    CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Superman (Christopher Reeve) swoops in to save Ricky (Paul Kaethler) at the last second from a harvester combine.
    FILM DESCRIPTION:
In a major departure from the tone of the preceding two Superman adventure films, this mix of vile deeds and fantasy heroics drops the "S" out of cosmic and goes for comic instead. Right at the starting gate, Gus Gorman (Richard Pryor) and a subsequent slapstick sequence upstage (Christopher Reeves again), who later develops an identity crisis. Gorman, newly trained as a computer whiz, starts working for a conglomerate run by the corporate nemesis Ross Webster (Robert Vaughn), intent on world domination. Gorman is sent to Superman's small town of Smallville to wipe out Columbia's coffee crop by fiddling with the computer side of a weather satellite. Clark Kent is in town for his class reunion, leading Superman to clash with Gorman, which in turn, leads Gorman to develop a hybrid red Kryptonite. Unwittingly, since Gorman's wits are always in doubt, the Red Kryptonite causes Superman to split into a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde schizophrenia -- but in two separate bodies. As the evil Superman swaggers around town, megalomaniac Ross Webster has other tricks in mind -- and in one of the more memorable action scenes (interspersed with a video game sequence), Superman is chased through the Grand Canyon by a fast-flying, very determined missile. Lana Lang (Annette O'Toole) is on hand for romantic interest (Margot Kidder only appears briefly -- she was growing tired of Lois Lane).

I'll just say, that even though it is string-work, I find this Superman's flying to be more satisfying than CGI Henry Cavil*?. This looks more like what it would feel like to take off into the air. Smooth, slow jump forward without falling. It just looks more natural, and graceful; you can relate more to that than Henry exploding off an ice burg with a sonic boom, or just floating up.

As a Black little boy, he was my first hero. A true example of hope, truth, and justice. Superman, aka Christer Reeves made you believe a man can fly and do some many amazing things. I hope James Gun, will incorporate scenes of great transformation and flying scenes and leaps into sky like Richard Donner did because that are jist some of the things that made Superman amazing in the live action movies!

Why was all three of them combines so close together? They should have been spreaded out all through the field. My grandpa was a farmer and he would even say that. I helped him combine the fields when I was a kid.

I loved this film as a kid, but now several things concern me:
    1) it would appear the farmer actually had a clear view of Ricky and kept going.
    2) Ricky clearly suffered a head injury and superman didn't take him to hospital or offer any form of first aid. If you're knocked unconscious you need more than your mother cleaning your face with a spit hanky, you should get checked over at a medical facility. The way he carried him is not recommended for anyone with an unknown method of head injury.
    3) force stopping the combine like that will likely have damaged it. I doubt Superman damage insurance was a thing, he should have checked. Not only would the farmer be out of pocket, but people might have gone hungry.
    4) he could have just run across the field really fast and waved the combine down to stop it, thus negating the risk of getting found out and eliminating the awkward conversation with Lana. Furthermore it would take away the faff of having to change clothes
