      The problem is when he started the video, he had only 1 monitor. After pluggin the second monitor and updated drivers at 2:34, you have 2 monitors working and you get the left side (monitor #1) and right side (monitor #2) speakers.. Now he sound like he's center. Wait till he gets #3 and #4 on, then it's srs surround sound.

    Hi there loved the video and learned so much. Just one question my laptop that is about three years old has only one hdmi output and 3 usb ports. If I wanted to extend to two further monitors could I use the hdmi output on my laptop for one and a use an hdmi output in conjunction with the adaptor for the second additional monitor? Any info would be great. My laptop is an HP Many thanks.

    • @Betzareoff
      @Betzareoff  3 года назад +2

      Hi. Thank you for watching. Yes, you can use the HDMI output/port for one. I’m unclear on how you plan to attach the second but I’ll give a general Windows OS port identification. The challenge with HDMI & VGA ports is that Windows only sees one port (in your case one HDMI) and only sends one signal and manages one signal out of that port. So, if you were to use HDMI signal splitters, you'll only see one signal on all the monitors that you attach to your one HDMI port. Now, for your incremental upgrade, you only have to add one of the adapters reviewed (any adapter with Displaylink chip) to make use of your second monitor by attaching via USB. The USB advantage is, Windows can support 127 devices. Theoretically, you can attach that many USB hubs plus USB to VGA/DVI/HDMI adapter combo to send/receive signals and mange output to. Let me know if this helped.

    • @Betzareoff
      @Betzareoff  5 лет назад

      Hi Zahid. That depends on the type of adapter that you have/plan on buying. The one I reviewed had a USB to active DVI and uses passive HDMI adapter to connect HDMI cables. If you buy an active USB to HDMI, you can connect direct to HDMI cables. Now, if you have an HDMI port on your computer 1:31, you can plug directly to your computer and follow the rest of the instructions to set up your display.

    I connected the laptop to the splitters input using hdmi cable, then connect the 2 monitors to each splitters output. Then I set the settings to 'extend'.

      @@Betzareoff Hello. First thank you for responding to the question. I had the same. Also what is the purpose of a passive connection ever? • @Betzareoff

      The passive connectors only have signal pass through without signal amplification and relies on the computer graphic/video processor. I had used a passive Mini Display port to a VGA HDMI DVI combo that was only capable of duplicating the desktop when I connected two monitors. If you're only passing through signal to one monitor, no problem. These passive adapters are actually included with the USB adapter I reviewed. At least these guys are generous enough to include the passive adapters instead of selling you three separate units. Hello, I have a problem where im using a docking station for dell with a dell laptop.
    im trying to connect 3 displays and use the laptop screen as well but so far it will only let me use 3 displays. either three monitors and laptop screen is blank, or laptop screen and two monitors. any idea what the problem may be?

    • @Betzareoff
      @Betzareoff  2 года назад

      Dell products are strange like that. Try this, when all three monitors are on, select the laptop screen (if it shows that you have four displays), follow steps at 5:42 to select your laptop screen, from the drop down menu in the MULTIPLE DISPLAYS section where you can select to extend...etc, see if "disconnect this monitor" is selected for your laptop screen. If so change to extend to this monitor. If this does not work try when only two displays and the laptop screen are working and perform the steps. If If neither steps solve your problem, it might be Dell's docking station programming limitation.
