Rlly recommend watching the full run of it makes you feel alot less bad for the runner, still one of the best comedic skitts in GDQ history imo
He didn't, the name is a bit confusing, but other than that "glitchless" is a valid way to speedrun, a truly glitchless speedrun would be frustrating in a lot of games since if the game accidentally glitched, bam! you're suddenly competing in any%, thus minor glitches is allowed.

Glitchless IS a valid way to speedrun, but this is not glitchless, even if labeled as such. There's a difference between a wallrun or something and clipping through objects.

I know this is for laughs but if anybody is being roasted here, it's the Mirror's Edge speedrun community for the terrible run category name. "Glitchless" clearly should be called "no major glitches" and you avoid most of these issues.

To be fair he does call out some tricks that can't be considered glitches, it's just mechanic exploit. But there were some glitches, like the one that the runner himself called it a glitch, and some clipping.

@@trizzyplease69 Normally a category named glitchless would be just that: no glitches at all (a glitch being something with a specific definition within the speedrunning community, I can't remember what it is off the top of my head.) However it seems like this category would be more befitting of the "No Major Glitches" title, as hinted at near the beginning of the video.

Just to add on what the previous commenter has explained, the definition of what a "glitch" is can differ from each speedrunning community. The basic gist is utilizing elements in the game that is not part of the intended gameplay mechanic.
One reason why the couch commentator was openly mocking it (they practiced doing the commentary with the runner beforehand, meaning the mockery is fully intentional), was because, for what's considered a "glitchless" speedrun of this game, the rules for it do allow numerous actions that would be normally considered a glitch and arbitrarily prohibits the use of some intended gameplay mechanic such as skipping cutscenes, which is an actual gameplay feature that was intentionally placed in by the game developers as a part of the game.
Legalizing glitches in a glitchless category is quite unheard of, but this is one rather extreme case of speedrunning communities practicing their right to define what can be considered a "glitch" for their speedrun category.
