While this is super cool, people need to keep in mind that the more you add into OBS the more CPU/GPU is required. So if you are gaming and streaming from the same PC, CPU/GPU useage is important for smooting gaming and streaming. Thus, in most cases, less is more.
yup, but if you can afford it you can also have 2 gpus (good luck) like a main gaming gpu (i.e 3080) and a encoding gpu for streaming (like a 1660) to help split up the load so you don't have to worry about restraint as much but you're gonna need a beefy power supply for that but if you're buying a 1660 and 3080 i think you would have enough to get a 1000w power supply XD this is sort of what i have on linux except i use a gaming vm for my stuff and a capture card to get all of the info and use my host to stream.
Actually, adding masks doesn't stress the encoder. Rather the opposite. Since you show less of your source, the encoder needs to encode less data, so it stresses the CPU/GPU less than trying to encode the full source. So, feel free to add as many masks you like. Other effects (like shaders, scroll effects, animations etc) sure. They will increase the usage. But purely talking about masks, they won't have any negative effect.
3 minutes in and you've earned sub. I've been wanting to update my stream setup with animations, masks, and graphics, and this video got bubbled up on the recommended list on RUclips. Thanks for the step by step!
Michael I cannot express how Grateful I am for your videos. Every week I’m trying to learn at least one of the skills you share. Ive been slowly incorporating it into my videos/presentations. I owe you full credit. When I search something. I see your face my first response “Thats my guy”
This video was so helpful. I am just starting out, but really getting into the creative freedom you have with OBS to help build your brand! Thank you so much for posting!
@@MichaelFeyrerJr Indeed, since I watched your videos on your channel that I want to use (obs) I thought wow this is cool Thanks to you I know what to do next time
This is BRILLIANT and so helpful. A detailed but simple and clear explanation and demonstration - you're a wonderful teacher. Thank you! You have a new subscriber in me.
My audience loves that move transition from your last vid... thanks for the tips as always.. I'm a little channel with a pro stream look... so I really appreciate these tutorials 👍🤜💥🤛
Thanks for these helpful videos, I just tried using obs first time recently, made a quick video. And am now having a blast learning what more can be done.
Definetly I suscribed to this channel from the very moment I applied everything that your videos teach me to improve my streams. Great work and quite useful to streamers and content creators from around the world. Greetings from Spain!
3rd video got me , i didnt sub the first 2 times cause i wasnt sure if i would be interested in all your content , but now even if i dont use it i want to learn it , good job
I'm a brand new subscriber. This was an awesome video tut. I plan on using this technique for a weather group I have on FB to produce live weather forecast, since I am a storm chaser. Thus will add a new level of customization and professionalism to my streams.
This overlay is genius! I also saw your face cam video and your cellphone to obs share screen video! You're definitely helping me to learn a lot of new things before I begin my new twitchtv. Can you make a video of the best settings for live streaming on obs to twitch, to avoid the video freezing? And, to avoid the video and audio not being in sync because sometimes the audio moves faster than the video. Thank you!!
This is amazing! I am fortunate enough to have Creative Cloud so will be creating the Masks in Illustrator, but this opens my eyes to so many options to enhance my stream! Thanks so much!
It does not use any more internet speed. It will use your gpu or your cpu depending on how you are encoding your stream. Nvidia will use gpu. No Nvidia will use cpu.
Today I've watched 3 of your videos for the 1st time. I'm kind of new to all this stuff and using OBS, and this video was a llittle less complicated for me to understand (and apply) than the other 2 videos I initally watched, so I gave this one a Like & Subscribed to your channel. Thanks
wow this guy is a genious.. Thanks Michael yep i have just found your channel and i am so glad i did, each production you put out to help us is top notch. You can`t help but to learn watching your videos. I have just downloaded OBS and running two webcams through it, although not very successfully at the moment but hopefully watching some more of your tutorials this will all change, I am making a rig for my Club to use when we are performing, i have a top webcam pointing down to the top of a table, and a sideways camera. We are all Magician`s so the down facing webcam is crucial but i can not get it anywhere near right probably due to it being positioned approx 8 feet away from the table looking down (to show playing card effects) can you give me any links you may have to setup this type of thing. Thanks for your work in getting these tutorials out to us all.
Pretty basic stuff, I mean if you use any photo or video editing software, masks are the first thing you get to use to do any descent job. And masks in OBS can go sooooooo much further than just "cropping" a source. But other than that, pretty solid video you got there! I like your enthusiasm! Keep it up!
Dear Michael, I follow you from France. Thank you very much for your dynamic and so instructive video. You make me save a lot of time and give me a lot of ideas 🙏👏👍
Really great job. What are the capabilities that I must have on my computer in order to implement what you are doing? Waiting for your reply, thank you very much.
I have an old desktop. Probably 2014 or so and an Nvidia graphics card. I am also a computer expert who had been working with and building machines for more than 20 years. To avoid any issues I would recommend an i7 or better with and Nvidia graphics card, and 32 mb of ram minimum.
Michael can you see if there is a way to use an ipad as a streaming device for switch/ps5/xbox the same way you would a pc in obs? not mobile games console games is there an app that will allow video input like el gato?
Second watched video. Not going to lie, I'm one of the ones who WAS not subscribed. The first vid was great knowledge. This is tops it. You got my subscription! Great content!
Hey! Thank you for the video, really helped me! Cheers from brazil! But i do have a question, ive created a mask, but its a bit out of center, is there a way to move only the mask without moving the media file or having to create another mask?
Michael, Thank you for the Videos.. I am trying to resolve video Quality issues (using Iphone & Android via WIFI), digital zooming sucks, but I was looking for a way to eliminate a background from my spinning globe. Using masks as shown may be able to make that happen from me.
AMAZING..... QUESTION..... im using a SAMSUNG 2021 i7 notebook... the type you can flip all the way... if that makes sense... im still not happy with the performance of OBS.... laptop specs are prety high... so i cant find ANY REASON FOR OBS to perform so slow... AND SPECIALLY WHEN or IF I AM TO DO A LIVE STREAM.... your reply means a lot... THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS..
Great tip! Having an issue that adding the mask for my camera ends up applying to ALL other scenes with the camera. And I can't seem to add another video capture device with the same camera. I don't end up showing up. Suggestions?
Yes. Stream fx has a feature called mirror source. It makes a copy of the original source so you can modify it as many times as you want. I think I show the process here. ruclips.net/video/20zrNaqSHts/видео.html
