- In this tutorial, I share with you how to sidechain your audio in OBS. This guide shows you how to lower your game audio in OBS while you are talking automatically so you don't have to keep adjusting your volume during your twitch, Facebook, or youtube streams. Hope this helps and thanks to Sarlius for this video suggestion. This is the best way to lower your volume in OBS.
Sidechaining is a production technique used in a wide variety of music genres where an effect is activated by an audio track.

Hi Andrew I am having an OBS issue where when I launch a game while OBS is up my Mic volume goes down and I don't understand why, this issue just started happening Today and I don't know what to do.
Gotta give you a shout out - as an absolute n00b (i recorded a video for the first time today), this video was absolutely clear, precise and easy to understand. THANK YOU!

hello! Thanks you this was very helpful! I do have a question! I noticed that the volume changes in the audio mixer\works in the output but i don't hear the volume change in my headphones.
THANKS A LOT MAN
Greetings from Mexico!
You're welcome
Thank you for the tutorial, now I do not have to manually adjust audio per games, my voice can always overpower it from here on end :)
You're welcome
thank you! I've been frustated balancing my game and mic audio 😅
Glad I could help!
While I like it, there is also a downside.
If you set it up like you've shown in the video, the audio source gets compressed twice if YOU and one of my 'friends' is talking at the same time.
Are there any new ways to realize the same, but without my audio being double compressed?
Thank you bro it's called dogde on audio mixer you've saved me from buying it🙏🙏🙏
copy that.
haha.... thanks bro.. just need time to understand all that.. this pandemic asks me to study things that I never though. lol.
No worries, stay safe and hope it helps.
your tutorial helping the dummies so much.. thanks again.
Hi, I have this issue with my OBS that it lowers my in-game volume whenever I launch it. Like playing Valorant at full volume in-game is deafened to like 50% whenever I try to record, do you happen to know a solution for that?
Edit: It also does this to my browser or any program that has audio in it.
Might be a bit late, but it sounds like to fix this, in OBS, go to Settings -> Audio -> Advanced and click 'Disable Windows audio ducking' so it's ticked. That should stop OBS ducking any inputted volumes.
Man...You should make a full video with how you did the EQ, the VOIP and then how to use these...You are telling me how to do the last 25% of the job when you allready have it done (probably by someone else cuz it's clear you dont know how)...
