    When I'm teaching or learning something I'm always struck by how many want to just "show off" their knowledge and how few really teach/guide those who want to learn. You put these in a space where people can grab, relate and learn and that's the best compliment I can give a learning guide. Right on man, keep it going.

    • @mathesonjake
      @mathesonjake 2 года назад +5

      Right with you there. I agree 100% passion for teaching and not showing off here is what always brings me to PIXimperfect every time, even when I'm not looking to learn something new his love for sharing knowledge is compelling. ❤️

    Great tutorial. I found Divide blend mode very useful for toning my pictures. Lets say you have a black and white portrait. Create a gradient map layer which goes from light yellow (H = 60, S = 20, B = 100, R = 255, G = 255, B = 204) to pure white, set blend mode to Divide and reduce fill. I find the resulting hint of blue very pleasing to the eye. Open the histogram and see what this does to the blue channel by toggling blend layer on and off. Might want to add constrast a bit.

    basic tip: when doing the blury efect on Hard Light, change the blend mode before you add the filter, that way you can already see the nice bluring affect, and you dont have to guess. otherwise (and, moreover to be honest) use a smart filter so you can always change the settings

    my gosh, thank you … I've struggled for many years to understand "Blend Modes" in Photoshop (I'm not a Graphic Designer and I try to dabble in Photoshop to learn the application, then get frustrated as hell because I couldn't understand blend modes) … you easily made, what was complicated, much more understandable … you have a certain quality of caring about your Viewer(s) and it shows … your Photoshop acumen is substantial … again, thank you very much.

    "99.9% of the time you will not use the dissolve blend mode" lol. For me, it's tracking right now at 100% of the time. Haha.

    Hi! Divide mode is probably my most use blend at the moment. I use it to create Hi-key mono and pencil sketch effects. I must confess that I came across the process by accident and only came to your (this) video to find out why it works. I've shared the process with a few friends, who love it.

    The way you explain each bend mode is much easier to understand compared to others, especially multiplying of 0 and 1. Thank you so much for opening our minds about blend modes!
