The flashlight mod made me realize what potential a parkour horror game has.
Dying light is the closest thing to that.

Man everytime I hear about Mirror's edge, and Mirror's edge catalyst I just tear up cuz I grew up with that game, I'm so glad that there's still at least a bit of content being uploaded about it and I wished there would be a third game, the whole aesthetic just can't be topped even if others hate the game for some reasons

@@zakariyasuleman9961 from what I remember I'm pretty sure it was issues between EA owning the series and the original developers trying to do what they love causing the publishers, owning company, and developers to have a struggle In between leading to much miscommunication and budget cuts, and after catalyst was published, the developers quit and EA announced that Mirror's edge would be discontinued...
Sad world man, if the game was rebranded or remastered, or perhaps an indie game studio takes a hold of the concept they would be able to bring back the parkour joy and aesthetics that Mirror's edge had..
I love how this franchise is still being appreciated. It must never be forgotten. These mods give it a new leash on life. I really hope we'll see the return of this franchise one day.

These mods are nuts. Normally with mods there’s a bit of jank that makes it easy to tell it’s modded, but if I had never seen Catalyst before and saw this video I’d think all of these mods were part of the base game. Awesome job showcasing these

Aww man this is a great video of showcasing the beauty of mirrors edge catalyst and what modders are capable of. I wish they would make a sequel but it seems like mirrors edge didnt quite put up the numbers that EA was hoping for.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst has imo the best mobility in a FPS. Had a blast with it.

This was an excellent collection of mods, thank you for showcasing them and putting the links in the description! I especially love the Magrope Plus mode, it's just that good.
P.S. Now to think of it, I wonder does the game support soft penumbra shadows filtering, or not? I suppose PCSS would be enough but not sure if it's supported. I remember there was a mod enabling PCSS soft shadows for NFS Payback (which is another game utilizing Frostbite engine released back in mid-2010s. Though NFS PB does came out later, so MEC's version of Frostbite might not yet support PCSS if the engine version is not as feature-complete as Payback's).
Man this really makes me want to play Mirror's Edge again!
Finally, a reason for me to return to this game! I was disappointed by this game at launch but beat it anyways and promptly forgot about it, this should be more the game I envisioned with these mods you linked

Glad you covered this game, I always come back to it after a few years and replay it through. Sure it had its problems, like some of the plot was Jank, but I love it dearly! Such a unique game and aesthetic, thank you for putting it in the spotlight once again.

Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst is a perfect sequel. As much as gamers hated it, I absolutely loved it! Sure, it’s not like the first game… It’s better!

The flashlight mod more than anything else makes me crave another mirrors edge... I love them both, and I'm trying to blast through ghost runner but the speed you need to get through that is beyond me... But the flashlight... Exploration and adding huge risk to every move, surely EA might see that as another reason to dip their toes again

imo, mirror's edge as a whole is probably the most unique feeling ive ever got from a game, the atmosphere, world and gameplay of these games are something that hasnt been remade to this day, still bangers now but unfortunately we most likely won't get a game like mirror's edge for a really long time.
