To be honest, I didn't see any big tactical differences from the France match. New Zealand was simply much weaker than France in terms of player quality and tactical implementation. Only the ball possession with only 48% against New Zealand is poor. And I wouldn't go so far as to say that the USA should have scored 5 or 6 goals. Because New Zealand didn't show a bad defensive performance. 13 shots from the USA, 7 of which were on target... I think there is also a goalie there. And it's not just for decoration between the posts.
Lesson 1: Mihailovic and McGuire suck Lesson 2: Paredes might not be a winger Lesson 3: Start Gaga or stop playing out the back Lesson 4: Booth and Yow should start Lesson 5: Result doesn't correlate with play (we played better against France than New Zealand) Lesson 6: We're likely going to quarters Lesson 7: Thierry Henry is terrible, but we can't overlook Guinea
Hell yeah gaga should be the starting goalkeeper! Idk why Schulte a decent MLS goalkeeper is starting when gaga has been a hero in Europe with Eupen and was better in the MLS when he was there.
Player by player: Schulte: Made some good saves 1 big, very unfortunate for the goal Harriel: Put up a very good performance, both defensively and attacking Zimmerman: Same goes for him good performance and nice goal Robinson: Was alright just felt like when the team was up he was less Sharp Tolkin: Looked great if usa goes further in the Olympics we could see him leave the red bulls Tessmann: He is really showing his worth with the interceptions and passes. He sometimes escaped tight spaces, could be on the 2026 wc roster Busio: Played could have been a bit sharper with his finishing, but overall pretty (except for the injury) Mihailovic: Had a okay game (penalty and assist), but still think there are better options than him Paxten: Dude is a baller the Olympics and if he does well at Utrecht, Frankfurt needs to give him minutes McGuire: Hasn't really been impressive, especially this game you would expect him to score. Think it's time for the bench, give him a little fire to work hard Parades: Same with him both games he fell short, plus kept spending time on the ground SUBS: McGlynn: A beast really and truly underrated, his passes good and a left foot that's a rocket. Europe could be calling, needs more minutes in the tournament Dietz: Was okay, wished it was Caleb though Yow: Baller aswell, instead of a better Belgium club he needs to find a club in the top 5 league's Cremaschi: Was okay, Lost the ball 3 times do. I think with him he needs to focus on what he got, being a work horse and can find himself in good positions in front of the goal. Booth: Another the guy that deserves more minutes and I he keeps on going could be on the wc roster
Look to Confederations cup 2009 for a unique situation where 1 team beat everybody else, than the other 3 teams scraped by by beating each other, and it was a goal differential for getting to the knockout round with a single victory(where we beat Egypt by 3 goals to go through).
I have some hope going into this last match but like you said, Guinea could be a trap game. The goal difference defenitely come back to bite us, especially without Jesus Ferreira, and New Zealand honestly could have scored another goal or 2 which would put us in a worse spot. I'm confident that we can lose and still advance, but worried that we can lose and New Zealand can draw against a french side without starters. Duncan must be dropped hes horrible.
Diego would’ve given more creativity and going forward made them more dangerous. Mihalijavic is a coaches pick. But I think he’s more of a leader. And he is having a good year. I think intangibles djordie brings are a net positive for this young team.
Prediction: we will give up two goals vs Guinea. If we bench Duncan then we will likely score at least one goal and move on. If Duncan starts we have a solid chance of getting knocked out. Hopefully he will get better later in his career but right now he isn’t ready for this stage.
Pretending MIhailovic is awful because you didn't think he was dangerous enough or impactful enough is really a mental illness. When you coach players and you think there's some area for improvement, do you write them off as sucking? Once again, there's zero criticism of the team's passing & movement, which is the reason you don't see MIhailovic more involved or more dangerous, but any informed fan can see that Tessman & Busio are mostly feeding the wings as opposed to play the ball into Mihailovic in the middle. Kevin Paredes & Paxten Aaronson have done nothing by the way minus Aaronson's two shots, so why not sub in Taylor Booth over one of them. Booth isn't a real 10 anyway. If Luna were here, he could play left wing with Booth on the right wing.
It's strange to make fun of Berhalter for saying verticality like he was stupid, when it's just a synonym for directness, and why are we making fun of Berhalter for trying to get the team to be more direct?
70% chance of going through? Definitely no more than 69%. Nice!

Possession percentage doesn’t matter at all
In terms of talent and quality, we are closer to France than New Zealand is to us
@@williamstahly3258 Well... Thats what i tried to say with Others wird's. But there is a lack of quality anyway.
this team not having Diego Luna is really coming back to haunt them because paredes to me has not been as advertised; and mihailovic??? jesus
Taylor Booth is one of your best players when needed USMNT depth he's explosive and technical

Yes don't underestimate Guinea. They are our COPA version of the Panama game. We must be ready to go!
I didn't get to watch this one but I feel like Paxten usually manages to produce.

Yeah that’s why he said he’s the Roldan of this team. The good vibes guy.

It kills me to watch these kids, who don't anticipate play, then try to Tee up the ball to shoot, I don't enjoy yelling at the TV.
We learned nothing they played New Zealand, and they won a game they were supposed to win
Gotta find that shirt..😂😂
❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️
All of our goals were hella ugly aside from the penalty. I’m not convinced this team can go far. New Zealand is just weak and so will Guinea
New Zealand is an Island nation with a population of 5 million people, we should beat them since the talent pool is shallow.
USA 2-1 Guinea
One thing I learned is Kevin parades is a fish
Dude is so mad he can’t hate on Gregg during the Olympics

I don't get all the Djordie Mihalovic hate. He's been fine? He hasn't stood out to me either way
I think the deal he is an over-age player and those guys are supposed to lead you to victory, not be fine?
That makes sense. Would his replacement be Booth?
@@ninjalectualxbooth or Aaronson. One would play as a 10 and the other would be on the wing

We took great win from yesterday game Dear Filippo. Infact we are so great team but we need a time.❤🤍💙💯
