A guy I knew made his nephew a Mac Tonight Halloween costume back then. He later went on to work in film & television.

I remember Mac tonite! August '87 that sounds about right. I was almost 7 years old and I begged my mom to take me to Mcdonald's at night so I could see the hamburgers pop out of the roof like in the commercial. I was disappointed they didn't really do that lol

🫤*scratches head* I dunno about this kind crazy stuff, Weird Paul, but now that you remind me, I can remember.😒 The only McDonalds toy I own is a Barbie Stacey doll, dressed in a sporty red outfit, complete with matching red beret, socks & shoes, and she’s got these fab cinnamon red dot button earrings. What I love best is how the McDonalds fries decal on her shirt appears to explode, so it’s sort of abstract and super cool! I have her standing alongside my ‘79 Sports Shave Ken! The only other nostalgic fast food toys in my collection are two ‘80s Taco Bell Rainbow Brite Sprite dolls.😊

That particular character for some reason gave me nightmares. Granted ET did as well.
I felt the same way about the uncanny valley of Jim Carrey's " The mask ". It gave me a sick feeling in my stomach .

The only time I've ever heard of this character is in The Simpsons episode "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bangalore". Until I had your videos/streams most of my US cultural references were from The Simpsons. I'm pretty sure that is true of many people outside the US.
