😂 I ABSOLUTELY adore you and Di ! Last night, after watching several videos of yours and Di's, I dreamt that we three were each testing a new quilting pattern. Each of us were applying our own little twist. Of course, like always, they turned out exquisitely! Happy quilting. Always smile with a grateful heart. Love and Light!
You are rocking this video, Girl!! You are so much fun to work with, I appreciate you so very much. And you make a dang good quilt too❣️ Love your guts, Di
I have never taken an art class but have been sewing and quilting for decades. I have always had issues with color. This video did explain a lot. Thanks
I like blues, greens & purple (depending on it) together! Enjoy seeing you ladies together. April because of you, I've been watching Sister Chick's Quilting videos too. April I have a Frosted Mulberry wall in my dining room.
Love y'all's collaboration. From the great color theory portion to watching the larger blocks come together. I really like the all color blocks. Especially the one that's mostly blue with the darkest of the blue hsts. It seems the calmest. Great for resting/sleeping. Good job girls. Blessings to y'all.
This was one of the best color theory lessons I have watched..thank you both so much..Di gave us a wonderful explanation of basic color understanding. You both gave us fantastic examples. Thank you both!
This video is very helpful. I knew what a color is for, but not what the colors groupings were called. This is very helpful. I am in love with the blue and green block you made on this video. I would never have thought about using a background that isn't white or tan or black. Thanks this really helped.
Love the 2 blue squares without the white it seems so calming Thank you for the instructions on the colour theory. Love how you both interact with each other Thank you for sharing with us xx
This video helped me understand how to put certain colors together. I e been sewing and quilting for decades but i never took an art class. Im lucky i can draw a straight line with a ruler Thank you for the color lesson
This is wonderful. I enjoyed this fun presentation and always love learning about color. Today, I need to get a color chart! Great shirt, sure wish I can find one. I have a Morgan- Quarter horse cross, Noel. And due to a miracle last December, I was gifted a young Hackney - Morgan filly. With the owners consent we changed her name from Pizzazazarina to Holiday. They called her Jazz….we have a granddaughter in law who left her horse, you guessed it, Jazz here for her last year in college. Wow, that would have been interesting to live with….two horses called Jazz. I also love, love blue and green quilts. Speak of synchronicity, I chose those colors to make a baby quilt for this granddaughter in laws baby’s first baby. I made a sixteen patch which is gorgeous using mostly batiks and a few batik similar fabrics. Ben still loves his quilt. Thank you so much for this video as I know it must take a lot of time behind the scenes and including the actual taping it. Great presentation from the both of you. I don’t know but seeing your finished blocks might have been just the push I need to entice me to make at least one quilt using larger blocks. Back in my grandmother’s day, she usually made 8” to 10” block squares. She was a farmers wife in rural Connecticut so they need heaps of quilts as upstairs bedrooms often weren’t heated. One of my favorite memories is of sleeping under a stack of her quilts and the feeling comfort they involved. Thanks and blessings to the two of you from Maine woods.
Two horses with same name... yes that would have been something for sure ..lol good thing you changed the name of one thank you for sharing and watching my video... 🤗 April
LOVE this video! I love your collaborations with Di. They are so much fun to watch. I can't believe I've watched almost every video you've made and just realized you rotary cut with both your right and your left hands!!! Very neat!
I love how you jumbo size the blocks! I also hate using small pieces to quilt 😉, Now, I can print the pattern and use your measurements to do this complicated looking pattern, that in actuality is quite simple. As always, thank you for sharing your quilting with us and I am looking forward to seeing the finished product.
I like the blue, green and white block at the bottom the best. The colors are beautiful in all of them. I like the pieces to be smaller. Your quilt looks like it is going to be interesting.
I usually change mine that the first signs of it not cutting ... those blades are so expensive so at the first sign of dullness I change it .. but not until then April
Hello April I was glad to see you had posted a video I have been wondering if you were OK after all that devastating flooding . I have been busy quilting I have so many quilt tops I wish I knew where I could donate them to people that would finish the quilt you know I have the tops I’ll be glad to give them to someone to finish my favorite part of quilting is cutting the fabric and sewing. I have some new quilt pictures I need to send you well I’m just glad that you’re OK have a good day
Thank you Emily. We are fortunate enough to be in the middle of Kentucky. I do feel for those poor people in Eastern Kentucky. I know our Project Linus group will take quilt tops. They have people who will quilt and bind them. Do you have a local quilt shop that takes Project Linus donations? You might try them. And if I see any groups collecting tops I will definitely let you know. :-). Thank you for watching and I can't wait to see what you've been working on. April
Thank you for explaining it all.. i have trouble reading the patterns and working out what to do, but with you doing it i could follow along easily. Thank you, keep up the good work... where's the chocolate?
I like your super sized version “ Jacobs ladder” block. Can I get get your pattern with actual cutting instruction for the super size? I’d like to make up a queen size quilt with this block size 24.5 x 24.5. Thanks for sharing!
There are always quilt pieces .. (scraps ) that can be cut into squares and make a 9 patch ... sometimes I use those and make to donate cause I hate to waste fabric!!! Hope this helps April
I noticed you cut your material using both left hand & right hand also. I’m left handed and find it difficult to measure and cut the way you do. Any ideas on how to correctly cut my material ?
Hi Jackie .. I have rulers that have the measurements going from both sides... I am left handed ... I cut a certain way usually but my friend is right handed ... I have to flip that ruler around so that the #'s line up for her for a right handed person .... the struggle is real ... the key is to find a ruler that you can easily identify the direction you need and that will help you greatly hope this helps April
I am not being picky... I am asking... the bottom. Block of three. Love love love the bold colors but it looks completely different then the others.... the white is very pronounced as are the steps.... is that because the 4 patch is rotated differently then the others and does it make a difference in the pattern for a true Jacob's ladder ... or is it designers choice ?
I noticed the difference in the placement of the 4 patches as well. I liked the secondary pattern when that happened with the block above it the other way. Interesting.
I haven't been happy with any arrangement of those blocks together. I was playing with analogous colors and I like the individual blocks, but not the blocks together. So i agree with you. :-). i'm not sure how they will end up being arranged. :-) April
I don't know that they will ever look good together - they are just all really different. I love the individual blocks. It was a learning experience. :-) April
I'm not sure if I'll see you reply but, I get a lot of fabric pieces from thrift stores big variety of cotton Pieces and colors. I have stocked my shelves with anywhere from 4 yd to pieces that is. I do have a lot of one yd of different colors different designs. How do I find quilt patterns that use a variety of fabrice as this. I do the basic square or rectangle quilts, but what about designs
If you have three different 1 yard materials that kind of goes together .. you should try the three yard quilts (see my videos on those) .. lots of beautiful designs / and I love doing those! Hope this helps April
Shoot all the sound went off about the time you was showing your quilt blocks on the wall 😢 But I will still say what I think anyways. Lol. I loved your very first block the best. For some reason I think Jacobs Ladder looks best with white back ground fabric. Seems to show up better!! I mean all the other blocks were pretty too. So no offense please! ❤️ Until next time, have a sweet, happy and safe week 🙂
You are great! I did a crazy thing- a “stack and wack” using that festival / carnival- then all kind of crazy animals with solids- what should I do now- I have all these crazy blocks- maybe sashing- maybe solids- oh geeze- Jesus help me!
Love your color pick , but your sound was off April. Could hear Di VERY clearly but no you, your music was louder than you was. I love Di's color pick also.
Dixie I’m so sorry if it was distracting and loud I’ll work on it to see if I can make it lighter and not so distracting and go from there I do appreciate you telling me and I appreciate you watching April
I am! I don't write well with my right hand, but I can do it. I actually use scissors with my right hand, but can't use scissors well with my left hand. LOL. I'm just a BIG MESS!!! :-). Thank you for watching. April

I so love your videos. Thanks for taking the time and effort. It’s appreciated. BTW, it’s pronounced with a hard G, not the soft J sound.
Thank you so much for sharing! I appreciate that!

How big did the blocks come out please
For your four patch blocks you might want to have one of the colors to be 3-4 shades lighter so that there is more contrast.
That is an excellent suggestion .. thank you!
April
I am not being picky... I am asking... the bottom. Block of three. April
Analogous is pronounced with a hard “g”
Thank you Ann!
I will definately try to practice that for the next time.
Thanks for watching!
April
I follow no rules but my own when choosing colors
I am kinda the same way .. but it was neat to see the color wheel in action ...
Thanks for watching
April
I prefer the one with the white backgrounds. The ones with the blue backgrounds are pretty too, but I feel they are too subdued for you! 😘
lol .. I do love bright colors .. but it was nice to see the differences
thanks for watching
April
Takes me back to my freshman year in college (fashion design requirement) in Color 101. Horrible teacher but I did learn some things
LOL
at least you did learn
April
I like the blue and greens. The white looks harsh to me. That is just what I think. Everyone is different.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for watching my channel!

Also, complementary with an E is the right word.
I always struggle with that word - thank goodness for spell correct.
April
perfect 🥰
Thank you. :-)

I did a crazy thing- a “stack and wack” using that festival / carnival- then all kind of crazy animals with solids- what should I do now- I have all these crazy blocks- maybe sashing- maybe solids- oh geeze- Jesus help me!

April
I like the Jacob's ladder that is analgous
Thank you! 🤗
April
Actually, analogous is supposed to be pronounced with a hard G.
Ahhh - that's how you say it. :-)
April
Love your color pick , but your sound was off April. Could hear Di VERY clearly but no you, your music was louder than you was. I love Di's color pick also.
Hi Felicia..
Thank you for letting me know ... I am looking into why sound was different
I appreciate you watching and letting me know
April
Please stop the music. I find it distracting and it drowns you out. I enjoy your videos and want to hear what you say.
Dixie I’m so sorry if it was distracting and loud
I’ll work on it to see if I can make it lighter and not so distracting and go from there
I do appreciate you telling me and I appreciate you watching
April
It is pronounced analoGUHS...with a hard G.
Thank you!!!
Are you ambidextrious??
I am! I don't write well with my right hand, but I can do it. I actually use scissors with my right hand, but can't use scissors well with my left hand. LOL. I'm just a BIG MESS!!! :-). Thank you for watching.
April
Sounds like April has her head in a bag. Too distracting.
I am in my basement and the furnace is running the air conditioner.
