I would really like to see a review of how the lights actually work on people rather than a background. how powerful are they etc etc. this review didn't do much for me rather than going thru the product itself which i can do on my own.
I see you use the Aputure 120 D as your key light. This is important to know as your viewers might get the impression that these GVM lights are good for key lights, when in fact they are not good for key lights. They don't produce the same quality lighting for skin tones. However, they are good for light backgrounds or objects.
Perfect for background lights. Curious do they remember what colors they are on if you power them off and then power them back on? I am curious if I could hook them up to a smart plug and turn on my studio settings for recording with a call of a command to Alexa. Right now everything in my studio work like that other than my background RGB lights. Thanks!
I want to love these lights so bad but unfortunately I’ve had to order them twice now from amazon and both times one of the dials on the lights was not working and had to return them. Huge bummer. They have so many great functions and are very affordable.
I'm having the same problem with the brightness control knob. Works with the app but not manually. I'm hoping to get a good replacement though! I wonder if it would be better if getting through B&H??
@@TKtimestretch I realized the brightness control knob DOES work, it just takes a heck of a lot of turning to get it to work!! I have expensive Pro Foto lights for my still photography. These are very basic...what brand/model did you end up getting?
Does this look better on a grey backdrop or white backdrop? I already own it, but I dont get the nice blend of colors you're getting on this video. & I'm using a white muslin backdrop. What am I doing wrong? Or did you color correct it in post? Which backdrop you using for this video? Can you link it please?
What about live-streaming? Do you think these are pretty good or is there a better option? I was looking at the elgato key light but they're $200/ea... I can get 3 of these for like $350

Marcos Rocha what about the 50RS, I just got those on order... I figured better to go expensive and get an all around key/fill daylight plus rgb, but now your review has me worried that they won’t be good for key and fill lighting after all... :) I was going to get the 800 lie yours at first, too, then thought I might as well get the 50RS for better all around usage. But, is it better to cancel the 50RS, get the 800, and then get a cheap set of CFL umbrella lights? Uggh! :)

I have GVM’s regular bi color lights and they’re great and such a good value.

@@traceypettis6583 Thats where I got mine. I decided to go with a higher quality, although much more expensive brand and am very happy about it.

Depends if you know how to light a green or not. Any lights are good, it's how you use it and the build quality of it
Nice! I’ve really been wanting to get some RGB lights. These seem like they might be a good affordable option for lighting backgrounds and such.

How long do these lights run on battery power?
A friend has them and said 4hrs at full power if you use the large Sony style batteries.

There is still a problem to be raised. Color saturation is bad. The difference between 100% and 99% saturation is sadly huge.
