So I decided to look into this a bit further and it turns out these calls are a part of a massive, international scam called "Wangiri" which is a Japanese word that means "one cut". The companies rely on people calling the numbers back to see what's going on in order to make money. This is basically a mobile premium scam and what happens is somebody calls you, lets the phone ring once and they do it multiple times and what they want you to do is call them back," the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's (ACCC) Delia Rickard told Hack. The only problem is its international. The fibbies get complaints and just round file them.

Fr I have tell my teen kids every other day don’t give any information if they get any calls ask for shit..
They have no jurisdiction in another country. These calls are coming from over seas.
I watch a lot of scambaiters videos, such as Scammers Payback and Jim Browning. I know your video is an old video but the lesson you taught still benefits today. The way you handle that call was excellent, especially when then Indian scammers are following the script. Excellent video
"I have eight children."
I love this woman so much.
Yea. Me too
Me too.
She’s the cool aunt that you only get to see on the important holidays and family reunions if you’re lucky
The fact that you did this without laughing. I CANT!
No kidding, I was dying! How do they manage to scam people?!? It's so ridiculous.
They scare old people and mentally challenged people into giving them credit card information
I love your unique way of handling the scammer. Much more mature than most scambaiters
@@notprovided1131 I agree. Many channels try to turn this into some spectacle and then believe they are 'helping' people who may fall for it. But this woman just calmly uses logic. Asks the right questions And lets them fumble on their own. They're not equipped to stray from the script.
@@pjemje they are also helping people..might be a bit immature but a different approach. Anyway, these scammers deserve all the frustration they get from scambaiters

Srael V Srael V don’t call them back if you see a number from a different country. That’s what they want and you’ll get charged a lot of money 😳😠 My husband keeps getting calls from all different places like Belarus, Papua New Guinea, etc. He looked it up and this is what we found:
“ I found out people I knew were getting calls from the most obscure places like Slovenia, the Congo, and Belgium.
If you call them back the call will be charged at a very high rate and a large percentage of that cost will be transferred to them so they'll get the money."

True, they're the ones that sorry the most :/ but sometimes they get lucky.
Frank DeFalco I’ve heard that people who really work for the IRS will never call the people who owe money. They will either come to their house or send them a letter.
My Uncle got caught after he lost his son in tragic boating accident..then my Aunty..his wife died a month later. He had two estates to handle of which he had never done before so got caught off guard by threats. 83 and had many calls back and forth about the estates..really distressing. His nieces and nephews (me included) don't live in his town.
