“There’s only one song on the record that I produced. It’s a track called ’Beautiful,’” [Eminem] said in [Vibe’s June 2009] issue. “And one of the only reasons that I put that track on there is that I feel like it’s the best song out of that batch that I did when I wasn’t sober. At the time I felt like, ’This is it for me.’ I wrote the first verse and a half in rehab, and when I came out, I finished it. It was the only song that marks that period without bringing me back to that place. Every other track not only didn’t fit with the album, but when I listened to it, it would bring up bad memories.”
It's Paul Rodgers singing from song "Reaching Out". Eminem used the sample for his song and it meshes so well. I'm glad you found the uncensored version it has the extra verse & a message at the end, to his daughters & his fans! This was shot at the Michigan Central Train Station, the old Tiger Stadium & locations all around. He wrote part of this in rehab & rest of it later on. This is after he overdosed and he was in a pretty bad place. His mom moved them around a lot! He never got to stay in one place long enough to make friends. Not until he was older...by then he was shy, quiet & awkward kid.

SAME! clicked on it in less than 0.0000001 seconds. i discovered it in a rough time in my life a couple years ago when i was 25 and now its basically ritual to always go back and listen.

I really went through it when this song was released, can't describe how therapeutic it was, and how weird it is to look back. Life has changed so much
I was in middle school when this came out and it helped me be myself and love myself. I have so much respect for this man. I came from a similar background with my parents and it’s almost like he’s guided me through my life and he’s given me insight that I didn’t know I needed at the time. Mockingbird was my favorite song as a little girl. I felt like he was speaking to me. I had addict parents and abusive siblings. He just felt like a big brother to me growing up.
Eminem was picked on by other kids a shit ton growing up. He was beaten so bad once he went into a coma and had to relearn how to do basic daily functions like walking, speaking, and eating. His outlet was his drawings, and then later his music. They were the only way he could find to express himself without being made fun of. The stadium being torn down is the old Tigers Stadium. They had a new stadium built so didn't need it anymore. So it was coincidental timing that he was looking to film this video there in his hometown and it was being torn down at the same time.
My favorite Eminem song. He wrote this song in Rehab it came out in 2009 😍.Beautiful Pain by Eminem is a great song too. Very deep and inspirational. It's why he has a huge die hard fan base. Extremely reliable and Humble. Great Reaction ❤️This
He vanished for 4 years ....He said he wrote this while he was trying to get better and quit the pills and stuff..so its his reflection on what he was going thru at the time

i did camera work on this music video. the first day of shooting was at the old michigan central station. its an absolutely beautiful building. however, about half way through the day, a big storm came in and flooded the station, due to the glass ceilings being shattered over the years. i remember walking past electrical cables held over the knee deep water to power our lights for filming. having to carry film up three flights of stairs. i remember standing outside of the old tiger stadium while marshall was performing on scaffolding, and crying while behind him they were tearing down tiger stadium.
I think the music video was filmed in May or June of 2009. That’s awesome!
'Sing for the moment' is really great and meaningful song
I used to write to this instrumental, eventually made a version about taking care of my sister through the trauma we been through. This one brought a lil tear to my eye . Thanks guys
This caused me to remember a fun medical fact: If the first tear comes from the right eye, you’re crying from joy. If the first tear comes from your left eye, you’re crying from sadness.
I don’t know if you remember that exact, but I’m hoping you were happy after writing the song.

The singing in the background is a sample of Paul Rodgers from the song Reaching Out by Queen. EMINEM loves using Rock samples in his songs like how Sing For the Moment has a heavy sample from Aerosmith’s Dream On or how his song So Far has a generous sample of Life’s Been Good by Joe Walsh or Darkness with Simon & Garfunkel’s Sound of Silence or Berzerk sampling Billy Squire’s The Stroke.

Old days in Detroit…..lmao….this was how we looked 10 years ago….this building is FINALLY being renovated……Detroit is finally coming back to life, but it’s been less than 10 years that the reconstruction and vitality started…..yes it was hard to see Tiger Stadium tore down (Kid Rock has a video with it being torn down in the background also) BUT they kept the Diamond…..volunteers maintained its integrity and just 2 to 3 years ago a new youth stadium was built around it!!! So it’s back in action for a new generation

I've seen the falling in reverse reaction, but I haven't seen any other metal or metal-adjacent reactions yet. the lyrical reactions I've seen so far are incredible, but I found catharsis in heavy stuff. Maybe it's the rage they share.

As far as the chorus, it's Eminem doing a layering tactic he often used when singing on the chorus with uses a LOW tone where he can carry the note, a MID Tone, and a HIGH note in which is turned lower but onced blended/mixed just right, it sounds great. He used to do it in a lot of his music and does it time to time still but not nearly as much.
Funny thing is, they muted the other layers on the "So O Oh oo oh" and let it be a solo take being he hit that high note so well, yet on the VERY FINAL chorus of the song,
It plays without the layers muted on that part (you'll then hear the layers in comparison if not an audiophile)
A studio tactic known as "dubs" or "trips" (meaning rapping behind yourself 2, maybe 3 times on the software and sometimes more for choruses to give a full sound.
On his earlier stuff, ALL of his verses had atleast 1 layer behind it to thicken it up but when he started the fast rap, it turned to single layer and you'll notice his voice doesn't sound as thick or punchy (aside from some studio EQ that can boost the MIDS to make it have some Gain effect)

I like the rawness of Walk on Water, especially with the stripped down production of just a piano. Which leads into a more produced, highly technical track of Believe. The 3rd verse is flawless

being from detroit this video always makes me upset, seeing our city just fall apart daily, its getting better now but i dont expect them to advance into southwest or anything outside of downtown and midtown, just knowing that this place used to be full of life and work, now it feels like a ghost town in some parts
