- hi there~ if you guys have been following me a bit, you know that this summer is sort of an emotional one. My parents finally sold the home I lived in since I was born, and they're moving cross country. I'm spending July and August saying goodbye to my hometown and today, we're saying a special goodbye to the library. Due to ~the world~ it's been nearly 2.5 years since I was able to visit my city's public library and I was so happy to be back. The tour is quiet (duh) but I hope you enjoy - this is mainly for me so I can look back and remember it :') Thanks always and sending love!

Okay I feel like a very big compliment is due. I love your channel both the main one and the book channel. You're the person that got me back into reading because whenever you talked about the books you read i felt like you were sharing a very special experience with us (and your taste is great. I have picked up a lot of books I never would've read if you hadn't recommended them). Whenever I have a stressful day or feel down I'll watch one of your videos bc as you said you are very chill (but also hilarious I might add). Anyway I geeked out a lot about this video, since I'm studying library science so I was checking all the details of your library and it was a lot of fun for me!
I like this video I'm also away from home and it gave me a nostalgic feeling making me think about the library I used to go to when I was young and all these things. A video doesn't need to be fast or packed with things to be meaningful!

I'm glad you're starting to feel better about your content after a month of feeling iffy. Your channel is one of the places I have found the most comfort during the past year and especially month, and I don't think that is in spite of your "funk." I think your willingness to stay in a mood or emotion in your videos, and to be able to communicate that through images and soundtrack and your honest reflection, is one of the things I appreciate most about your work, and a skill and instinct that sets your creativity apart from the kinds of quick-witted, fast-paced creators you were comparing yourself to. While watching this video, I started missing some of the libraries that have been my home, and it made me emotional. I felt waves of both sadness and gratitude for those places, and that feeling that comes with the heavy recognition of time having passed. (I wish we had a word for this in English.) You gave me the space and inspiration to recognize and feel these things. So, thank you!

I honestly enjoy every single one of your videos no matter the content because, whether the pacing is slow or your day is filled with tons of stuff to record, for me it's your personality that truly entertains me. You just seem so laid back and sweet and spunky and someone I'd 100% want to be friends with. We share a lot of common interests. Also, I'm a fellow SoCal girl... born and raised in San Diego, closer to downtown in Mira Mesa but I was all over the place with my friends. I practically lived on the La Jolla and Torrey Pines beaches. Carlsbad is still one of my favorite towns and I spent tons of time driving up there, as well as Oceanside and Encinitas. Amazing communities. OMG I want to move back there so bad. But yeah, just keep doing what you're doing with your videos. I'll always watch them no matter what :)

Your local library is nice, and I think doing a tour was a neat idea during your trip! I recently went to the library here when they newly reopened after covid-19, but it wasn't the same. They were still taking considerable precautions so there was no seating anywhere in the building. I understand the reasoning, I suppose, but it made a place where I often took comfort from seem very inhospitable.

I love the library tour! I miss my hometown library. The one in the town I live now is beautiful but it is so dirty. The books are literally dirty and gross. But you've helped me switch to electric libraries and I wanted to say thank you!!

I can relate to this feeling of when you see a lot of things changing and disappearing in the neighborhood you've grown.
Personally I get very emotional and melancholic when you vividly remember the look, the smell, the feeling you had being in said building/place and have so many memories and than it's gone, it's a bittersweet feeling but I have to remember myself that at least I got to experience and witness all the changes for better or for worse.. :)
It's so cool that you filmed your library and now you have it sealed in a video I can imagine filming all the shots of little corners where you studied and spent so much time mean a lot more to you, wish I got to do that with my own childhood library, I might just do that.. but secretly film shhh.. :)

omg I'm from Carlsbad too! and grew up frequenting the Dove library too! i know you have left by now but the art gallery actually has lots of cool exhibits year round, and they do often have photo shows, but they also feature other kinds of art too 😊
