- It's an exciting day here at the landfill... We just got our new CAT D6 from Blanchard Cat! If you're looking for a dozer that can handle anything you throw at it, look no further. The Caterpillar D6 Bulldozer is equipped with a landfill package that includes extra guarding and a fire suppression system. Walker trailer sales has good deal on thunder creek fuel trailers!! I’d recommend looking into them on board def and fuel as well as multiple compartment storage and light tower options I love mine!

Wow... Nice.! I just spent the last couple of weeks in a 6 way pos D3, non-funtional AC, no slope, stereo looking like it got beat with a screw driver, and a roller pin that dropped off while making a left. Basic as basic gets, and beat more than it deserved before (re)servicing. I couldn't have been happier to get put back in the seat of an Ex. By wire beats valves.!

I like the videos where we can see from the cab more because you really see more when its filmed from that cab.
I do like the camera placement from between the bars of the blade.
It kinda feels like your sitting right behind that blade. I do hope you placed that gopro behind those bars so it won´t get knocked off.
But damn that thing looks like a dream to operate.
I wish I could work at a landfill for a living if I could operate such a comfortable monster.

Landfill I worked for was so cheap they wouldn’t pay extra for the landfill package. Had to cut a few inches off the inside of every track pad and burn the center hole in every single pad too. Must be nice to work for a place that gets proper equipment.

It seems to me that someone would invent a machine to walk across with a magnet on the under belly and pickup all the scrap metal on the underbelly to stockpile and eventually sell for added profit

You caught me on the ballcap promo, I'm predominately from Chris's bunch of brigands. I'm checking things out for now to see how the lay of the land sits here on your site. I'm partial to Cat as well probably influence from Jpaydirt viewing. I've seen a vid ot that particular model of D6 in some real heavy action. I have to admit I had a chuckle at Chris's expense for the videos of his D6 in action. You saw he just purchased a D7 didn't you? I can't blame him, an engine fire on gear that old would freak me out as well. Good luck on future endevours and may the best man win. Thanx

This is WAY nicer than the D11 video from a few years ago that I just watched. The D11 had absolutely HORRIBLE field of view and the controls were outrageously poorly laid out. I still think there's a lot they could've done to make it more oriented to being a cockpit than a "cabin" ... but obviously this is an industry that's going to crawl at a snail's pace! ... since there's what ... of 2 or 3 real competitors: -Volvo,- -Hitachi- Cat and Komatsu ..? Who else..? Anyway, the Komatsu interior LOOKS nicer (which probably means about F all) to this laymen ... Anyway ... Thanks for this insight and video. Stay safe.

Great Video! What do you think of the Komatsu D71 compared to the CAT D6? I have recently watched a RUclips video both being quickly compared and the man in the video preferred the Komatsu. We need the dozer to break and flatten the ground to create a flat path in the Quarry for the trucks.
I love both CAT and Komatsu dozers, but probably would choose Komatsu just because I have more time in the seat with them

We are getting a new D6 Cat at the landfill I work at . I'm the main dozer operator there .
Sweet!!!! I operated a Cat D5K2 bulldozer, Cat 315 CL excavator, Cat 313 FL excavator, and Cat 926M wheel loader in Las Vegas at a construction site driving school called “Dig This Las Vegas”!!!!

Well you are the owner of the business and you can dictate that all building debris (ie wood) be hauled in by itself and dumped in a location that is of your choosing to eliminate the extra costs associated with sorting and hauling! Do you charge them to dump? All of our dump locations in Mn dictate where to dump building debris separate from trash and also separate from metal!

We the American people need to focus on ways to dispose of our garbage better, is there not away to burn trash for energy ? ( l dont buy into global warming ) l just hate seeing giant pits in the ground or huge mountains of trash in other places.

No, too caustic with all the plastic. The best hope we have is to stop buying single use plastics and to encourage recycling on a serious level at your disposal center near you. Where I live in Sunnyvale California has a remarkable recycling facility where very little waste goes to the landfill.
Contrary to popular belief, landfills are one of the most efficient, economical and green ways to dispose of trash. They’re not not just “piles of dirt” really. They’re layers and layers of composting trash with complex gas capturing systems (which can be used for fuel). They’re actually a Modern Marvel.
The one downfall to Landfills really is they take up a lot of space. That and they tend to smell.
Burning trash is done in the US, but they’re expensive to build and operate. Plus, after it’s all said and done, the ash goes to a landfill where it creates a mound of dirt anyways.
