No you're just unlocking the ecu they detune these in the north American market they're heavy and cost to much for what they are. Any true enthusiast will pass this up. It costs nearly as much as a zx6r that has double the hp
@@ronburgundy4375 They are locked due to emissions standards. This is the ONLY way it can even come to market. It's priced high because of the R&D that has went into bringing it to the modern market. 95% of riders can even use the HP that the ZX6 has. Very very few can run around at 120MPH speeds all the time. The ones that do end up with big speeding tickets or end up dead. For a lot of people, the HP is secondary to the fun factor and this bike has that in volumes once unlocked. If you think you need a 120HP to have fun you are doing it wrong.
400cc is an ideal capacity for fun on the road and track. Modern 600s are too damn fast and bikes have been getting heavier for a while, so it's great to return back to the 80s/90s capacity range. Some of the most fun I ever had on the road were on my old NC24. All the fun of revving the crap out of it and slicing through corners without all the licence-shredding speed.
The stock bike will stop producing power at 11,500 rpm, and going into any higher revs will just increase the sound. That is until you get the ECU reflashed, and only then can you experience the full potential of this motorcycle.
I want to pick up one of these as my first bike and flash the ecu when I get used to the bike. I live in a big city and being able to do something like that instead of upgrading is huge!
I just got back from a ride on my ZX4RR and lemme tell ya, the tune (TST), a full exhaust, and high flow air filter realllllly wake the bike up. It's so fun and handles oh so well while not being unbearable to ride long distances. It's also got actual usable power for the street. Dont be worried to cruise around at a higher RPM cuz keep in mind, it's got a 16k redline and loves to rev!
oh yeh and to add to your comment about expecting it to throw you back more at 10k rpm - that'll be more apparent after the tune since that's where most of the power is gained on the tune.
Get one man. It's always good to get another discipline under your belt. It's got three less cylinders but the RC390 I got has really opened my eyes to a whole new world of what's out there. Ordered the Coffman's exhaust in all black by the way. Can't wait to throw it on.
Yea man those little KTM’s seem suuuper rad too! I’d love to get to try out an RC390 or Duke 390 soon. Definitely keep me posted on how you like the new exhaust once you get it thrown on! I still haven’t heard a Coffman’s I didn’t like 🙌🏻🤘🏻
Go coffman! I copped one as well, for 250 it was stupid not to. All others were 600 plus for same material. Dont fall into the name brand bs when it comes to pipes. Made my duke 10 times better!
First thing I said when I got off a ninja for the first time was "Well I guess I'm a sport bike guy now". I laughed out loud when you said basically the same thing on this 😆
I have got to say, your reviews are so on point! I love getting actual opinions that match what I'm seeing and not just generic regurgitated B------t. I don't know if it's just the heat in Mexico, but the acceleration is pretty disappointing. Yes, it looks like a lot of fun, but for the price, just get a used 600.
I just sat on one of these at a dealer, compared to my 6r it’s comfortable asf, the price seems a tad high for the lack of adjustability in the forks though.
You like small cc you should try the Yamaha mto3 or mto7 they have a better sitting position and torque down low and they weigh nothing and you can make them lighter try them out and it’s Yamaha that’s partner with Toyota so they are reliable
In every other country, the zx4rr comes with 75hp they de-tuned it for the North American markets. They're also charging too much for the money might as well get a zx6r. It's also a heavy pig at 414lbs
The little screamer crotch rockets are perfect little hooligan bikes for little people. The Concourse is as close to a Crotch Rocket as I can get or maybe a Busa. They're also perfect little track bikes.
Hey I am a subscriber been watching your videos on your Coffman exhaust install I have to say I was blown away when I heard it on the kawasaki I want your thoughts I have a 2023 Honda NC750X DCT been racking my brains on which exhaust to buy. What are your thoughts on coffmans for my NC750X
Hi, 1. Can we have this the only bike as a daily commuter bike in country like India with high traffic 2. How is low end torque ? Possible to ride at 50-60kmph at 6th gear ?
This might sound a little crazy but the ZX4rr should be the new beginner bike! You can even find them for way cheaper now, got mine for $8 thousand out the door. Forget them bullshit 2 cylinders bikes, unless that's what you like or the most you can afford.
I hate coffmans. Had them on my zx14r when I bought it from the dealer. Couldn’t snatch them off fast enough. Put on delkevic 9” ovals with the db killers removed. Soooooo much better. Sold the coffmans, swingarm extensions, long chain and long brake line for $300 just to get them out of my sight.
@@LifeOfBurch I never had more fun than when I had my Honda CB650R. Inline 4, 650cc and a 14k redline. It also terrified me haha, I redlined 3rd gear going 98mph... in Mexico of course..
It definitely sounds amazing but... that price tag is STEEP! In the same price rage you can get a 650 from the same brand or you could get something like a Rebel 500 and have cash left over for customization. Idk man... time will tell.
They restrict the hell out of these new bikes. All of them. It’s terrible. It can easily cost you 3k to uncork your bike and get a proper dyno tune. They got them running so lean that they get so hot they won’t last as long as say a bike that’s a tick rich
