The grave he visits at the end is Eazy-E’s. He was in N.W.A. with Dre and they had some issues and fell out. Eazy died from complications due to AIDS. This is Dre making his peace with that.

Him and Eazy we're making amends before he passed, and Eazy E gave him HIS start as he funded the studio time and Dre became the producer and wrote his raps for even him though, but Eazy ended up owning the label, until they left when the devil came knocking (Suge Knight) so he was going to HIS mentors grave and remembering his origin aswell (same as Eminem)
I did noticed the video didn't feature amy pics of his son, who died maybe 15yrs ago from an OD, he was a teenager. Andre Jr... Maybe it was just too personal.
Also, I think that Eminem actually recorded this and sent it to Dr Dre being he even said "Your Gonna either wanna fight when I get off this mic/ or your gonna hug me, but I'm out of options/ etc "I need a doctor"
This was due to the fact that Dre kept second guessing himself after his "Chronic 2001" album and spent about 15 years delaying his upcoming album.
He started as a producer though but he always had a track record of letting artists go after 1 album (besides Eminem) so that no one would ever have an album flop under him, and never did apparently.
Dre always wants to go out on top, either with artists (prior to Eminem) or with himself.
Oddly enough, he's put out his long awaited album (and maybe another) in the past 5yrs and it just wasn't appreciated as he expected, new generation where albums are a dime a dozen without even having to buy them so Soooooo much work can go into an album and someone just burn it and not buy it, or trash it without even listening.
One came out with the release of his /NWA's biopic "Straight Out of Compton" (if you've never watched it, it's a great movie) that came in around 2017/2018.
Just some extra insight as this video was SUPER symbolic and layered.
On a final note, the 3rd verse is him directly responding to Eminem's 2nd verse, but I used to think that Eminem wrote it due to the rhyme scheme but due to Dre slipping up on 1 fast part, starting to think he didn't have a set style at the time so he just mirrored Eminem's tempo but definitely had an Eminem vibe to it, but with Dre's stamp.
Again, great review which made watching this video again for the first time in years even better!

It wasn’t “really” gang violence shown, that was Dre’s first group N.W.A. Some of their performances and videos..they definitely did see A LOT of that in real life growing up in Compton.
The crash wasn’t real. According to Dre it was symbolic of feeling like his life was a wreck, the rehab representative of him working through his issues and coming out the other side.

@Reaction Therapy, when you look at the Single Cover you can see one of your hypotheses verified. It Shows a sign like those in Hospitals showing you where to go. It says "physical rehabilitation", which refers to your thesis of physical rehabilitation of Dr.Dre. Thanks for the Videos, their really entertaining and giving further thoughts on the lyrics of Songs. Ps: I'm sorry for any grammar errors, I'm still learning this language.

Eminem turned his depression into resentment and it made him famous. I related to Eminem's earlier stuff from having a bad childhood. He said the things I wish I could say and related heavily to it. I think I would've killed myself at a young age if it wasn't for his music. He literally saved my life. Thanks Dre
I don't know if you've heard of Tom McDonald but he made a song named dear slim. The video is based on Stan and You should watch it
@Alistair102040 Tom is a cringe conservative rapper who just made an entire album complaining about wokeness. Don't think Eminem likes him or wants to even acknowledge Tom's existence. In that song he says he's just like Eminem when Eminem was young, but he's nothing like him. Eminem has always been liberal and was rapping about real world problems. Tom isn't even giving much of a tribute to Eminem, he just keeps talking about himself and basically says he's the new Eminem, which he's not. Tom is a narcissist and he's delusional if he thinks he's anything like Eminem. The only reason he was able to get Em's beat is because he bought it at an auction. The beat isn't even that good and Tom still somehow managed to butcher it.
This is one of my favorite songs. You can truly feel Eminem pouring his heart out. I've seen an interview with Skylar who said Eminem wrote his verses is about ten minutes, just letting it pour out.
Every time i hear this song. I get goosebumps. You can feel every word Eminem says.
Skylar Grey has so many interesting songs. She's the writer for a ton of the instrumental/vocals of hip-hop/rap that gets labeled as Pop because it gets huge playback and became hits. She's got these interesting twists of songs like "Wear Me Out", "Back From the Dead" and more.
I personally like "Kill for You," which is a better version of "Him and I" by G-Easy, in my opinion!
The thing is, Em is fiercely loyal. To a damn fault. But he's only that way to a select few aside from his 3 daughters. Em was never going to leave Dre's side, especially knowing what he was going through. Everyone else legitimately left Dre when he was going through it, but Em showed up every day for him, literally so. Their friendship is a deep bond, and there's 3 of them: Em, Dre, and 50Cent.
Eminem is a true artist. You can't just listen to one of his songs and make a judgement on who he is. You have to listen to everything he ever wrote. You will never hear a better lyricist or someone who throws out their feelings begging for help like he does.
I couldn't agree more. He puts it all out there, the good and the bad. I think it's his way of working through his feelings and he does it almost better than anyone. No one can ever say he doesn't lay his soul bare.
We all have those moments of rage and frustration. This is his way of dealing. He gets so much shit for the things he says but he isn't acting on those feelings or repressing them. He's had his moments of completely screwing up but he owns it and tried to do better.
Dre was on his last leg at the record label and he signed Em and blew up
Shortly after this, Dre made an appearance at some music award show (forget which). He walked out on stage all bulked up like in the video as a changed man and received a standing ovation from the crowd. He hadn't been seen out in public for a long time before that. Unfortunately at the end of last year, Dre and his wife ended a long time marriage with a massive divorce settlement.

Hope you get to unlock more of Dre’s history..from The D.O.C., Jimmy Z, Eazy E, World Class Wrecking Crew…been a Dre fan since 1987 when NWA started. Dude has been through so much. So glad he gave Marshall a look…he has been loyal with him since he signed him up. Glad you finally watched the video!
He was distressed because his son passed away just before this was made like I said that's why he was reminiscing about Tupac who he also had a small incident with and eazy e etc he was realizing that life is too short to hold onto stuff. The crash was holding onto all of those things especially when you put Eminem lyrics in context was how it affected his life mentally and emotionally and physically he went into a very very dark place and hiding for a while before this track was made. This track imo helped Dre get the peace from losing his son and his friends like Tupac and eazy e etc

To understand you gotta look into the history between Eazy-E and Dre they had a falling out before E passed away and this is basically Dre coping and finding peace in his passing

The girl singing in the chorus is meant to represent Hip Hop music. She’s also talking to Dre.
It shows what kind of man he is to show respects to Eazy-E at the end of the video. They had their beef. It went bad. But it shows his heart of being a man and a beautiful story of forgiveness

*The Defiant Ones* which is a pretty great mini documentary that came out in 2017; which consists of a total of 4 episodes that run roughly 1 hour each episode.
It’s main focus is the careers of Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre within the music industry in the 1980s; As well as the partnership between the both of them throughout the years together.
In my honest opinion, it’s probably gonna be the best way for you to get a very detailed insight to a lot of the questions that you ask & about so much more thats just really informative about the music industry since the 1970s/1980s.
You’ll be able to see where everything surrounding the very beginning of Dr. Dre’s career within the music industry & how he has continued to grow & evolve, the good, the bad, the highs & the very very lows that he’s had to go through.

That burial tombstone at the end, is not his son, but Eric Wright; professionally known as, "Eazy-E". He was a part of the hip hop group that Dr. Dre was a part of in the 80's, called, "N.W.A." (Ice Cube was also a part of the group. The group is widely considered as one of the greatest and most influential groups in the history of hip hop music. ). Eazy-E died from AIDS-induced pneumonia, one month after his diagnosis. Dr. Dre's son, Andre Young Jr., passed away on August 23, 2008, at 20 years old. His death was ruled an accident due to morphine and heroin intoxication. (The rappers that you saw in the beginning were: Eazy-E, 2Pac, The D.O.C, Snoop Dogg, Warren G, Eminem, Xzibit, and then all the rest of the members from N.W.A.).

Dr. Dre lost his son when his son was 20 years old from a heroin/morphine overdose. His mother found him dead at his home.. in jan 2009. We need to advocate for addiction! Last year in my state we lost 80 ppl to covid and 130 ppl to overdose and drugs. When will we address every epidemic! There is help! I am 8 years clean from heroin. After a 12 year addiction. I lived, let's help others live too.

Client after said I was dr Dre and he was Eminem. Such a life affirming song/video and probably the most affecting message creative way to let me know and brought me deep meaning.
im not sure if anyone explained it earlier as it has been nearly 2 months since this reaction was released but im 99% certain he wasnt never in a carcrash or injured to that degree. it was more of a dramatic retelling of various difficult things going on in his life.
His son had died somewhat recent to the release or creating of that video and the grave stone at the end was of his friend Eric Wright, aka easy-e, his fellow NWA member.
