Just be more loose you gotta start no being scared of getting the anatomy wrong and get used to drawing really curvy shit, later you learn anatomy but the first step is being loooooooooooose

Part of the secret is exactly those 5 seconds. He does it fast, he does not pay attention to contours just to the gesture and then he contains the gesture with roughly cilindrical shapes.

    • @idk-nm8xr
      @idk-nm8xr 7 лет назад +41

just practice drawing body parts or Gestures and you should get faster at drawing it.

Worst drawing session times I've done:
    "9-5" - 9pm to 5am
"The Grind" - Working for hours til you become tired of drawing.
"Hit it 'n Quit it" - Stop by, sketch a little, then no more art for the day.
"Staredown" - Just look at the screen/paper until I get an idea

NobleHusky These look like achievements. I'm adding my own.
"Ok, one more go..." - Redraw the same body part 5 times in a row
"Let me take a Selfie!" - Try to draw using yourself as a reference
"Painter's Face" - Fall asleep while working
"RAAAGE!" - Snap a pencil in frustration.

I've noticed that myself. I think it has to do with how much you're concentrating a lot on doing it "correct" rather than just doing it. It's like you're not holding yourself back as much, just letting the idea flow. Not entirely sure, just an idea!

Hey idk if this helps but I started learning and drawing body proportion not based on such videos (although the tips given are gold) but based on fashion videos that would teach u the very basic of body proportion. So even though I was only a beginner, the instance I watch this video it was already pretty easy for me to grasp and I learnt very fast. Good luck!!!

Holy, back again two years later. Just wanted to say that this video was the one that helped me seriously improve my art. You teach in a way that's both interesting and easy to understand, and you explained all of the things that I was struggling with as an artist to a t and gave wonderful solutions to those problems. You and your videos helped me so much in becoming the artist I am today, and I genuinely can't believe how much I've improved sometimes. Looking back on my old art, I can actually see the moment when I started watching your videos and the way it influenced my art. Thank you, Sycra. You're awesome!

The first tip alone got me out of the worst drawing slump I've had. I couldn't draw without getting frustrated about how nothing was looking right. I love drawing but it had really felt like I'd lost the connection. After listening to the first tip I grabbed my music, my pencil and paper and just did some practice drawings. It felt awesome to sit down and do that. And then finishing the video has also boosted some stuff. This is a really good video!

This video literally changed my life, I watched it about 4 days ago and since then I've learned how to be so much looser and flowing. My bodies aren't stiff anymore and I just drew two full body self portraits and they turned out so much better than I could ever create before. Thank you for making this video!

Wow, my eyes are opened! I used to always sketch with straight lines, but the whole curve technique has already helped me so much. My poses look much more lively and it just makes proportions easier for me compared to my old sketching method. Thanks

More straight lines = stiff, boring, unrealistic.

One video saying to draw rectangles as chest and hip helped me get the general pose and this one I guess will help me get more flowy. Just combine I guess, that's what I do. Unless you're a professional you can't do masterpiece scribbles like here lol so what he said, be loose and don't expect much, do just that, but you can use straight lines and be loose too, if it helps you know
