Hey Chad, long time fan, first time poster. We're about the same age but half a globe apart. Some of my most memorable bikes include a 1250 GSA , 990 Superduke, 996 Ducati, 90SS Ducati, CBR600 racebike , TZ125 racebike, and a FZR400 track/road bike. With decades old memories of my FZR400 in my mind I've been really excited about the ZX4RR since its announcement. I think the 40th Anniversary colourway has pushed me to the point of breaking out my VISA.
Great review! Coming from a ninja 400 with a track day under my belt and looking to do quite a few this year. Would you upgrade to this or skip and go straight to zx6r. Ive heard the zx6r is a better value for the money, and there is a low power you could use on it anyway. Any thoughts? Probably be doing 3-4 track days a year for a while. Thanks!
The 400 is a blast, been was riding 2 yrs. I was riding behind group 1 (novice group, no passing in corners) at the track day and could tell my braking and corner exits were better than the group I was with. I just remember getting so frustrated almost passing someone to have them pass by me on a straight and start throwing off my lines again. I realize the zx4rr is probably enough speed, but if I plan on keeping the bike for a long time, would it make sense to do a couple seasons in low power mode on zx6r to work on riding skill and have ability to turn it up later?
Thanks for the input, it helps greatly! Trying to get one here in the next month before track days start up for me. How necessary do you think a steering dampener is for the zx6?
Hi Chad, I'm mid forties rider with 12 months riding experience looking to buy a sportsbike. I currently ride a Z900RS SE and I'm trying to decide between this and a ZX6R. Any views on which would be a better choice considering my limited experience and the current bike that I ride?
@@Chad76Media thanks for your reply. My plan is to keep the z900rs and I’d plan to try a track day or 2. Size wise, I’m 6ft, experience wise I’m very much still learning. I suppose a test ride when the zx4rr is available is probably best.
6”2 have zx4rr it’s small but really fun once you tune it. I probably will be selling mine soon. Tuned fender eliminator, DNA air filter and coffmans exhaust and quad lock so far.
It looked like you were having a ton of fun ! That 400 series's going to be great to watch and massive fun for the young riders 🙂👍
Can't wait!

Good list of bikes! I’ve ridden them all. I’ve got a 900s
Smooth lap... F#cked it 😂
Which bit?

How long have you been riding? Do you feel the 400 is slow or fun

I'm larger at 220 and athletic as well if that makes a difference. Rs660 could be an option as well, just like the 4 cylinder sound.
@@douglaswkittle74 yeah. I think give the Zx6 a try. Bikes only go as fast as the throttle. Take it easy and build up

Great vid!
Thanks man

It would be a big drop in torque to opt for the 4. Much smaller too. But also depends on your confidence, size, where and how you ride
