It's crazy how much RE4 still holds up graphically
I thought about why this is, an it's less about it being comparable on a technical level to today's games. It's more about it taking full advantage of the hardware it was released on and being completely consistent in visuals and atmosphere.
It's very clean and nothing ever looks jarringly bad or low-fidelity compared to anything else. You can go through the whole game and feel completely immersed in your environment. It doesn't need 2023 photorealism to achieve that.
Man, I downloaded HD Project for the original right before the Remake came out...
It's even crazier, it even improves some physics of the game, like the jacket, the hairs... etc
This fan made project is described a lot by Jacob Geller (if I remember correctly)
You def should check that out, it's like the perfect Remaster

@@bastienhouse5202 It's astounding how much his channel has grown. I don't remember the exact number, but I've watched and been subscribed for a few years back when he had I think around 100k subs. He for sure puts a lot of effort into his videos.
If I had to name my 2 favorite RUclipsrs, I would say Markiplier and Jacob Geller. Both are incredibly motivated and hard-working people, and Mark is a huge inspiration and role model for many, especially since he expanded beyond the RUclips space.
I would say remake and OG are equal considering its 2005 game with so much details

Every time they give their opinion in the comments about the difference between the games and which one is better, they have to put nostalgia in the middle and that for that time the old one was a great game. Re4 was ahead of its and therefore , standing face to face with remake . I know y'd say he used hd remastered version but still it have just increase texture scaling and resolution and not changed the game completely . Hats off resident evil 4

I kind of thought the original felt creepier because it was so grey and foggy.

The remake is creepier, thanks to actual fog, weather effects, enhanced gore, more detailed enemy designs, better sound design, and smarter/ more aggressive enemy AI.

og character design is UNBEATABLE
I like the original faces better, they are longer and a bit sharper in features. The newer faces are wider and the eyes kinda look a bit spaced.
Leon seems to have female shoulders in the remake lol, looks very feminine lol

I wish they didn't change the cinematics of bosses. Although I really enjoyed the remake, the cinematics for the bosses were just so good in the original.
I think the remake is definitely better. Of course in 2023 there are better graphics and the game is more realistic, etc. People who played the original are probably more attached to that one but I feel like RE4 in 2005 and 2023 are both very good games and they did a really good job on them. The original is for a game that came out 19 years ago really impressive imo but I‘m glad they made a remake and managed to expand its potential to the top. The atmosphere in the remake is so much better and creepier, the original felt more like an action game rather than a survival horror but thats my perception

start with RE4 original first & then RE4 Remake *only if you're comparing them.*
otherwise starts with RE4 Remake first & then RE4 Original to get best experience & don't want to feel regret later since this new Capcom already kneeled down to those snowflakes to ruin our fav old games' originality.
(also if money is problem & can buy only one game then I would prefer RE4 Original if I were you otherwise if you don't have budget for any of them then uk Our Gamers' good ol way *wink wink *)

It's dated. The remake is the better game due to advancement in technology. The original is dated but its good that you can deal with the clunky gameplay

I only remember 2 horror parts in the original

and a single zone of "survival horror" the part where ashley must survive defenseless escaping as she can from the enemies.
If there is one thing that has always been criticized by the most purist sector, it is how Resident Evil 4 turned into an action game, leaving its most terrifying essence.
and it is enough to play the only start of resident evil 4 remake to realize that they have put a more frightening atmosphere than the original even being focused on action.
Don't be blinded by nostalgia, perhaps the original scared you more because you played it in another period of your life, being younger and under other standards.

Original holds up very well, overall even with the dated hardware still looks better than the shitty remake, and also leon looks like he just transitioned in the remake
