This mod makes him look so unbothered about literally everything. It's like he knows he's in a game.
It feels like whether it's first or third person, Ethan is just overall a mundane and stoic character for no reason.
At least in outlast our character... Screamed? When they were in danger?
I liked the theory before RE8 that Ethan was a secret agent that was trained in espionage and war which would've explained his calm demeanor throughout the game.
@@mikaross4671 Honestly, some people are just naturally really good under pressure, or adapt to new situations really quickly. One could also say that Ethan spends the entire game just... in a constant state of shock.

For the game to be normally in first person Ethan is actually very well animated
I'll never understand why people think resident evil needs to be a certain way. I'll play 2002, REmake 2 and 7 in a row and be like yup these are all acceptable ways of making resident evil.

I agree, one of the things I love about the Resident Evil franchise is that it tries to strike a balance between familiarity and innovation. The innovation doesn't always work out because the fanbase expects something very specific. RIP RE6, I didn't mind you but you definitely went too far beyond your fans' tastes lol.

Same with the machine gun, you can tell in his shadows silhouette that he holds it up right to his face and it’s looks so goofy
A cool thing this mod shows is that animations that look great or at least good in first person can look absolutely horrible in third person.
Like a lot of the time it physically doesn't make any sense where the hand or head is, but when in first person that kinda stuff is really hard to notice.
Which is interesting because in Village the animation is actually very impressive, despite not seeing Ethan's full body. Though it might be because they intended on adding a third person mode from the very beginning.

If you read all of the documents in the room where you get the e neurotoxin, it explains that the arm and the head serve as the cells that can essentially rapidly speed up the process forcefully but the fungus can't take it in early stages so it dies and that's why it works

2nd person would be when you play the camera man since 2nd person is defined as "you" so if the character is supposed to be "you" then from the playable perspective "I" is the camera man

so, I have always thought second person as 2D sidescrolling, you the "second set of eyes" are watching the first pair "the chracater your playing" from the sidelines instead of behind him.

@@mostcertainlyben My friend and I were joking about how hilarious it would be if they found a way to obscure Ethan's face in every cutscene. Like having a branch block his face, or a lens flare completely covering it. Realistically, I doubt that they'll keep his face hidden in third person mode.
