+Alberto Foranes Yes, will work with that ASUS laptop and ASUS MX299Q monitors www.asus.com/us/Monitors_Projectors/MX299Q/ -- BUT that monitor's native resolution is 2560 x 1080 (DisplayPort), so you'll need to get one of our UGA-4KDP adapter plugable.com/products/uga-4kdp for each monitor you want to drive. And a USB hub like plugable.com/products/usb3-hub7-81x like the video. Thanks for asking!
Hello, i have a question. I got a laptop with HD4000 graphics and Geforce GTX675mx. Now my problem is that i want my native build in screen, and two additional screens connected to this laptop, and since my laptop has both DVI and HDMI output, i just connected one screen to each of the outputs, but i can't seem to get all 3 screens running at the same time. My question is, what would i need in hardware/software, to get all these 3 screens running simultaneously? Any help is much appreciated :)
I can’t see my 3 screens simultaneously. This is my set up. Windows 7 64 bit Lenovo Thinkpad E530 I7 1 monitor attached via HDMI The other monitor attached via VGA port. When I go to graphic options I only get the choice of the built in or monitor 1 or monitor 2 Any ideas please Cheers and thanks in advance
James Lothian That's correct, for a desktop this scenario may not make much sense financially. Though, some computers do not have PCI-E expansion (like the laptop in this video or a small form factor desktop) so adding a dedicated video card is not an option!
What Processor do you use? And is there only the CPU in the Laptop with the integrated GPU or is there even a second GPU from NVIDIA or something like that?
BrotArtz Only the normal integrated GPU -- in fact, Intel is best because of the UMA architecture sharing memory between GPU and PC. This video was showing an older generation Core i3. We have customers using the full range from Atoms on up.
Absolutely true. Take Intel Graphics VS Nvidia found in a Dell Latitude e6530 There's three or four ports to plug in video, but if your using Intel Video the most you can actually use is I think 3 with or without a dock. With Nvidia you can hook up to 6 using the dock, but not everyone has these deep pockets for hardware upfront. The USB solution presented here could fix that problem and offer expansion as you need.

Hi...I'm thinking of purchasing ur setup for 3 monitors. Current scenario is: Laptop has 1hdmi port currently connected to monitor using dvi adapter. I have another 2more monitors that I need to connect. Laptop has 3 more usb ports. What sort of cables and accessories do I need to make this work? Btw, the other 2 monitors I have has hdmi ports as well (asus vx228h) at the back of monitor. Waiting for ur reply and all parts to be sent to Sydney Australia. Thanks

Just finished config of my 3 monitor setup powered by an MSI i7 laptop on a sit-stand riser ARM that will let me take it so monitor top is 70" - perfect for my 6'3" frame. Next step is giving a 5 star review on Amazon. With 4 back surgeries, 15 pieces of titanium this setup will allow me to function at least an hour or two more per day (when some days were only 30 mins sitting down.) For those interested (I don't have interest in this company) checkout www.ErgoPrise.com for great riser arms at very good pricing. Much better than the Veridesks which don't go high enough for anyone over 6'1".
I'll be doing a video of it soon for the company that supplied it. When I do, I'll be sure to give you a shout-out and tag you here with notice. Probably 2-3 weeks out.
Yes, definitely - the hardware shown in the video and description is the way to get around it, by attaching the additional monitors via USB. One caution for Mads' system is the hybrid Intel/nVidia graphics. It's usually OK, but can cause bad driver mixes. Avoid hybrid (switching between two GPUs for high/low power) if you're buying a new system, if you can.
This is a doable setup and we have newer devices now that can still perform like this. If you have any questions, please let us know at Support@Plugable.com
Video out through USB is cool but on a desktop its cheaper to buy a good amd GPU (Example R270x from MSI ) with 2 or 4gb ram and use eye infinity for up to 4 monitors, some higher end cards provide support for 6 displays.
It's easy to keep track of us. Front page of plugable.com/ has the latest news. plugable.com/feed/ for an RSS feed. And just click on our name above to get to subscribe button for videos. Thanks for asking!
Awesome! This helps in enhancing productivity. I like it. Does the USB hub comes with all necessary adapters for the multi monitor setup? I am planning to buy monitors which supports DVI-D & VGA Connectivity. Do I need to purchase additional cables? Is it necessary to have USB ports on Monitor?
i don't need 6+, i need 1 more, how do i do that, nothing in this video shows how you did it, except the 7 ports usb hub. and i also want to add a standalone laptop monitor, without an external power source. ?
I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 with a docking station that is equipped with USB3 and mini display ports. I have hooked up one external monitor to the Mini with an adaptor to VGA. Can I hook up additional monitors using the USB3 ports on the docking station and a VGA or DVI adaptor at the monitors?
I've watched this video countless times already. Now I'm adult and I've decided right here and now to start saving up my money for a 4k systems using this video as my guide.
In Theory with two GPU's (say RTX 3070) you could have 8 Displays on just those two GPU's, then with like 4 of these you could have an extra like 24 Displays. With a decent CPU and GPU, I think that could actually be very useful in shops and stores that need a LOT of displays from one source (such as a McDonalds where they have loads of displays showing the same thing). Even though this product is going 10 years old, I still think it is very useful now, wish I'd have known about this a few years ago when my team used to have up to 8 screens doing work but we did it via three PC's.
good video, can someone assist me, i have a Blackberry Key2, BB100-4 , black/broken screen. trying to access it, i can boot into fastboot . and send fastboot commands how can i access display? I got hdmi USB C adapter from amazon (B097NZDN1M) no picture on TV. i dont think USB is enabled. is there a way to boot into ADB mode and use VYSOR? or some other software with this model? i tried vysor/drfone to no avail it only dect it as blackberry. I cant even access it as a USB as i have to put into PTP mode but not possbile with broken screen.
The GPU does all the 2D/3D rendering to off-screen GPU memory. Then the driver finds the pixels that have changed, compresses them and sends over USB to the USB device. The USB device has a frame buffer (an image of the whole screen) out of which its hardware refreshes the monitor. So when no pixels are changing, no GPU or CPU work is happening. Thanks for asking!
WOW!!! :-O - Now, this IS cool! :D ... I didn't know you can use USB to output video. I'm sure it has it's limitations with frame-rate, so it's not useful for video games, but for regular multi-displays it is a VERY interesting solution, indeed! Congrats! Good job! - My laptop has 3 video display outputs so that's enough for me, but still, just for the heck of it, I may buy one of your units just to test it out. :-)
Hi i'm using a HP gaming pc with windows 8.1 with Proc Inter(R) Core(TM) i5-3317U CPU @ 1.70GHz (RAM) 8,00 GB 64-Bit. i'm using a 32 tv (HDMi) and and got a offer from a friend 2 VGA monitor for a cheap price and i want to have the 2 monitors for like using chat stuff on the 1 moni and something random at second using VGA to USB cable(don't have a VGA on my Laptop so have to use a VGA to USB cable) to connect to the laptop. Does it work? in Store they say i need 2 grapic card's to do that while i see on youtube that people do it with 3-6 monitors with laptops that have lower grapic card's and older then mine. Dream is Tv playing game's monitor 1 the chat/stuff and monitor 2 random/map, stream or let friend use it. Somebody answer and have a good day :)
Any Intel, nVidia, or ATI graphics card that supports Windows Aero will work. Better to avoid Hybrid graphics systems. Intel GPUs do better than you'd think, because they're already storing pixels in main memory, which makes transfer to USB quicker. GPUs from the more minor vendors are not safe -- often driver issues (Matrox, S3, Imagination Technology GPU in some Atom chipsets, etc). Stick with Intel or nVidia or AMD/ATI.
Windows only allows a single audio output device at a time. So if all the monitors have speakers, you'd be opening the Windows "Sound" control panel and picking one monitor or speaker to have all sound go out of. Note that only our HDMI native adapter carries audio -- DVI and VGA cannot. Thanks!
Wouldn't it be better just to connect your computer to a TV? Like, we could just go simple than advanced. And I also think a TV would consume less power because it's using only one power cord and processor.
I use 4 monitors, one via HDMI, one via VGA, and two plugged to USB 3.0 with VGA adaptors. I bought USB to HDMI adaptor, but I couldn't get it running, not sure why. Maybe it was just a bad adaptor.
That is sHoCkiNgLy amazing... Just playing (1) video would be enough proof of concept for me :) I never would have believed it to be true. And that was ~5 Yrs ago. Good work!
I have just bought the JCD543 doc and I got the separate programs to 2 monitors but the 3rd will will not operate the PPT presentation. When I hit on lap top to run the slide show it jumps over on top of monitor 2 and runs it there instead of to the #3 monitor where i have it set. Lenovo windows 10
Quality, not good I try and 1 USB3.0 or USB 3.1 cannot use for 2 screens then I try one USB3.0 from laptop to 1 VGA with Full HD 1080P the quality still not good. My suggestion is don't be try.
Once a 3 monitor USB Plugable setup is installed will software like DisplayFusion Pro v.5.11 work with this setup. Specifically, will DF recognize the 3 monitors and utilize the full functions of the software like independent wallpapers, screen savers as well as all the other functions? Thank you for your response.
Hi, Hi, Can you please tell me if this would with a HP Pavilion 13-an0006na laptop? And would perform with no lag? Also would I be able to watch a 1080p vid with it or would I have to use my laptop 1080p screen?
hey, i was wondering, i want to add 4 Raspberry Pi's 2 B+ on this hub to create a cluster. Each Pi is eating 700mA, total of 2.8Amps. Is it feasible? Will i have all 4 powered up? No other device will be attached to the Pi (the hub will do).
Hi, I have desktop and the graphic card I have is supporting HDMI, VGA, DVI, so I purchases the third monitor and I plug it into the DVI. but I couldn't make the 3 monitor work together, it just display 2 monitor. so do I need to get usb graphic. is there any thing that I can do to display the third monitor? Thanks.

Hi, I tried the same setup with 3 Display, but its not working. It works for 2 Display (extended), but when I add the 3rd Display it just comes as mirror and not Extended. the last Monitor that i add acts as mirror Display instead of Extended. Can anyone suggest what might be wrong ? I am using Windows 7 right now.
Hi I have connected my work laptop( HP windows 10) with external screen with hdmi cable and then tried to connect same laptop to my personal laptop (sony vaio window's 7) using VGA 15 pin cable so that I can use 3 screen simultaneously , but it's not working. Any solution to it? If any wireless connections can be done it would be grt.
Hi all, congrats first. sorry for the dumb question but I would like to ask the following: the 7 USB 3.0 hub needs to have an external power adapter (25W in this case) OR can be used a simple 3.0 multiplier without an external power supply? thanks a lot.
Hi Nicola, Thank you for reaching out to us! There is no such thing as a stupid question, and this one is a great one! The Hub does require the Power supply in order to function, as it does not allow "Bus Powered" abilities when connected to the host system. It will need to have the AC Adapter connected in order to turn on and function correctly. I hope this information helps, please feel free to reach out to us directly at support@plugable.com if you have any additional questions or concerns, and I would be more than happy to assist. Thank you for your time, Marc Product Owner & Technical Support
Hi, I am trying to hook up a third monitor to my all in one. I have the 2nd monitor hooked up to the VGA port on the back of the AOI screen, and I purchased a USB VGA adapter for the 3rd monitor. However, whenever I install the driver, it wreaks havoc on my computer. It will only allow me to start windows in safe mode, the computer becomes extremely slow when turned on. It won't come out of sleep mode at all unless I shut it down and restart. I have been in contact with the technical support department for the adapter and they had me reinstall the driver again, but it still is giving me issues. Also, when I attempt to change my display settings, it takes many, many times of me resetting and hitting apply before the settings will work the way I want them to. I have uninstalled the driver and now my computer is working fine again, but now I only have 2 monitors working. If you have any suggestions on what could be causing this problem, I would greatly appreciate it. As my life is much easier using 3 monitors when working from home. Thank you!

Hi there, Is Plugable still making this, Will this work with Acer Nitro laptop for six screens Do you need to install drivers on your laptop for this product. Thanks
The taskbar is locked and keeps moving all over the monitors. I have 1 over 3. Bottom 3 are in surround. Hell, it just covered 1 and a half of them from top to bottom. LOL. Oh, Windows 7.
I have a HP ProBook 650 G2 and looking to do this thing. I need one monitor in portrait mode and 2 others in landscape. Giving me 3 external monitors not including the laptop, this is for work purposes and a work laptop. They won't give me a desktop but how would I go about getting 3 monitors to work?
Hi there, I purchase a Plugable USB hub and 4 fresco display adapter to connect 5 screens to a computer. But as soon as I connected the second monitor the displays started to flicker and disappear. I downloaded all drivers necessary. Can you please help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. All adapters work when connected separately on the computer.
Hi there, can anyone please tell me if it shows image only after driver installation or not? I intend to use as a maintenance tool for laptops with screen problems. For example, I would like to access the BIOS configuration before boot... Is it possible? Thanks in advance ;)
i have one Dell desktop and Im using One VGA monitor and One HDMI TV with it, now i want to connect One More VGA monitor and One HDMI tv , could you please tell me which switch or hub i have buy ?please give me the website link so i can place an order thanks

Hi Leonard - HDMI on its own doesn't support hubs that allow multiple monitors (with different content) to be displayed. So the kind of setup like in this video is the only way to do it.

HI , great thx for the video , would be a big help if you could show us pulling the videos or windows on the computer to each screen. as downloading the display software and using it . everyone only shows how to download but not showing how works .
Does it seriously take up nearly 50% of your cpu to run this setup? Around the 1:20ish mark it looks like windows task manager has cpu pegged near half , and the cpu usage histograms look like it's been sitting there for quite some time? What would the cpu usage be to only power a couple monitors?
Cool... but I wouldn't recommend this for an actual setup... I mean, it'd be really laggy and you can't play games on all those screens. Besides, they take up your entire FOV... If you have a computer with a bit of umph, maybe add a second little display next to your 1080p display, if you have a beast machine, get a third one. You could even have them all be identical monitors, so you could do eyefinity gaming or whatever, still, that costs a lot and really hits on performance in games and stuff. I have 1 1080p display and 1 1280x1024 display, the first one is 23,6" and the second one is 17", so they pretty much match up in ppi and it's great. :) Though it does remove like 5 fps from your gaming performance.
I already have dual monitor that is really, REALLY cool extra real estate, something that I should've done much sooner. With 7 monitors? Man, that would be overkill! :) But I wouldn't say no either. Man, imagine Pornhub on 7 screens, each one on one niche! I'D NEVER LEAVE MY HOUSE and would have an oversized right arm like Quagmire!
hello i have to tell you my story, one day i start to scream bc my mum have brown eyes and she is very good, and then my mum say oh hello son i am your dad
I would like to set-up 6 monitors for trading .I have 4 usb openings on my pc and currently using a dvi and vga on my sound card with 2 monitors running , . what would I need to do get the other 4 monitors set-up?
hello guys.....I used 2 way VGA splitter....I gave one input from my desktop graphics card....and I got 2 VGA outputs for my 2 monitors. ..my problem is its only duplicating the display and extending is not working ....I tried clicking detect and identify button.....my graphics card is gigabyte gt710 its supports up to 3 monitors....plz help me to solve this issue

So if my laptop has 4 USB ports, does that mean I can have 28 displays?

With a decent CPU and GPU, I think that could actually be very useful in shops and stores that need a LOT of displays from one source (such as a McDonalds where they have loads of displays showing the same thing).
Even though this product is going 10 years old, I still think it is very useful now, wish I'd have known about this a few years ago when my team used to have up to 8 screens doing work but we did it via three PC's.
7 monitors?
well I guess it was windows 7.
next thing you know they did 8 and 10 monitors.
😆 😆 😆
good video, can someone assist me, i have a Blackberry Key2, BB100-4 , black/broken screen.
trying to access it, i can boot into fastboot . and send fastboot commands
how can i access display? I got hdmi USB C adapter from amazon (B097NZDN1M) no picture on TV.
i dont think USB is enabled. is there a way to boot into ADB mode and use VYSOR? or some other software with this model? i tried vysor/drfone to no avail it only dect it as blackberry.
I cant even access it as a USB as i have to put into PTP mode but not possbile with broken screen.
Serious question, is laptops Graphic card handling all this, or does that USB to VGA/HDMI converters have some sort built in graphic card?

Stick with Intel or nVidia or AMD/ATI.
do you see that hub and the vga usb adapter all on kit?
Windows only allows a single audio output device at a time. So if all the monitors have speakers, you'd be opening the Windows "Sound" control panel and picking one monitor or speaker to have all sound go out of. Note that only our HDMI native adapter carries audio -- DVI and VGA cannot. Thanks!
super cool this :) USB 7 monitor setup
wants the refresh rate those monitors are running at?
I've been using it for 2 years now and it works fantastic !!!
Wouldn't it be better just to connect your computer to a TV? Like, we could just go simple than advanced. And I also think a TV would consume less power because it's using only one power cord and processor.
Is plugable usb hubs compatible to a Acer chromebook 315? Does the chrome OS support more then 1 extended display ?
Can I run the same setup with a USB 3 - 4 port adapters with 4 USB to HDMI cables running 4 monitors from my laptop?
I use 4 monitors, one via HDMI, one via VGA, and two plugged to USB 3.0 with VGA adaptors. I bought USB to HDMI adaptor, but I couldn't get it running, not sure why. Maybe it was just a bad adaptor.
That is sHoCkiNgLy amazing... Just playing (1) video would be enough proof of concept for me :) I never would have believed it to be true. And that was ~5 Yrs ago. Good work!
Windows 8 have separate taskbars for each monitor.
Very usefult
You can achieve this on Windows 7 or Vista using a software program called DisplayFusion.
how to connect from laptop to another laptop for display extension using cable ?
Thank you for your response.

hey, i was wondering, i want to add 4 Raspberry Pi's 2 B+ on this hub to create a cluster. Each Pi is eating 700mA, total of 2.8Amps. Is it feasible? Will i have all 4 powered up? No other device will be attached to the Pi (the hub will do).

Hi,
I tried the same setup with 3 Display, but its not working.
Hi Nicola,
Thank you for reaching out to us!
Thank you for your time,
Marc

Thank you!
I am trying to set up on a laptop gateway 2monitors including the laptop. I need them to identify 3 different screens. I have a USH VGA Splitter. Its only displaying to different views

The only cool thing I see here its from 2012:) Wtf:) btw. USB C cant handle so many monitors, I believe its three tops:)

Hi Leonard - HDMI on its own doesn't support hubs that allow multiple monitors (with different content) to be displayed. So the kind of setup like in this video is the only way to do it.

Hi...I'm thinking of purchasing ur setup for 3 monitors.
Current scenario is:
Laptop has 1hdmi port currently connected to monitor using dvi adapter.
Thanks
HI , great thx for the video , would be a big help if you could show us pulling the videos or windows on the computer to each screen. as downloading the display software and using it . everyone only shows how to download but not showing how works .
Hello I want to Extend (not mirror) 1 display over 5 monitors is that possible with 2 of these I have 3 outputs already on my computer!..thanks
Can you make this video in latest equipment or accessories in 2021. Means how to connect ? But please go practically how it will be attached.
Can this be done on macbook ?
Connecting usbc to plugable usb 3.0 hub and then to several monitors.
It will be extended or mirrored ?
Thanks
If you laptop has an external video port, you can use it - no problem. So that saves you one USB adapter. Thanks for asking!
Cool... but I wouldn't recommend this for an actual setup...
I already have dual monitor that is really, REALLY cool extra real estate,
something that I should've done much sooner.
With 7 monitors? Man, that would be overkill! :)
But I wouldn't say no either.
Man, imagine Pornhub on 7 screens, each one on one niche!
I'D NEVER LEAVE MY HOUSE and would have an oversized right arm like Quagmire!
hello i have to tell you my story, one day i start to scream bc my mum have brown eyes and she is very good, and then my mum say oh hello son i am your dad
oh nice brooo

I've heard the Minideck 3 by Sewell is supposed to be good for gaming but it's not out yet.
