    Thanks for the video I went ahead and ordered these to add to the focal replacements in door and dash paired with an audison AP8.9 amp(all plug and play). I give an update after install

    I have F11 530D, standard speakers,.subs under seat, front speakers in doors and rear speakers in roof. I don't have a amp in the boot.
    I can see this speaker is sold as 2 and 4ohm.
    1. Which is right ohm to choose thanks.
    2. Can I swap for these subs in this video and not have to add a amp in the boot.
    I've noticed the bass gets distorted when you turn volume up and just want an alternative upgrade.
    Thanks Alot.

      I wish I could help you! Unfortunately the most awesome 5-series ever made (your F11) never came to the North America market where I am. So i have no experience nor access to that information.
      I would suggest you post this exact question on the facebook BMW 5-series F10/F11 group. Plenty of knowledgeable folks from all over the world there and hopefully one can help you out. Good luck!

      Hey, thanks for the info.
      The system is the same in F10 Vs f11?
      What ohm was your car?
      Thanks for replying

      @@astuteventures i can only assume they are different. All the 3 sound system options for my 2011 model year included an amplifier, for example. Mine had the Top HiFi system with DSP. The subs in mine were actually 4 ohm, so I ran these 2-ohm subs at about half the gains from prior settings.

    This is a awesome video but on my 535i I don’t see the equalizer

    • @turbospool
      @turbospool  7 дней назад

      That is odd! At least in the USA all F10s regardless of audio option had equalizers (depending on what sound system is how customizable it is… but all had it). You gotta dig into the iDrive menu for the settings under the Tune section

    My trailblazer has a pair of bose subs in the front doors, designed just like these and heavily considering them. I would definitely feed them rated rms power AND use foam baffles/buckets if I went this way. I just cant tell if Its worth going this route , or simply just get a traditional Sub box/amp in the back. Any thoughts?

    • @turbospool
      @turbospool  11 месяцев назад

      The sub box in the back will be the best at cresting that low down bass you want. HOWEVER, it comes at the cost of the space it takes up. A “truck box” with a 12” sub is quite narrow in depth and can take up minimal space against the back seat ( or alternatively, mount it length wise if you frequently carry long items that require you to drop the back seats).

      @AllboroLCD 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@turbospool TY much, think im gonna try the slim earthquakes, if it aint enough, theyll go on normal bass duty with a box out back doing the heavy lifting. Cheers!

    Put these in my E64. Complete different set up. Now my entire back side panels rattle like the speakers are blown. The speakers rub against the panels bc you cant use the "horn" surrounding the factory sub. It is just a hassle. Under the seat, these work. Convertible models like mine? Just don't. Zero vids or instructions or help on the Convertibles. 😂 now i see why.
