What a Superb tutorial. This is the ABSOLUTE best Pen tutorial I have ever watched. Super clear, thorough, and complete. It even includes the link for practicing using the Pen. On a scale of 1 to 10 this gets a score of 15 :) Thanks so much for taking all of the time to create such an excellent tutorial !
I have been using photoshop for more than 10 years and have avoided the pen tool. This was an outstanding tutorial. I can believe I hadn't tapped into the power of the pen tool. It would have saved me so much time in my workflow and added more a refined look to my artwork!!! Thank you!!!
I can’t even explain in words how I am thankful landing on this lesson. I am just a beginner on this and this video explains everything than the formal course I am taking ! Amazingly explains and motivates to open up the app immediately to start with pen tool! Thank you so very much 🙏🙏
Thank to Allah he created you and thanks to you who made this desperately needed tutorial on scary pen tool .finally learnt ,such a comprehensive explanation 🎉
The pen tool has baffled me for so many years! I've been following Unmesh for about a year and decided to see if there were any videos on the channel specifically about the pen tool. This is a fantastic video - as usual you take the mystery away and teach in bite size chunks - I can't thank you enough.
This tutorial is clear, instructive and helpful. I've read and watched a lot on the Pen tool and still struggled to figure it out. But your tutorial was exactly what I needed. I never usually bother to record RUclips authors, but I'll be coming back to you for help again, I'm sure.
That workflow suggestion of placing all the points and moving the lines and moving the lines later is genius. You just saved me a ton of time on the learning curve (no pun intended). Amazing. I had been struggling even after watching different videos. That one change changed everything. Thank you!
Thank you for putting this tutorial together. The pen tool has been doing my head in for quite a while and after watching this and a little practice I'm so much more proficient with it and I finally understand why people rave about its functionality so much.
College Photoshop class; was told to outline and select a complex scene, (a trainstation and a tower) using the pen tool. They never taught HOW to use the pen tool. I wish i could make vector images like esport logos, but i just cant get used to the pen tool. Less than 10mins in youve taught me more than that class. Using the pen tool even to outline simple shapes to me is like driving in reverse while going up a vertical wall using a joystick. I.. just.. cant... I still cant make a circle. Great video. And goodluck to everyone watching/learning!
Wow! such a detailed but to the point tutorial. One of the best educators I've ever experienced. Especially love the recap at the end to reinforce all the key learning points.
You have been so influential in my learning Photoshop and how the Pen Tool can make things so easy. You have kept me learning new things during this Pandemic when we're stuck in the house while we go through these hard times. Keep up the great work and the motivation.
The "$10 Thanks" *should* say "thank you both for being such an incredible teacher and for helping me understand this up until now completely baffling tool, which is now ROCKING my graphic world!

I was just coming to the comments to say exactly this same thing. I learned more about the pen tool than I have in a long time of using PS on the side. :)
I've watched so many tutorials where they gloss over a small piece of information, or don't explain something properly, or skip steps. This is not one of those videos. Excellent, the way you repeat and explain every step is brilliant and means the information actually sticks. Thanks!!
I've been a product photographer for a few years and have always dreaded trying to use the pen tool when making masks. I finally get it and this will save me so much time and headaches. Thank you!
Thank you for the simple explanation and easy to follow instructions. I'm a long time, though not frequent, user of photoshop and I need the occasional reminder of the basics. I think the last time I used photoshop was about 2 years ago, so, there've been a couple of versions since then and no lack of changes and improvements. My current challenge has been to convert a raster image to vector and then cleaning up the resulting vectors to join points and manage the handles accordingly. Your tutorial was spot on and then some! Again, thank you for sharing your knowledge....
Can I just say that after living with an ex graphic designer for three years and her repeated attempts to get me to use paths and explain why they are better, you've convinced me and taught me a great skill/technique that I would not have learned otherwise in my 47 years on this earth. You have my undying gratitude. Bless you and stay safe!
I have been working on Photoshop for the last 13 years. but after seeing your every video, I always feel that I'm new to this. But you are doing really great work which is helping lots of people/ students who are not able to pay the huge amount to a computer institute. Thanks a lot
Wow... I can't say enough how fantastic this video is. THANK YOU FOR REPEATING THINGS. I feel like that's the biggest issue newbies have when following tutorials of any kind. I have the memory of a goldfish so it's imperative that I'm reminded repetitively of the little things or I get lost very quickly into the video. It takes awhile for things to sink in, so I really appreciate the extra effort you've put in to truly TEACHING rather than just "showing". You've gained a new subscriber, and thanks again! 😊
This is very good! The only thing missing is, if you want to make two curves with a sharp point like the moon, you can alt click right on the node before the next curved line and you won’t have to deal with that handle at the sharp point. That may have made no sense because I’m not the best teacher ;)
Learned a couple of new shortcuts even though I've been doing Photoshop for 12 years. There are many great lessons available from the likes of Deke McClelland and others on the Lynda.com website. Your presentation is as good or better - and for me, more easily remembered than even those from the Photoshop legends. Congratulations to you and your team for putting together such a great tutorial.
