Can you make more video about drawing background Mars Shells? I've watched both of your Background video, but I'm still having trouble drawing background. :(
This and the roadmap that he made are game changing. Following along with exercises literally improved my art more in the last 3 hours than i had improved in the last 3 MONTHS. Deliberate and well placed practice really makes a difference. Thank you for this really comprehensive guide!
Damn bruh you literally made me realize that being an artists is fun, I remember repeatedly watching your "How to draw heads" and "how to draw poses" so I could learn to draw exactly 2 years ago. Back then I was so bad at drawing, now I'm just bad (without "so" now).
I am a painter from China, deeply inspired by your paintings. Your brushstrokes are smooth and powerful, and your paintings are not only technically exquisite, but also full of creativity and imagination. They are truly stunning. "
Right as I had an emotional break down about my art this video popped up on my feed. Honestly I skipped the basics and went straight into anatomy and it’s only now I’m getting a lot of issues trying to go further into my art. I should have studied the basics. Watching this video brought me some clarity on what is going wrong with my art, and cheered me up immensely with the humor!
So I've been struggling with learning for ~two or three years now (aka nervously glancing at my tablet from across the room from time to time), and recently re-watched Mother's roadmap video with the intention of finally putting some work in. Well, thanks to that one, I learned what to do, but thanks to this I also FINALLY learned _how_ to do it. Seriously, this guy is single-handedly teaching me art from scratch. Bro deserves all of those likes and many, many more if you ask me.
I often remember that just watching Tutorials barely does anything for increasing your art skills and you should actually do stuff but i still am mostly lazy and just watch things. This however is great in a sense that it forces you to draw.

This is a wonderful tutorial but I feel like so many artists forget what it's like to be a beginner. I've been drawing for at least 4 years seriously, but I've been making art all my life. I am still what's considered a beginner. These techniques might work but no one emphasizes how you quite literally have to draw these simple shapes thousands of times to master it. Videos like this, while helpful, explain it for a few minutes and then move on, but in reality, artists should be doing this for hours, maybe even daily, just to see a little bit of improvement. I'm extremely frustrated with my current art and nothing I do ever works in my favor. My head is brimming with imagination and creativity and the fact that I can't express that crushes me. This isn't a hate comment, but a warning. This is *not* as easy and as quick as it looks. I wouldn't be surprised if I spent a year individually studying these steps and saw no improvement by the end. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong, but everything I do is just wrong. All wrong. Everything I do sucks in one way or another, not to mention that the only thing I can animate is circles I used a ruler to make.
honestly, if anyone say this shape are unrealistic the should look again, litter while your were talking about that it looked like you were drawing a loaf of bread. and going through the exercises made me really see how man different things you can end up drawing that derive from the same shape. .
I just came back to drawing after 3 years and now I'm starting again at level one because I have a bad habit of not making clear lines, wish me luck on my journey, and tysm for this amazing vid ❤
Hello. Thanks for making this video, really appreciated, I want to learn to draw and saw your roadmap video and I am now trying to follow your path. Thanks for the lessons in this video, and for creating this content for free. You are what we danes call a gutterman.
Currently on level 2 but went to the end of the video to see where to go to, love this video as a first time artist.
You’ve helped me too much for a cheap price of a few likes and a subscription. I thank you for this magnificent channel. 👍
What distinguishes Sir is that his videos are very motivational ❤
This is perfect, ive tried learning to draw before but other series ignore these self checks and go from simple geometry to faces.
Without this there was no way i could go from geometry to anything like anatomy or faces.
But now i think i might at least get geometry down now.
Also im level 1.
I’m on Lvl 1, been facing burnout between work and life since graduating college and I wanted to learn how to draw as it’s something I’ve always wanted to do but never had the discipline or time for it until now. I remember watching a lot of drawing videos as a kid and always wanted to buy a set of copic markers. Grateful and excited to try drawing out in a more consistent manner this upcoming year as an adult! Planning on getting your How to Draw like a Mangaka book as well :D
Naaah man i'm starting drawing with your videos as example to train myself and more time i see ur vids, and more i like drawing. All the points are so cool and well explained. I love the way you make your videos with passion and the bonus you use game music! Thank you and i hope my journey to know how to draw like a sir end well !!!............it will ! :)
I ma on level one and your videos are super entertaining and help a ton with my learning! Thank you DLAS.
