I am a Samsung fan boy. I went from the s8 using it for 3 years and upgraded to the s20 fe. Great new phone that I have. Also for Christmas my wife brought me the samsung beans. Brought great products. Dave u make wonderful videos. Keep it coming
I'm also using the S20FE 5G and I'm really loving the performance especially the cameras. Totally worth it.

Camera samples look great. I think they look even better when Scene Optimiser is turned off. Saturation and contrast is turned down a bit then.
Last time I was this early, the Samsung Galaxy S line still had expandable storage 🤣 🤣 🤣

The 5G will work in USA and in China but make sure you get the unlocked version from My World Phone
Great review man! Always love the way you test the camera's in real life. It makes more sense to a lot of consumers. But... the camera on the S21 is way better than the S20. Definitely noticable in Night Mode. More contrast there. Because of a few reviews, including yours, I just purchased the S21 and I'll be receiving it tomorrow. I live in The Netherlands, so it'll have the Exynos chip, but I've read and seen some good reviews about it, so I'll hope for the best. It'll definitely be a great upgrade from my S9, which has a TERRIBLE battery life! 😅
Thanks very much for this review. It definitely made making my decision a lot more easy. Been doubting a lot between the Pixel5 and this phone, but the Pixel5 made too much cuts to make it the 'perfect phone'. Almost perfect, but I feel this S21 suits me most;

Better software experience than earlier Samsung devices

Hello, Matt! Can you tell me if the s21's battery is good? I mean, the only point that makes me not buy it is its battery, I saw some people saying it's not good and they'd only made lika 6h of screen time. After a year using it, what can you tell me about it?

A reminder: The telephoto lens isn't 3X optical; it's actually 1.06X optical, then cropped to 3X, hence the "hybrid zoom". My guess as to why they've chosen this setup is so that you can film 8K (which requires at least a 33MP sensor) without punching in all the way to 3X. The high pixel count is then used for cleaner digital zoom. Using the 64MP sensor for 8K allows them to keep the main sensor at the standard 12MP, meaning larger pixels for better normal photos.
Edit: you also mislabelled the 8K shots as being taken with the main sensor.
Edit 2: Also, the S21 and S21+ display's adaptive setting switches between 48 and 120Hz, not 10 and 120Hz.

Great test, as always. To improve this series, it might be good to upload the test photos you took, so we can see them and further compare in full resolution. I am curious if more people would like this too.

@@warlorddk2070 In the US, Samsung phones have been equipped with Snapdragon SOC's . But in Europe (and a lot of other parts in the world) you will get it with Samsung's own Exynos chip. As somebody who has had the S8 up to the S20 because of his job. And i`m using phones with Snapdragon personally. The diff is HUGE. On the S10 it was still good. But esp the S20 was a real step down noticeably in performance, but also battery life. My work S20 always needed a mid-day top-up, the S10 before it which also had Exynos didn't.

I have the ultra. It's so damn big and heavy
3x isn't optical, it's "hybrid". The telephoto lens is actually 1.1x and cropping from 64mp and AI get the 3x

The big change on the s21 over the s20 is no more expandable memory, hence the cheaper price! Also they remove the charging brick makes the differance as well!

Really liked the format! Took that ferry on a 25th of January when it was raining and never felt so cold! Took a very similar route Lower Manhattan-financial district, China town and also little Italy and loved it!
Coffee ✅.....I Love that part. I just got my Phantom Gray S21 coming from the S20 Ultra. I wanted a smaller device. This S21 definitely fits the ticket. Because of the design and smaller size, and better cameras, I think it's better than the S20 Ultra. Just me. Good video as always.

I got the s21 for the camera but due to the virus i've not actually had a reason to use it all that much. thanks for reminding me why I chose this one. and I love New York, hope to get back over someday (stuck in th butt end of the uk lol)

4.5hr SOT with mixed usage on data, which I assume is mostly used up by picture/video capture. Had it been more browsing and media consumption, safe to assume much higher SOT?

Stick with the pre-order. S21 has better finger print scanner, newer Snapdragon, newer and better ISP for camera, the front facing camera is terrible on S20 FE.

Just ordered the S21 today. I've never had a good phone, ever! I have always been subjected to buying a potato from the local Dollar general, usually as cheap as possible. So to me, anything above a potato is a Cadillac. What I love about the phone is the camera(s) and the resolution, I take lots of pics/vids. My current potato is a pre paid spud, that I hardly use, LG Zone 4 - Verizon. I pay $45 for 15G + unlimited t/t a month and only use 0.05G of data ( not that anyone cares lol ). My point is I'd choose Samsung over Apple any day, heard too many bad tales about Apple products. Just "MY" preference. Thanks for taking pics where you did, I usually see the areas on earth cam live, and enjoy watching people do their blogs at times square and some of the funny things they do just to entertain "US".

My phone contract is up for grabs next months, I am still completely undecided, I don’t want to pay through the nose no top end phones are out but I was decent specs.
I’m also only 5ft 4 so not wanting a huge phone
I use a HUAWEI watch GT2 and Galaxy buds 2 so I’m thinking this might well be a logical choice as both would sync nicely
