Scammers are everywhere trying to make money from vulnerable people. It is my job to expose these scammers to make sure no one else falls for their tricks.
The most common scam there is would have to be the Windows Alert Scam also known as Microsoft Virus Alert Scam, this scam works by creating an official looking Windows Popup Warning your computer has been infected.
The victim will then phone the number and most likely be connected with a Indian scammer as India has a lot of these Technical support scammers based within their country, it is the Microsoft scammers job to trick the victim into believing they are on the phone to Microsoft or a legitimate technical support company.
Once the victim trusts the scammer they will be asked for remote access to their computer, this is where the tech scammer will connect to their computer and try to show them FAKE viruses to scare the victim. Now the victim believes the scammer about the fake Microsoft popup they may pay to have the viruses removed and will end up losing their life savings!
The Fake technical support scam is very common and very scummy as it is commonly setup on a large scale by a KingPin, this Kingpin will hire people and may not tell them they are scamming, therefore some Microsoft support scammer believe they are actually legitimate technical support and may not even know they are scamming themselves.
It is the Job of the scambaiter to scam bait the scammers into exposing themselves by pretending they are a victim, this makes the scammer show the scam baiter how he tricks real victims into thinking
they have a virus, this will the be used by the scambaiter to expose how the scam works by uploading it to RUclips for everyone to see.
The more people who watch the more people who are aware and the less people who get scammed.
This is called scambaiting or antiscamming.

I had these bastards call me on my phone and they had too much of my info, don't know how they got it. They told they had to fix my computer and told me about some viruses I received, once I caught on and told them I don't trust this, they got mad and told me that I was going to be on a lot of trouble for not allowing them to clear these problems. I told them I didnt give a damn, hung up and went to Gleek Squad and had them clean my laptop. I did this because they were actually putting false viruses on my computer. Once I had the Geek Squad clean my laptop, I never had a problem again.
@its Sable Hey buddy just because there are scammers in India doesn't mean every tech support based in the country is scam..why do you think she has her legal name up on the LMI, and FYI you are given every right to disconnect the session whenever you wish, she does asked every permission before running any scan , you just messed with the right guy,interfering with scammers is a different story, and again she never asked for your card details she wants you to fill it up on your computer itself,, you see that the specialist does tell you that you don't have no issues,you're an asshole..go get a life..

Beware this scam is common my parents fell for it and almost fell for it again. Beware if you have elderly parents that don’t know how technology works.
My mom was about to call a phone number on her screen once saying she had a virus. Luckily she called me first and I told her not to.

The elderly are common targets of all kind of scams. They prey on the elderly, because many are not savvy in computer techniques or any of the ways that scammers use, such as credit card interest rate reduction, IRS scamming, all repair scamming, car business scamming. There are scams in EVERYTHING today and it's getting worse all the time. The best thing to do is NOT to do business with ANYONE unless YOU are the one who initiates the business. Do NOT fall for ANY e-mail initiated action or any telephone cold-calls or even anyone who knocks on your door offering to repair or "check out" any system or appliance you have, vents, etc. Forget it, hang up or terminate the connection immediately. NEVER let anyone into your house or on your property, unfortunately, you must be VERY wary today with anyone you do not know personally!

This is the closest to a legit answer I have seen on videos like this. In India, people are first tricked into working for these scam companies, and they are given a certain quote that they "owe" for expenses. They have to work off that money. They are put in positions that they see no way out of, and it's easy just to say "why don't they just go out and get another job?"

I am an ex-employee of Microsoft. I was a Techincal Support Engineer. The Service Center emailed us a complaint ID along with customers details. Called them and after permission granted, I used to work on their computer. In Microsoft we are not allowed to open even notepad. We have a scratch pad to write things down but it cannot be saved. Use of Notepad, excel, Ms word, etc is strictly prohibited. PII violation is a serious issue so we are aware of it. These scammers open all those prohibited programs and even use third party software to run a scan? Micrsoft only acknowledge internet explorer and bing search not google search engine. And for a fix it program, we have a microsoft site where we can get all fix it programs.

She’s the most legitimate sounding scammer I’ve heard up to yet she didn’t use an English name like some do. We don’t use $$ in U.K.
Like some do? This is the only one of thousands I've heard not called Vilson, or Villiam or Brown or some other generic English name with a thick Indian accent.
I was scammed by someone with this accent. They stole $5000 from my savings for surgery (cancer). They deserve punishment and we need justice for these scams. They target vulnerable and elderly folk who are struggling already. They are despicable. 10 Commandments (Deuteronomy 5) says "Thou shalt not steal." They must pay the price now.

That's the problem. America outsources customer support to third parties. They are foreigners who have access to your info. People are used to hearing a foreigner on the other line when you call customer support or call to make a payment on a bill.
Im actually filipina living in Philippines and i worked in a call center comapny with telco account which is AT&T yes we process your payment but were not allowed to keep or write down your card information. on our offices as well when you entered we are not allowed to have our cellphone or any papers with us during our work hours every company with telco account like sprint, verizon, at&t and etc. are very strict. We are strictly monitored so you dont need to worry. 😊 Anyway im not sure if the person that you talked to is from the Philippines but if its from the Philippines you are 100% safe 😊💕

I liked the way you had patience with the scam caller and had the time to even interrogate her. A scammer once called me from India. I answered the call and said ” Welcome to Stock... Police Headquarters, CPU ( Crime Prevention Unit). How can I help you. The next thing I heard was sorry I dialled a wrong number. He said it hurriedly as if he was in a hurry to catch a flight / so as not to miss the last flight.🤣

I remember years ago I handled this type of indian scammer when they phoned my employers number.
Apparently the technical assistance company was based in UK. Everyone in the background sounded Indian. Asked where he was from, he told me be was born in Manchester and his name was Walter while trying to put on a dodgy posh English accent. I replied "next you'll tell me you wear a bowler hat and use a cup and saucer when drinking tea". After a little play not involving the computer he ended the call.

This happened to my Mother in law and she paid them , we was able to recover the money by contacting her bank and explaining that she had been scammed ( luckily ) , it’s disgusting and more should be done to stop it !
