It's yeah to put it in a much deeper way of just explaining yeah, it's what makes it so interesting, not least in seeing older former things, like find the old Soviet stuff really fascinating, doing some real just out of my own curiosity of how things were back then the good and the bad actually. One thing I find really interesting think was someone at least who said during the 1960s though wasn't until around 30 years later they admitted they'd failed at Communism, gets on my nerves when someone says going full communist, since not one states ever fully done that, implemented everything as it is in the manifesto by Marx and Angles, for a start the Soviet Union always had a hierarchy to society in fully gone Communism there simply is nothing of the sort in that.

I’m beginning to realize that we in the West aren’t as open to foreigners as we’d like to be. These people are all ten times nicer than the folks I meet on the streets here in Western Europe.
That’s because Foreigners visiting means they are getting attention, meanwhile countries where tons of foreigner go to obviously going to be bored of them eventually especially since there are those who will give the bad impression and takes one rotten apple to ruin the bunch as the saying goes
Funny thing is that the 1-2 was scored by a Luxembourgish player and me, from Luxembourg, I am sitting now in Chisinau and will visit Transnistria in some days.
I live in Transnistria. And very intresting to see a view from another person about my country. Because when i live here i do not see much. Balt, you opened my eyes and made me smile! Thank you!
Here is my take on 'bald and bankrupt' There is no 'malice' , no agenda to harm a country. No politics (What a dirty deadly game). He let the people talk. He mix with everyone. He walks with the man in the street. It is pure. If a company should hire him to do documentary's, then the pureness of his work will be destroyed. This post was very interesting.Thank you.
I like the way he does things too. He has an excellent way with people, and it's charming to watch. I worry that no politics can lead to a blind acceptance of the way things are, though. I would be very interested to hear any citizens that feel comfortable opening up about their political opinions. I understand why the host of an inclusive travel channel would choose to remain as neutral as possible, though.
It's incredible how videos like these can keep themselves separate from politics. And I love it. I don't want to watch such a video in order to be lectured in favour of or against any political agenda.

Yeah though unfortunately Bald is in the minority when it comes to Brits abroad. He's educated, cultured, speaks Russian and takes the time to respect the people and country he's in. Typical British people abroad only speak English and spend most of their time shouting at pubs and looking for fish and chip shops and generally not giving a shit about the culture. That's why those shitty party islands are so popular with Brits, because they are basically home away from home. If you are none of those things, then you too are in the minority.

My mother was caught up in the fighting that took place in 1992.. she was 16 at the time and had just completed a fashion exam as she studied in bender. She was shot at on the streets when the fighting commenced but she had escaped to a local church where she actually met my dad (later married and had 4 kids) who gave her directions to a basement with strangers which she stayed for 3 days until there was a ceasefire to collect the bodies as it was hot and it started to smell . During this ceasefire many people took the chance to flee bender where my mother also managed to flee and took a bus to the small village of Stefan voda in Moldova. She has a near call when a sniper took a pot shot at her but they missed .... My father's cousin was killed by a Moldovan soldier while he was walking when the fighting started Then I was born here in bender but luckily moved to the UK when I was 7 months young and now am a current citizen in London. It's so refreshing to see that people actually notice this place..... it's close to my heart and I am proud of the bravery of my parents during the fighting. I visit bender and Stefan voda every two years or so and the bullet holes still remain in the buildings and apartments. Most of the people I've spoken too have never heard of this place. It's incredible that you have decided to include this place .. the place where there is so much history within my family yet hardly anyone knows this place.
Wow, that is so tragic. But at the same time it makes a wonderful story how your mom & dad met, taking cover in a church and getting shot at by snipers. It's like a movie. Nowadays people hook up on Tinder, no story there to tell your kids.
I don't want to sound disrespectful, but you said that your father's cousin was shot by a Moldovan. Tell the whole story already. Bender is a city located in the south of Moldova, Transnistria area. We Moldovans fought for our land, taken by the Russians several years ago. My history teacher also took part in the armed battles on the Dniester, I don't want to go into details because they are terrible. You can also mention that Transnistria received help from the Russians, bringing them weapons, etc.

@@AverageDoomer69You are delusional if you think so, not to mention you are delusional to think that the east had any kind of glory in the past. Dude, you couldn't buy a full piece of soap, only half piece. About other products there no point to even talk about. USSR was a joke. Sure they had a strong army, while majority lived in poverty. Is that the " glory" you are talking about? Fuck that kind of glory. Russia has had its chance, and it BLEW IT, TWICE. In 1917, then in 1991. The west isn't going to fall anytime soon. Maybe 200-300 years...
Alek Shukhevych Lol! half peace of soap :D Such things was true only after war for some years (because nazis exterminated cities and thousands of factories), but never later, moreover, card system for goods/food USSR canceled yearly than own system cancelled Britain (which de facto lost almost nothing in war and anyway failed to restore own economic faster). Lack of some goods happened in late years of USSR, mainly after perestroika, it is true, but only in state shops, not in markets where existed everything freely. It was result of low prices, so everyone could buy everything. And some people often bought more than need, so another left without goods. It is well known problem which still unclear how to solve in future, classical example: to village came truck with bread for whole village. Some peasant buy all this bread and feed with it own pigs. He bought all bread for own pigs because it cost nothing for him. From another side in shop is lack of bread for rest villagers. In your country all the same actually, but with one difference: exist class segregation, so when you see poor homeless people on streets, you not cares which amount of soap they can buy. They can’t buy even half of it, so you can buy whole. That why you consume more, because some one consume less, but you is parasite and not cares about rest. As example in modern US (richest country) more homeless kids than existed in USSR even after nazis invasion. This is ‘price’ for ‘soap’... But, Soviet Union in general destroyed western colonialism, rest parts of world got freedom, now they actively growing, becoming richer, world is changing, western countries becoming poorer. And yes, in almost each western countries modern generation living worse than previous. As example for US it is true from 1960s, each generation is poorer than previous (compare that times when husband could feed whole female, with modern situation when wife also working and family can’t survive without loans). West not surrender of course, that why it as example in 2011 attacked and destroyed Libya, stole whole it gold, bank accounts and continue to stole oil. Tried to get access to market of Ukraine and CIS countries, but failed. And so on. And it not help a lot, look at economical situation, a lot of countries already de facto bankrupts, EU still not restored even after 2008.
The Ferris wheel was definitely the most interesting part of the amusement park, because it appears to have been of the exact same type as the one in Pripyat, just painted differently.
What's more is that the one in Pripyat will also work if you turn it on... Because the country did not have a dedicated industry, these were produced as surplus by a military supplier, and thus, they will outlive both you and me combined.
pripyat is basically not further than a couple of hours of travel by road, less than 300 miles my father once went through a checkblock (he was allowed since he was shipping cargo that required immediate delivery, and it's barely a 15 minutes drive between checkblocks... he described it as eerie peaceful, like not being sure if you are dreaming or not)

I mean can certainly draw maybe some slight at least comparisons to some within the more rural places they've been in, like with the understanding of the limiting maybe somewhat, but in reality where I moved back to literally where I was born yeah it's not like we're cut off from other places can possibly get to for work so it's always going to be a very limited comparison.

"They know Moldavia." Haha, that's hilarious. When Moldova is your famous neighbor, you're really out in the boonies.
Moldavia is entirely different from Moldova
@@matthewsoldano Hmmm, you sure about that? It seems like she was referring to Moldova in Russian. I just searched for Moldavia specifically, and it refers to a region in the same part of Europe, that existed from the 14th to the 19th centuries. It doesn't seem like she would have been referencing a country that ceased to exist almost 200 years ago. Wikipedia: "The western half of Moldavia is now part of Romania, the eastern side belongs to the Republic of Moldova, and the northern and southeastern parts are territories of Ukraine."
@@GabrielTravelerVideos its the same thing
e.g in croatia, moldova is called moldavija
@@poki580 Yeah that's what I thought.
@Justin bieber is underated lol hes right tho, there are more ethnic Russians there than actual Moldovans
Seems like everywhere Bald goes and people say "Dont go there" he goes and it's always a blast.
@@surveyorsairinc2166 Did you miss the one where he went into the most dangerous part of La Paz?
@@surveyorsairinc2166 cuz he looked like a drug lord on that suit
@@fofopads4450 For real lmao, suit, shades, big tall white bloke holding a camera walking around like he owns the joint... I wouldn't touch the fucker too

@Русский Человек Мы - это кто?
@Русский Человек Если ты русский человек, то должен знать, что в Приднестровье практически все считали и считают себя русскими или, как минимум, вместе с русскими!!!! Так что привет из Приднестровья.
The best dude on youtube, you're going to have a million in no time. EASY.. just stay real. CANADA GOT YA.
I had major surgery back around the time this video came out in 2019, and this channel really helped me get thru a tough time by taking my mind off everything. Rewatching never gets old! Thanks Ben/Bald.
Hope you're doing well!
@@bauklotz6279 Heya, I just happened to be rewatching this and saw my comment I forgot I made, haha. I'm doing considerably better than I was prior to surgery, without going into too much detail I had to have my colon removed and my intestines rearranged. Will never be "normal" but I'll take it! Cheers.
Your knowledge of history, Countries, Culture & the old ways is amazing. Your camera knowledge is spot on. ❤
Not only do you tread where few travel vloggers would go, but you know the language of the natives, and you're outgoing. You've got everything going for you! Cheers from Iceland :)

Couple months later after your trip, Sheriff Tiraspol of Transnitria has won 2 Champions League group stage games so far this season! We are all SHERIFF! 🤠
I was looking for this comment lol
He said "I'm showing my friends Transnistria" and they showed him the shatroom
🤣
Yeah, because it was Transnistria when it was occupied.
Just got the impression from the comments a few people missed it, including Bald.

@@deadringer6759 Appreciate for clarifying that. I was wondering if that old russian lady wanted a piece of bald for herself lol
You're such a lovely dude. You treat everyone with such respect. Bravo mate!
Can you make a video about yourself? Where and why you learnt Russian..why you have a fascination with Russia and why you’re going around all these places, I enjoy your videos..very interesting
Max 123 he actually explains all that in an older video (I don’t remember which) but he basically says that he learnt Russian by practicing the vocabulary, I don’t know where his fascination for Russia comes from but I do know he wrote a book about it. Maybe he’s trying do more research to write another idk, but the book is called the burning edge by Arthur Chichester if you are interested...
Think he comes from Brighton and these places are so much more interesting. Whoops!
