"There's a little voice saying that you can't do this. That little voice - stop listening to it." Great advice to whoever wants to achieve and are having any moments of doubt.
I follow Henry Dodds on Twitter and whilst I don't agree with him on a lot of things I do agree with him on this part. I've been doing a lot of hiking since lockdown ended and this advice has kept me going. The fact you don't think you can do something should drive you to achieve it.
That Captain has the most deadpan expression I've ever seen. It's almost more intimidating than an NCO yelling in your ear when you have to look into those eyes boring into your head.
If you join the Gurkhas or the Marines, this is the type of instructor you get. Not someone like Gunnery Sergeant Hartman who's like "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, YOU HORRIBLE LITTLE MAN?! GET ON THE GROUND AND GIVE ME FIFTY!", but someone who delivers dressings down with cold contempt.
The Captain Gives some good advice, especially when I am in a situation where I have no choice but to stop thinking about certain people and situations that caused harm to me
Everytime I see this programme, I see proof of my argument, with my family, that people waste Captain Dodds or other people's time, and only get told off, rather than picked on, for not wanting to pull their weight, or being gungy, and getting related punishments, for it.
Captain Dodds was right. That person was definitely a malingerer. He had no valid reason for wanting to quit. He just had to do something constructive, to stop listening to that little voice saying "I can't do this".
That little voice inside your head is the same voice which tells you not to go to the gym, tells you to stop running and walk. Just drink beer in front of the TV...... "Your mind is not your friend " cus d'amato
What happened to Private Cummings in the end? Didn't one of the Corporals have a go at him because he wanted to quit earlier or something? And what happened to Captain Henry Dodds in the end too please? Good advice however...!
Yes thats true, but some of them are just gutless wonders anyway. Also the nco were bad lads like them,in their younger days&thats why they were specifically chosen-and those who passed it,not only earned their respect, but mine, too.
Are you a man or a mouse. Ha ha!! Classic. I have the series on Video tape somewhere!! I need to find some time to get more clips up. We want a new series...!
Yeah, that is in the later one with Provo Sgt Weston where the corporal tells him to tell the provo to Mind his own f**king business when he asks him why he's been sent to him. Ha ha!! I have to get more clips up!!
you're talking bollocks there mate, the sas are a team of people right....a team of people. So that means they work together as team to achieve a mission objective. infact that's what the military teaches everybody about...team work mate.
albert johnson It’s not, it’s a reality show where 30 young men are sent to participate in 1950s style army training. However all the NCOs and Officers in the show have served in the British Army.

My Drill Sgts told me the same thing in basic training I'm glad they did too
Ikr they give good advice

British officers set the standard for exemplifying the 'upper crust'.
he looks like a damn bond villian
I believe he was an army interrogator for a number of years!

Yep nothing much going on between those inbreed ears
Sometimes calm officers are scarier than the ones who do the yelling
That's the trick
Or bigger plonkers
He has no sense of authority about him whatsoever and he’s about as inspiring as roadkill

You need to tell yourself something similar, my friend, like "They are all gone now. Who is trying to hurt me now?".

Talk about "Break them by talking".
Ignore the little voice!! Excellent the oldies are the best

People used to think I was a malingerer until I almost died of sepsis
So in reality you didn’t die.. that little voice stop listening to it 😂😊
Already probably been said but that’s actually good advice 😂

Captain Henry Dodds is a sexy man
Yeah. I'm not gay but I find him a REALLY handsome man. Especially in that uniform. Makes me jealous hah
He is quite bangable in that uniform 😍
Seems like captain Dodds has some admirers 😂
Captain sexy Dodds
He quit anyway in later episode.

What are you a man or a mice 😂😭🤣
Cummings remind me bruce angland in bad lads army season 4 .
Yeah I remember the bit where he takes on the role of navigator but screws it up. Corporal Newton just kept swearing in his face.
What happened to the clip where a recruit goes up to the the provo sergent and says to him "mind your own fucking business"?
cornwallrules01 it’s on youtube still... answering you 12 years later
Was he ordered to? Because that's a common hazing trick.
@@wkcia Yes.
Still one of the best ones in my opinion, because you can't disobey a direct order.
Glenn Ponce's off Sarah
Love it!!
I would say what voice ? I can’t hear anything

That was Sgt Rae that told the private to tell the provost Srnt to go mind his own ****ing business.
What are you on about? The guy talking to this pathetic fanny was CAPTAIN DODDS...
That little voice is telling me not to listen to you captain
That was the Srnt but yea.

@@xxOmponxx Indeed. Look at that fat stack of campaign medal ribbons. These people put their money where their mouths are.
they shout then pretend they are wise and try to say something and sound like football players on interviews....ahhahahaha.......
Dimitrios Desmos yeah he made it sound very profound which was essentially just “ignore yourself telling you to quit”
erm it's not just shooting & killing it's also domestic violence too. there's alot more flaws in civilian society than in the military mate.
These British officers are hard core compared to Americas new binary drill instructors ........
