    Tywin never knew Arya went missing. He thought she was in Kings Landing. I would’ve liked a scene where Tywin later learns of Arya going missing with Cersei/Tyrion and being like “how does a Northern Highborn girl go undiscov.......” then going silent.

    Most of the bad about Jaime is from being around Cersei. She corrupts him with her coldness and contempt for other families. It's no surprise that he becomes a better man once he is separated from her due to going to war and being captured, losing his hand certainly sped up the process. Not to mention Brienne.

  • @PeterEhik

    Arya’s conversation with Tywin about admiring Visenya and Rheanys

      Fatal Shore
      It seems that only the children of Lords were really able to have access to that type of schooling. The rest probably know some general info but it isn't likely they'd have learned about the dragon's names of his sisters unless they existed when dragon's still did and their job somehow had to do with dragon's so they had reason to know that or at least be exposed to it. I mean, a ton of people there can't even read.
      It tells Tywin that yea, she's high-born (he clearly knew that already but I'm sure that bit drove it home even more).
      I cannot wait till Arya and Dany meet and become bffs somehow lol

  • @aacsmiles
    @aacsmiles 6 лет назад +45

    Honestly, I think Tywin suspected she could be Arya, but he's too smart let her know he knows. I think he was playing the long con with her. She's already a prisoner, so what does it matter if she's his cup bearer and calling herself Arry? He knows the last time they tried to catch her directly with soldiers, she managed to get away. He's deduced that she works well under pressure, so this time he's going to keep her docile and try to get little bits of information out of her until he can confirm she is the Stark girl. What he didn't count on was her having a faceless man indebted to her and helping her escape.

    • @judywright4241
      @judywright4241 6 лет назад +4

      aacsmiles --That’s an interesting way of looking at it. I think it is not a plot hole when we think on the station to which Tywin viewed himself. He was amused by the ‘high born low girl’ as we’d smile at the antics of a kitten. We wouldn’t suspect a cougar existed beyond the kitten exterior.....till it ate us🥩🥩🥩🥩

    • @The810kid
      @The810kid 6 лет назад +9

      aacsmiles it's a cool theory but the fact that he left her there with Gregor in charge debunks the theory the same Gregor who slaughters every one there he would have had Arya moved to Casterly Rock if he knew her true identity then brought to kings landing after blackwater

    • @aacsmiles
      @aacsmiles 6 лет назад +3

      Yeah, I see your point, but Gregor doesn't do anything that big without Tywin's orders. Arya escaped before that happened. It's possible, when he gave the order to slaughter harrenhall, he could have added "but don't kill the cupbearer. She might be important." He does specifically tell Arya to serve Ser Gregor which to me points to more of him keeping her close. I doubt he'd care what his cupbearer does while he's away if they weren't important. Plus, saying "Oh, btw, I left your little sister in the care of the most violent man in Westeros," would put more pressure on Rob to trade Jamie for his sisters.

    • @The810kid
      @The810kid 6 лет назад +3

      aacsmiles none of that sounds like anything Tywin would do he knows Gregor is a mad dog that went overboard and killed Ellis and if we take his words from the books that he never intended for Ellia to be harmed then he knows that leaving any important person with Gregor is flawed

    • @weiyin8046
      @weiyin8046 6 лет назад +5

      No way. Yeah, she’s a prisoner, but she’s a servant and it easy for servants to die or be killed or be raped. It would be a huge risk not to imprison her

  • @mikeplaysit
    @mikeplaysit 6 лет назад +2

    I thought the reason Tywin was giving her the mutton was because he suspected it of being poisoned. I mean someone just tried to have him killed, supposedly. Even though it didn't look that way on film, I would imagine Tywin is so full of himself he automatically assumes that they were after him and not Amory. The way he says "it's bad manners to refuse a lords offer... Sit... EAT..", putting the utensils into her hands.

    Arya and Tywin's convo's remind me so much of mine and my grandpa's. Everyone else treated me like the black sheep in my family, because I was like her. But not my grandpa, he liked my wit and spunk. And I respected him for being so serious and family above all else. We'd go back and forth about history and he'd tell me stories about things he'd seen. Even though he was technically my step grandpa I always considered him blood. He understood me in a way no one else did, I think because we had the same kind of mind. So whenever I see Arya/Tywin scenes it reminds me of that.
    When you said Jaime didn't care about legacy and all that crap that Tywin does, it reminded of Ceasare Borgia and Rodrigo Borgia, the pope. Their relationship. Rodrigo wanted to set him up to be next Pope, establish a family line and all that. And Ceasare wanted nothing to do with that. He wanted what Jaime wanted, to live and die by the sword, and get glory that way. I always said the Lannister's are a mix of the Lancaster's and the Borgia's. Tywin is a mix of Richard Neville The Kingmaker and Rodrigo Borgia. Jaime is Ceasare, Cersei is Lucrezia...plus Ceasare and Lucrezia were rumored to be getting it on so that fits.

Even in season 4 when Tyrion is in prison and he and Jamie are talking about all the different words for killing someone else and how there is no word for nephew killing, Jamie replies there is also no word for cousin killing.

    As a political science degree holder and an anarchist (anarcho-primitivist to be exact) it's more accurate to call the Wildlings an "anarchy" as they have no permanent governing institutions or positions to fill, an example being that they dont ALWAYS have a king, but only when they need one for a SPECIFIC purpose (and arguably, after that purpose is fulfilled, the position of king is disbanded like it has been in the past approximately six different times). Just compare the "governance" [or lack there of] of the Wildlings to that of the United States or the parliamentary, social democracies of Europe and you won't see many similarities. However, compare the Wildlings to how the anarchist unions of Spain organized their areas during the Spanish Civil war (1936-1939) and/or how the current anarchist inspired revolution in Rojava (Syria) by the Kurds, and you will see countless similarities. Yes, I know this isn't the most important point for which to argue about (though I'm not arguing), but I personally find the anarchic freedom and absolute autonomy of the Wildlings to be inspiring and something to aspire to for the rest of Westeros. P.S. the Night's Watch is more of a democracy than the wildlings

The show is so spot on with the first season, but it's still fun reading all the small little details that differentiate the book from the show, though I'm only on page 200~ out of 800~. So thanks for the reviews, always fun to talk about GoT!
    PS. It's much easier to understand why the Stark children and Daenerys act the way they do considering how young they're meant to be in the books.

    Whenever I hear the word legacy now my mind goes directly to Hamilton. "Legacy. What is a legacy? It's planting seeds in a garden you never get to see. I wrote some notes at the beginning of a song someone will sing for me. America, you great unfinished symphony, you sent for me!..." That musical moves me on the same level that GOT does. GOT is by far my favorite series, but Hamilton is the best musical I have ever been introduced to.

    The Hound's confesses he would kill the king for Sansa. She hears this, really hears this. They're both freaked out by this revelation and part. I also find their body language interesting-they square up and verbally spare. Sansa says what she wants to say unafraid.

    I love the manga version of Arya and the Hound. Is it available as a print? Or could you put it in the middle next video so I can gaze at it without being disturbed by this silly frame? (Who needs frames anyway?) :P

    I don’t think Tywin not deducing she’s Arya is a plot hole. No one knew that Arya was missing. Tyrion didn’t find out until he got to kings landing which means they weren’t going to risk sending ravens that could be intercepted to tell Tywin

    I don't think arya had intentions to kill tywin I think what she was more like learning from him how Sansa learned from Cerscie

    I am rewatching all the episodes and I noticed something wild in this one! Watch when John and Ingrette (sp) wake up, look and see what is in the background! Then later when they are walking right before she gets loose. They are walking across the ledge were the Night king threw the spear at the Dragon overlooking the lake that they fight the whites at. Then rewatch it again and listen to the dialogue, she talks about shoving a spear up his ass! Killer foreshadowing in this episode

    Does Tywin even know Arya's missing? Tyrion might want Tywin to know but just as Jaime's safety is paramount to the war, so are the girls' safety. He probably wouldn't trust sending a messenger with that kind of sensitive information and decide to wait and tell Tywin himself when he gets to King's Landing (if they haven't found her by then). So, yeah, not sure that's a plot hole considering there are hundreds of noble families in Westeros and plenty of them could've gotten caught on the wrong side of the battle lines.

      I agree. I don't think he knew. LF, on the otherhand....lol

    • @angelas1060
      @angelas1060 6 лет назад

      Yeah, LF knew but we never see him tell Tywin. And since Tyrion wouldn't have known LF would see him, he wouldn't have given LF a direct order to inform Tywin (which LF would then have to follow). So LF's gonna say - or NOT say - whatever he wants according to the ten different plans he's got going on in his head. lol Lots of people think he recognized Arya but didn't say anything for his own reasons, so who knows with him. Either way, I don't think Tywin found out she was missing until he returned to KL.

      Yep. I'm one of those people that thinks he did recognize her & didn't tell Tywin because he had his own plans for her. But, before he could muster up a plan to take her out of there without Tywin knowing, she escaped.

      angie 808 Well, there you go, all the more reason for him to not tell Tywin she's even missing.
