'm not a fan of the phone app so I use Telemetry Overlay software to get my motocross lap times on to the video and then I use Filmora software to add music, titles, and transitions.
@@JBOutside1 sold... I'll take three. Do you have an Amazon affil link? I'll pick one up from that
I have an x3 and I want to love it but when you reframe the footage it’s just not that great. In full sun at noon it’s decent but besides that it’s not very good. Just ordered a action 4.
@@Matt.Bogosian would love to hear your thoughts too Matt when yours arrives 👍
Have many. .
Thank you so much
No problem
How to take selfie photos using remote?
Very easy. When the remote is linked and the camera is in photo mode you simply press the record button to take the photo
Yes, I did get that figured out. I wish it defaulted to that but good that you can change!
Mine won’t stay connected to the camera. Quite useless.
Interesting. Maybe check firmware
As long as you are correctly connected to your phone via the 'Action Osmo Network' then all vids/pics on your camera should show up in the album on your phone, no problem.
Yes I agree, but it doesn’t work that way. Something about “signal interference” according to tech support 🤷🏼♂️
I hear ya, that’s a challenge for sure
@@JBOutside1 Ya, they tried to make me scan QRs during the CovidPhobics era. My phone will not do that. I even let them try with my phone as they did not believe me. LoL. I still stick with, If you give someone money that is for their product. Than buy said Product. It should just work.
Do you have overheat issue when using action 4?
I haven't experienced any overheats yet
So still undecided X4 or Action 4/5
I love the Action 4/5 cameras despite this thats why I have 3 of them, but I am pretty dissapointed with some things and it seems DJI is just great at controling any negative publicity so you never find out about the issues.
Agree completely. Others are doing it much better...and nobody has nailed the "other party" integration IMHO yet
Thanx. Great video. So, basically you say that the remote is a waste of money. Not easy to use, Very cumbersome. So thanx for that.
Sort of. If you really want that GPS info it’s the only way. I’ve discovered some additional functionality but not a lot
Glad i found this
Nice!! Thanks for watching
I just ordered the GoPro 12
Me too…for science 😜
Thanks for the content! have you went out on a hot day? did it overheat and at what quality and fps. Also, how do you feel about horizon balance? I see videos that it's not as smooth and tilting/gliding compared to GPH12
I haven't done a hot weather test. Most of my clips are short duration. I do most things at 4K30 and some at 4K60 for B-roll. I use HB a lot and haven't noticed any issues.
@@JBOutside1 thanks for responding. You actually made a good point there. Short videos, a creator pointed that out with overheating issues on action cams as normal usage won't do videos more than 10mins maybe.
@@japrtorres I’m gonna test it out today. It’s hot enough outside! 😜
@@JBOutside1 much appreciation for that man. 🤣
It's 95 degrees here today. I hot soaked the camera for about 2 hours outside so it started out at 95 degrees. I set it for 4K120 with RS on. It was outside in and out of the shade. The screen reported it was overheated around 15 minutes in. It kept recording thought. I stopped it at 17 minutes...it was still recording. I may do another test tomorrow. @@japrtorres
I have been chasing this remote for actually 2.5 months now....
I suggest signing up for notifications on the DJI site. That’s how I picked it up.
Am i gonna order the gps thang only for the dash board? Yeahhh ya i am
👊🏻
I think the biggest problem with this product is that it takes a long time to search for GPS signals....
Also true
All these youtubers don't say the things that are terrible wrong. For me the biggest problem with my Action 4, is that you can not edite the 4k video in the Mimo app without losing quality. You can only download up to 1080. If you use the GPS or editor in the Mimo app, you can not get 4k video. That is a really bad thing what I hate so much that I actually feel sorry buying this camera.
They say that because they edit on a laptop/computer. I agree that your should be able to get 4K out of the mobile app
@@JBOutside1 That's why I use resolve now but now my GPS module is worthless. I have to choose now between 1080 with km per hour and g force or 4k on my computer with resolve without the GPS options. I hate this so much, I really need 4k and the speedometer
@@spoedkoeriereindhoven040 makes sense. I only sprinkle in a few of those shots so I survive with the 1080.
Just wanted to let you know thanks so much for pointing this out. I had no idea and was planning on recording in 4k for a ski trip but wanted gps, but if this is the case I don't need to bother getting it and just will deal without the gps
@@zennokglad you find out before buying the GPS module. I drive on track with my car and would have love the GPS options but 4k is more important to me as well. Enjoy your skitrip
I personally don’t like having gps info on my photos.
Fair enough
GPS Remote is not waterproof
Correct.
Oops, i just ordered this, but kind of a deal breaker since rain is not uncommon over here.
You need another backpack.
Probably
Probably
I'm not a fan of the phone app so I use Telemetry Overlay software to get my motocross lap times on to the video and then I use Filmora software to add music, titles, and transitions. I wish DJI had a PC program. Here is a link to my latest video using the Action 4, Mic 2, GPS remote. ruclips.net/video/DkfxqMkOyFg/видео.html
👍🏻
Show us how to put the door back on. I dare you.😀
Challenge accepted! It can be a little tricky. The key is to make sure the hinge is extended to you can get the clamp part on the body of the camera. With some practice It's now not a problem.
Are they also forcing you to use their cloud hard drives to store your information? All cloud is their servers harddrives. Why in the world would anyone want to store their data on someone else's hard drive!?! WiFi it to your own hard drive!
It’s also on your phone but yes.
@@JBOutside1 It not on my phone. My phone does not even work like that. I use PC. I know lots of people that do not have cell phones and loving it. I will never us cloud as that is someone else HardDrives.
Well this remote is f. Useless. No waterproof, can't export in 4k, only available in mino app.
It does have some pretty big limitations
@@JBOutside1 for a price of 80 euros.. it's pretty limited, yes.
So monotone
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment, it helps others find this video 😁
@@JBOutside1 you. Are. Welcome.
It’s DJI not DGI, why is this so hard to pronounce. 🤦🏽♂️
