@Android Addicts how can I order the snapdragon version of s22 ultra? I’m from Europe, but i don’t know if the exynos version would be better than SD version…everywhere the tests shows that SD version is above Exynos 2200…
You mentioned being surprised that the exynos lasted longer. This is inline with other tests. What happens is the exynos governer actually throttles much earlier in extended gpu stress testing. This results in better battery at the cost of performance. If you want to test this clearly, open a game like genshin impact and compare the performance and battery with the sd 888 after 30 mins (as in actually play the game itself)
It is! I have the Exynos variant of the Galaxy S21+ and let me tell you, it is using too much battery and gets warm to the touch on the simplest tasks like watching videos or Web browsing for long periods of time, up to 40 degrees Celsius! According to Accubattery, my phone was using an average of 7 Watts of power and above per hour which is too much for a few minutes of simple tasks. And lastly, when I checked the battery stats in settings, I added up all the amount of percentages used by all the apps I use, and it most of the time adds up to 50%. What happened to the other 50%!? What was the excess power used for? It has overall led to almost lower than average battery life for me, my phone always dies after just 4 hours of screen on time at most and less than 3 hours and 30 minutes at least. It is not a battery problem I can confirm, because other users with the Exynos 2100 variant were plagued by the battery drain issue too, I'm not alone. This video should be an exception for not everybody will be plagued by the same problem. So I'd still recommend you all go for the Snapdragon variant of each generation. Thus, my phone has a 4800 mah battery, its supposed to last longer than a day, which was the case in the beginning. Samsung has yet to fix this issue.
@@nicholas4975 I confirm what you are saying. I bought a S21 Exynos version and everything you said is true. My hand is uncomfortable because of the phone temperature while using the simplest tasks like social media apps and browsing. The phone gets extremely HOT while Whatsapp Call that it can burn your ear although being inside the house at lower that 30 degrees Celsius environment!!! Battery drains 5% in every 14 minutes 120 Hz on browsing and opening social media apps only! There was a reply on Samsung forum stated that after doing Hard Reset, the overheating issue disappeared. I will try that and update this reply. Also, now I am trying a full cycle of the battery to see if it's the problem.

After Seeing this i think exynos 2200 will be way efficient in cpu compared to snapdragon 8 gen 1 if it's 2.8 ghz then yah it could beat snapdragon by 1 hour and more probably 2 hours or something like that... exynos 2100 is better than snapdragon even with it's 2.9 vs snapdragon's 888 2.8 ghz that's probably because of samsung's optimization cuz it's their soc... now sd 8 gen is 3.0 ghz vs ex 2200 at 2.8 ghz... so in principle exynos could really be better in battery life cpu wise but gpu might be a different story cuz adreno 730 seems to be very efficient more than exynos's... will wait and see

Great video! Could you elaborate a bit more about the Snapdragon battery use? You mentioned the phone was essentially just "sitting waiting for updates": at what battery level did you leave the phone? Was it always fully charged? I ask this because having a Li-Ion battery sitting at full 100% charge all of the time is very damaging for it in the long term. Some studies seem to indicate having a battery sitting fully charged is actually worse than using and cycling the battery (given that, once you start using the battery, the average charge levels will be lower). Samsung has also included a protection feature that limits the charge to 85% which is VERY helpful and I'm not sure why almost no one uses it. Either way, this would make a very interesting subject over battery degradation.
Hi there, the phone sits on my desk where I can see it most the time and I let it get to around 20% before charging it to 100% and then leaving it again in that sort of cycle. I agree the limit charge option is a good idea if you plan to keep the phone more than a couple of years, I'm constantly upgrading mine so it isn't worth it for me. For my laptop though I do set the charge limit to 80%.

Both degraded with SoT over the year and by much more than you should expect. I have def found that as an issue with Samsung devices compared to say Huawei. Not surprised the Exynos did well as after the OneUI 4.0 update my S20U (Exynos) finally started getting over 4hrs SoT! Two years for Samsung to sort out the battery drain on 5G and standby! From what I have seen from the S22U so far, battery life is average at best, so maybe another year where Samsung will need to update to improve that? Thanks!

@@AndroidAddicts
for me battery is everything plus exynos is not bad at all.
Did you use Accubattery to measure the estimate battery capacity after one year? But interesting results
I haven't done no but will install it and see what it says 👍
@@AndroidAddicts it'll take one month of consistent charge cycles to get a good estimate. Do it this year around with the S22 series please and for the S21's you can just pin a comment with the result of Accubattery's measurement after one month or even more.
Appreciate it!
Great idea, I'll do that thanks 👍
Exynos 2100 was better overall than sd888
@Miracle Gabriel yes why you asked
Heating kisme jyada hoti hai exynous or snapdragon
would you be doing this for the s21 fe too? exynos vs snapdragon plus the thermal test?
Sadly not the FE as I can't afford to buy any more phones 😅
@@AndroidAddicts oh, okay much respect for the honesty! 😂 what's your personal opinion though? do you think it's the same results in the video?
If you can afford the FE it's basically a better/more refined version of the S21 so go for it. It might be worth comparing it to the S22 though and see whether the new chipsets and cameras take your fancy...
@@AndroidAddicts The S22 is a bit too small for me and the S22+ is too expensive for me 😂 been having a hard time deciding which S21 FE version to get so I might wait a bit more, maybe S22 FE will come out soon. Thank you again!
Did the max fps change on the exynos with high graphics or still 40?
When I last checked it was still 40 sadly
So it seems unhealthy for the battery to keep it unsued for so long. there is no reason for the snap to reduce performance so much
Possibly. It was turned on most the time and just charged every week or so it wasn't 'not used' in that sense.
@@AndroidAddicts Did you keep it fully charged or around 50%? Fully charged or discharged ,for extended period of time, are both bad.
It was charged when it was almost dead to 100% - same as with the Exynos although the Exynos would have had more charging cycles as I was using it as my main phone.
@@AndroidAddicts
What temperature was the Snapdragon variant stored in?
Same temp as the Exynos. My house is normally around 19C. I currently work from home so haven't really gone out during the pandemic
Can you make a new video about this phones? I'd like to see.
@Android Addicts how can I order the snapdragon version of s22 ultra? I’m from Europe, but i don’t know if the exynos version would be better than SD version…everywhere the tests shows that SD version is above Exynos 2200…
I've ordered mine from www.wondamobile.com
We won't know if the SD is better until after I've tested so I'm hoping mine will arrive soon 👍
@@AndroidAddicts thanks mate, 100% SD it’s much better overall. About ur experience wondamobile its a safe mobile shop?
P.s. when will arrive ur SD s22 ultra?
I used them when I got my SD S21 and had no problems. Looks like delivery will be between 7th - 14th March
@@AndroidAddicts thank you for your answer, you really help me a a lot. One more question: this version of samsung its a chinese version?
@@adriano2828 No this is the European version
This is almost the same for s21 FE exynos vs 888?
Yeah pretty much!
Exynos or Snapdragon
For gaming, camera?
if you paly games, Snapdragon . IF not, exynos is usually cheaper and good enough
But how sd 888 battery drains quickly.
It gets quite hot but also it's more powerful so uses more energy
Surprised
Likewise!
Samsung's Exynos version is more optimized for battery life
My s21 ultra update is from July.now the last update that come to my phone is from November.if I don't update my phone to November update the February update will come to my phone?because its about 3 month that my phone haven't any new update do u think is there any problem?tnx🙏
Is your phone locked to your carrier? - if so you're probably relying on the carrier to produce the updates which can take a long time with some sadly
Any tips for that kind of SOT?
Yes - run PUBG for 1 hour, then TikTok, then CODM....joking of course. This isn't really a realistic 'day's use' for most people I wouldn't have thought so it really just depends on what apps you use on a daily basis.
Thx !
No problem!
How about a test between the s21fe and the s22
How you tested temperature?
It's called Thermal Monitor and you can get it from the Play Store here: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rollerbush.thermal&gl=US
Both degraded with SoT over the year and by much more than you should expect.
Thanks!
Yeah I agree OneUI 4 has definitely improved things overall I'd say although it's still early days.
Battery drain on 5G will probably always be quite high until we get some batter high capacity graphene batteries in phones I'd guess.
Thanks for watching!
Well it's also important to know ro how long you used each of these phones... I mean one could have a better battery health...
Both phones on 24/7 pretty much since launch. Exynos was my daily phone so I'd have thought it would have performed worse overall.
Are they ultra or regular version ?
Just the regular
man I have s21 ultra(exynos 2100) and in 1 Br match it gets to 43 or 44 c. wtf !
Are you running at a higher display resolution and also graphics settings? Also, the Ultra has a bigger screen than the S21 so it has the potential to heat up more depending on brightness etc.
Well well well
Any idea about stand by times ?
I did some standby tests in my previous video here which will give you an idea: ruclips.net/video/JHvjwZlrIp8/видео.html
Mine is a brand New with exinos but It doesnt Last mutch like your not even close
Give it a few weeks of usenand the battery life should improve 👍
in real life my exynos goes to 3....4hrs...max
does it heat up alot while playing games and just by browsing youtube/facebook?
wow
😱😱😱😱😱😱
قاعك الاكحل
This video is a scam
Do say why
Which do you recommend for purchase, the s21 plus with Snapdragon or with exynos? And prq?
