Steve Martin is actually a very good banjo player. He said once that he chose comedy over bluegrass because nobody ever said "Look at that banjo player in that Porsche!"
One of his lhes from his early standup was "Okay, now I know what you're thinking - this is just yet another one of those banjo-magic-comedy acts..." He basically thought of, and I think, still thinks of, himself as a vaudevillian at heart - get on stage and entertain people for five or ten minutes doing a combination of whatever you've got. Which is one of the reasons he has always worked well with the Muppets - Jim Henson's attitude was much the same, and that attitude still persists.

At 15 I became the Texas state banjo championship, and placed top five in the country later that year. I know Steve Martin will never see this, but you were my original inspiration and now I’m going to start teaching banjo to others as well. Thank you! I have said the before, but the puppeteers on the Muppets do a far better and more realistic job of pretending to play instruments than 90% of the actors you see on TV or film.
This actor can, but especially if they’re playing an instrument you’re familiar with, but often one you’ve never played, it’s cringe-worthy to watch some of them. At least move your fingers in time with the notes, even if you don’t “play” the right notes!

It is awesome - because if one is left handed, there is no reason to "adjust". In baseball, one is not trained to throw or bat righty if they are left handed - actually their market value is greater!. It is really bullshit to say we should play instruments right handed, since right handers are playing instruments in their natural way! Ask them if they should play "lefty" and listen to their response!

Cuz I'm a WOOOOOMAN - WOMAN!" You can probably google that too.
Steve Martin's hair began to turn prematurely grey in his early 20s before he became famous. He go famous in his mid-20s but he looked like his mid-30s or older. Since he looked old at 25 now that he is old, he looks the same.

I worked on of his shows and he was rehearsing in a loading dock area (had awesome reverb) in th back of the venue. I basically got a private show from him. One of the coolest moments ever.
My old friend’s older brother had one of Martin’s 70s stand-up albums on vinyl. It had a small poster in it of Steve in his signature white suit and a printed autograph at the bottom that said “Best fishes, Steve Martin!” It took you a few moments to realize he had a fish’s head sticking out of his coat.
It's 1k now ,hey maybe it's those people that don't believe in animal's playing instruments along side of humans, or maybe they are rating Kermit's left-handed banjo playing 🤔 or they are just a bunch of old people that thinks 👎 means something totally different. I love Steve Martin; he's hilarious. His movie 'The Jerk' was awesome, as well as 'Bringin' Down the House' and the 'Father of the Bride' movies. But just about everything he does is good. This 'Dueling Banjos' piece is no exception. (And who doesn't love a good Muppet?)

Honestly, I kind of like the change in Kermits voice. He's no Jim Henson, and the change is noticeable, but Kermit sounds a little older and more weathered, which fits in with current Muppet canon of him being a semi-retired entertainer.
Actually, there is a change but it’s the same puppeteer that’s been at it since ‘90 & it’s none other than Steve Whitmire. And admittedly, yeah he actually sounded way closer to Jim Henson then than he did here, but now we have a completely wrong sounding Kermit and we can thank Brian Henson, Disney and Matt Vogel for that. He doesn’t sound like Steve or Jim, it’s actually a very unsettling change. Just get back another Jim Henson sound alike like ‘90s Steve Whitmire, and I’ll be fine. Sheesh...

As to what Steve did, apparently it was many things -- allegedly he wouldn't take an understudy, he bailed on a job for "union reasons", and I guess he was just difficult to get along with. Honestly, I kind of like the change in Kermits voice. He's no Jim Henson, and the change is noticeable, but Kermit sounds a little older and more weathered, which fits in with current Muppet canon of him being a semi-retired entertainer.

Actually, there is a change but it’s the same puppeteer that’s been at it since ‘90 & it’s none other than Steve Whitmire. And admittedly, yeah he actually sounded way closer to Jim Henson then than he did here, but now we have a completely wrong sounding Kermit and we can thank Brian Henson, Disney and Matt Vogel for that. He doesn’t sound like Steve or Jim, it’s actually a very unsettling change. Just get back another Jim Henson sound alike like ‘90s Steve Whitmire, and I’ll be fine. Sheesh...

As to what Steve did, apparently it was many things -- allegedly he wouldn't take an understudy, he bailed on a job for "union reasons", and I guess he was just difficult to get along with. The first one is what _really_ ticked off Brian Henson.

Steve's always been a Bluegrass picker. He's lately expanding into playing clawhammer style banjo. That guy washes off more talent every morning in the shower than I will ever have!
