    Dude these shots are so sick! I love how the footage that comes out of this camera has a slight vintage look to it & honestly this video has been my decider on whether to purchase it or not. Definitely sold, great video well done - would love to see more visual videos from you as I love the way you capture things very simply without any crazy transitions or effects :)

      Thank you so much man! It’s definitely a good purchase. I agree though, both the fx3 and fx30 have such a nice image straight out of camera. I’m working on another test footage video with the Sony 15mm 1.4 and a few other fx3 videos so I got you!

    Your footage looked so good. I was on the fence about getting this lens or the 30mm 1.4 ended up going with the 30mm. Perhaps I made the wrong choice as this lens seems so flexible

    • @JML_Films
      @JML_Films  2 года назад +1

      Thanks man! Yeah I really love the 18-50, the focal range is super versatile. What I love most is the macro capabilities. It lets you get some super creative extreme closeups which look way too good in 120. I’ve also looked at that 30mm though, I’ll probably pick it up at some point!

    If you have to choose 1 lens What is the best prime you will choose ? Im thinking about 24 1.4 and then buy 28-75 tamron lens after ... What do you think ?

    • @JML_Films
      @JML_Films  2 года назад

      As of right now the only prime that I’ve used is the Sony 15mm 1.4, but I think a prime 24 or 35 would be a good move. Just a heads up with that tamron 28-75: it’s designed for full frame cameras so the focal length will be something like 42-112.5mm on apsc cameras like the fx30. They also have a 17-70 that’s designed for apsc cameras that seems pretty solid though

    really nice shots! i'm in doubt between the sigma 18-50 f2.8 and tamron 17-70 f2.8, have you tried the tamron lens?

    • @JML_Films
      @JML_Films  2 года назад

      Thank you! I haven’t used the 17-70 but I was definitely considering getting it too. What really sells me on the 18-50 is the minimum focus distance for macro shots, but that extra 20mm of focal length would be super nice

  • @EduardoStefanello
    @EduardoStefanello 2 года назад

    Beautiful footage! I'm considering the same kit fx30 + 18-50, what still hasn't made me decide is that I'm in doubt when the lens, 18-50 seems very good to me, but I'm afraid about the performance in low light compared to the sigma trio, but then I think it costs twice as much and the versatility I lose. What did you think of the lens in low light? Does it work well with second base ISO at 2500?

    • @JML_Films
      @JML_Films  2 года назад +1

      To be honest I expected the low light performance to be a little bit better. It’s not bad or anything but from my experience it was pretty grainy unless you can overexpose. The 3 sigma primes would probably be a good call if you are shooting in low light frequently

  • @TeamOise

    What color profile did you shoot the 4K 120 on? ..... Cuz it's pretty good here but very noisy when I shoot in slog3

    • @JML_Films
      @JML_Films  2 года назад +1

      Everything in this video was shot in Slog3. I always shoot in the base isos and try to overexpose my shots and then I just bring it down in post, it’s been giving me great results.

    Pretty fkn good. Idk if it is the lens or your post processing or both but this whole thing is a dream sequence.
    Tell me about the Kodak aspect of this?

    • @JML_Films
      @JML_Films  2 года назад

      Thank you bro!
      The Dream Fx diffusion filter I was using really gets the highlights glowing a lot. It’s a little strong sometimes but I don’t mind it.
      I used a Kodak 2383 lut quite a few times when I was grading which is supposed to emulate the look from real Kodak 2383 film so I figured I’d just throw in a quick color breakdown
