Look at it that the team puts people to work both full time and part time jobs. As well hotels, restaurants, etc. all get fans spending their $$$ to stay, eat out, etc. I don't agree with this move though because I'm a Raiders seasons ticket holder and an 11 game ice pack holder of the Golden Knights. 😂 at Gumby.
Seriously MLB and Manfred should seriously look at the differences between the Raiders and the Golden Knights in the NHL. The Raiders have been struggling to sell tickets (almost all of the sellouts at Allegant has been from fans from out of town opposing teams.
Meanwhile the Knights now have a permanent and passionate fan base. They were a then brand new expansion team. Also helped that the Knights, was also immediately a championship contender winning a Stanley Cup within 6 years after they started.
While it’s probably too late, MLB should have just given an expansion team to Vegas.
And if the A’s had to leave Oakland at least keep them somewhere in Northern California such as in Sacramento.

grew up loving the A's but after decades of failed attempts at a stadium anywhere in the bay, an owner that won't spend on players, a sh*t ballpark, I have given up. I just can't bring myself to say I'm now a SF Giants fan. What we need is an expansion team in the bay (not Oakland).

Quit squabbling over design details that are not solidified yet, disappointed ones. The A’s have league obligations that trump petty aesthetic concerns, and their machinations will be guided by their obligations. The Oakland A’s are the miracle team that changed baseball at it’s core forever by inventing money ball and we in the Bay Area will never forget that. Many fans will travel to Las Vegas to see the team because of their deep roots and history in Oakland. Oakland has changed so much that it was impossible for the A’s to stay. You don’t understand that because you are not here and don’t see it with your own eyes. It wasn’t just about money. You should welcome this amazing team with open arms and be fortunate to have them. Stop letting your expectations of entitlement foolishly race ahead of major league baseball’s realities of team participation. Nothing in LV is shyte designed at such scale, and you are going to get a great stadium and a great team.
Love them, support them, and watch them win and win and win for you.

Any team that MOVES gets immediately removed from any loyal fanbase. Nobody wants a disloyal owner and team! This is why the Titans, Chargers, Raiders, Colts, Browns, Cardinals, Ravens... should NEVER win... don't reward disloyalty!

lmao dude is trying to sell 25% of the team to raise the funds to build in Las Vegas. He could have sold off around 8% to raise 80mil in Oakland to pay for the funding offsite gap. Oakland was all in for almost $1 billion for a waterfront stadium. It's the most laughable and inexcusable relocation in sports history. He doesn't have the $ to build anywhere and right now is chasing after Casino $ with MLB being complicit.
Let's face it, MLB wants in LV for the gambling as soon as possible and they don't want to wait for expansion to do it. There's probably no local investor that is willing to spend $1-2bil for expansion PLUS another 1.5bil for a stadium. LV is too small of a market to pull that off. MLB, by using Fisher, and waiving a relocation fee, it becomes more realistic. No one should be fooled by this. MLB needs LV bad for gambling and they can't give them a discounted price for expansion while charging a big market like Montreal to get their team. It will land them in court so fast and lose their anti-trust exemption.

We really didn't want F1 either but Vegas is so FOS for that. Especially when F1 asked for our hard-earned [but easily taken from us] tax-paid, I mean, stolen, dollars and gave a HUGE chunk to F1 to help build the track/ stands, and so on. And what did they do? They turned around and charged us tickets, food, merchandise and $100,000 booths. We should have been entitled to it all. Now, Vegas has forced us once again to pay for it all, and for the A's. They take our money and then charge us in return for all of the above.

Imagine voluntarily rooting for a John Fisher owned team? I get if you grew up an As fan but seriously if you’re a Vegas resident and you picked this team to root for you’d have to be a masochist. The guy‘s team exists purely to be a parasite on MLB revenue sharing. Would be better off following and rooting for a AAA team of an actual MLB franchise than the AAAA Athletics.
